I'm working on a native Objective-C iOS app and I'm wondering if it is possible to embed an animation created in Flash into my app. The animation doesn't have to be interactive, all I need is a couple of animated screens (intro screen, loading screen). Is this posible?
I am running Flash Professional CS5 (11.0.2.489), updater reports I am up to date. The documentation seems to indicate that FP CS5 should support native custom cursors, but it doesn't (Mouse.registerCursor method is undefined).
Should this be supported in FP CS5? Can I update flash.ui to include support? Is it supported in FPCS5.5?
I'm considering using Flash as the UI of a native Windows app, for several reasons, but before I dive in and start building, I figured I'd poll the community to find out whether anyone's got any good examples of this particular approach out there today, just to prove the concept satisfactorily. So I guess that's pretty much the question: Anyone built one specifically? Or better, anyone know of an app in relatively wide distribution that demonstrates the viability of this approach?
Air allows for seamless installs (aka, "badge installs") from the browser, as well as launching an Air app from the browser. Air 2.0 has the Native Process API, which requires packing the app as an .exe/.dmg rather than a .air file. My question: does the badge install process support seamless installation of native Air installers?
I recently came to know about the adobe flash builder with flex in latest release it supports to achieve the benefits of flash for iOS apps.As i am looking for a calendar based app, before taking the Adobe flash builder as a solution, i would like to be clear on the following queries.
What limitation is there of the ipa file generated from FB 4.5 as opposed to a core COCOA touch based solution What are the performance differences between the FlashBuilder app and natively built iPhone app. Is there any limitation of building a HTML5 based app given the calendar functionality apart from look and Feel.
i have an error that i dont understand why appear, the most weird is that happens sometimes but lately happens always, the code that i use is the same and i dont have make any changes to it, in fact i dont execute any code in the start of the application, i use buttons , so i dont get a reason with this error please help me, the error is a dialog that say:Native extension Error: there are packaging errors/warning. Check each native extension in the Flex Build Packaging Page for each target platform. would you like to continue? And when i click yes the program dont start, the debbuger show me the line:
I was trying to get a ballpark idea of how much slower Flash is at pure pixel-pushing 2D graphics than doing the same thing in SDL or other native library. For instance if I have a Flash/Flex app on a modern PC which each frame does a 2D loop and directly reads/sets every pixel, what equivalent PC would give the same performance for a native C++ app? Maybe a classic Pentium, a PII, PIII?
I'm trying to follow this page to launch my AIR native installer application from the browser using "browser invocation"I've loaded the 'badge' sample app into a new "Flex Project (Web)", and made the appropriate changes to the 'AIRBadge.as' file. But I can't seem to use FlashBuilder 4.5 to compile a new 'badge.swf' file which includes my changes.
I have a Facebook application where you can create an animation and share it on your wall. Each feed has a swf player that lets users to play the animation directly on the wall. (like any shared video). As IOS does not support flash, I have also created a native IOS application for playing those animations.
These posts can't be played on IOS devices, when touched, 'Flash Player update required' placeholder is shown.
What I want to do is, to have an alternative link for iPads to play these feeds on my native IOS app (like fb://APP_ID/video_url).
Is it possible to provide a native IOS App url for inline swf feeds?
I'm looking for an alternative to native Flash components. They are way to heavy for my needs. I'm looking for something light, simple, still customizable if possible for AS3. I'm specifically looking for combobox, checkbox, radio button.I'm looking for something reliable with support eventually...so basically I'm ready to pay the price of a good alternative.
I am trying to do an app that requires me to change the behavior of a few native methods and classes of a an application.I want to override methods such as:ExternalInterface.call, ExternalInterface.addCallback, flash.net.navigateToURL in a loaded movie. There are a few ways to do this for example:1. Getting the SWF's bytecode and decompile it. Then change the symbols table with my own class.2. Loading the other movie in my applicationDomain, by doing so, I would be able to rewrite it's own classes.o do (2) what I did was:1. Turn off the "-strict" flag.2. Turn on the "-es" flag.in the compiler and then do something like:
Code: flash.net.navigateToURL = function(u:URLRequest,window:String):void { throw new Error("yay it works");
writing the title in question in www motors of search u can read a lot of comments on the novelties introduced with the new releases of the flex sdk [URL] where is used the new class MouseCursorData present in Flash.ui libraries.
Now: I use Flash Prof as Editor of my projects and I don't succeed in giving in meal to the editor the sdk so to have available the new class.
I have to implement AEC in Flex video conferencing application. I know that it can not be done directly in Flash. I'm thinking to write a native application or library that will do AEC outside Flex.
As far I know Adobe Connect Pro is using some external library that do AEC. I'd like to follow this direction and do something similiar.
There comes two possibilities in my mind:
1) Independend custom AEC filter.
The custom AEC filter will be run in the background and will be processing all data from microphone and sound card and doing AEC. The echo signal will be the data that is to be played but delayed in a temporary buffer, something like this: aec(input, delayed_input, output).
I don't know if it work, because Flash microphone input doesn't know about my custom input and the same with the speakers. But how it is done in WinXP/Vista that have AEC at the system level?
2) AEC filter interacting with Flex's NativeProcess.
The filter will be run by NativeProcess. Flex app will pass microphone sound, received remote voice to the filter and return voice with echo removed and then Flex will output this to the speakers. Will it be correct?
If the 2) method is OK then I have following questions:
I will start with Speex's AEC so in what format should be the data pased from Flex? If I choose Flex Speex codec for sound compression can I pass it directly to the speex library? Will be the performance OK? Calling NativeProcess library every sound frame buffer can be time consuming I think. Why there is no AEC implementation in AS3 that can be used directly from Flash? As far I know to do AEC you must have echo data and microphone data (in Flash 10 there is direct access to the microphone). There is definetly something that is stopping doing it like this but I don't know what it is yet :) Is there some free AEC implementation or a DSP library with in except Speex's that I can use?
I am writing an AIR application through which I want to open a native process 'wordpad.exe' and write data generated in the AIR application to a document.
The wordpad application opens with a blank document but it generates an error Error#2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:.text=Error #3128: Error while writing data to NativeProcess.standardInput.
i am using Flash-builder 4 and developed an application to capture screen image and save on desktop. But when i click the export button , the flex builder shows me the option to export to file only as shown belowI have downloaded latest air sdk and overwrite file in sdk4.0.0 , now air app works but how will it show me the "export to native installer option"??
I'm trying to use Greensock LoaderMax on a Starling Framework project, but since Starling have a lots of its own class, how I can make it work with other classes that is using the native class?
I'm using a WebView to display a web page which contains some Flash content which basically works pretty well. The big problem is, that the Flash content seems not to consider the WebView's boundings: The Flash content is displayed even if the WebView is too small to show the complete page and the Flash content is not inside the WebView's boundings. Moreover this Flash content overlays other (native) layout elements that are displayed next to the WebView. To me, it seems, that the Flash content is rendered in (special) z-Layer, that overlays all other layout elements.
Tested with: Android 2.2 and Flash 10.1.Is this a known bug in Adobes Flash player 10.1?
I've been trying to use ffmpeg with an air app that I made in flash cs5.5. I have it so that ffmpeg.exe needs to be located in the directory where the air app is installed (File.applicationDirectory.nativePath). For some reason this only works when I run the program through the flash dev environment. But when I actually deploy the app, I get error #3219:The NativeProcess could not be started. ffmpeg.exe is located in the same folder.
I actually don't know the full message that it gives...not sure what the property of the error that will give me that message when I catch it. All I know is that it's error 3219. Would this be a profile issue? If i didn't have the extended desktop desktop profile, I don't think I would be able to get this error, I'd get a profiling error wouldn't I? I've disabled user access control as well...I'm using windows 7.
I am looking for utility/helper classes for Adobe AIR/actionscript 3.0 file system and native process utilization. Could someone point me to opensource library projects specific to Adobe AIR..
Does anyone have any experience using external actionscript editors? I've given a brief look at SE|PY, but not sure why it's any better than the native editor in Flash.
I'm developing a multi monitor fullscreen application with Adobe Air 2.6. I can create a window for every monitor, and put those windows to fullscreen. theWindow.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The problem comes when interacting with those windows. If I click the window on the main monitor (the one with the dock and menu bar) no problem, but when I click any other window the system menu bar becomes visible. I've tried resizing the main window to match the monitor size and moving it to a negative coordinate but it always stays behind the bar. Is it possible to do this in Air?
I'm trying to add an event listener to a window that pops up (to the whole window) that will close that window when clicked on. Basically it's your typical about window that would be found in any program by hitting help, then about this program. I am using no chrome on it so I'd like to just be able to click it and have it close.
On a less important note I'd like to center the window on the stage when it pops up. Right now I'm just using the x and w properties to get it close to center on my monitor but obviously that won't work for everyone. Below is the code I've tried. No luck whatsoever. Window pops up but stays up if I click it. Any help as always would be AMAZING!
How do I load an external swf into an external window? I'm using the following code, it works if i add the swf to the original window's stage but not if i add it to the new window's stage.
I'm on to designing my 3rd app. I have two already in the Android and Apple stores. Fairly simple ideas these were. Now, I've come across a bit of a challenge. I want to design an app that contains a database of text files, many also containing pictures. I'd like to have it where you can view these files on, lets say, the iPad, and then print them wirelessly, or send them to yourself in an email, so they can be printed elsewhere.
I have considered just creating an ebook and selling that on the store, but I don't think apple allows you to print from these books. Has to be in PDF, and having an app would be a much better way of distributing and updating it. My idea is creating something quite siimilar to how Apples 'Pages' works, just without any editing capabilities. Select document and print. Sounds simple enough but I can't find any code or tutorials to help me out with this. What I want to know is... can I add a button, that will open up and use the printing options built into iOS? Is this possible to do in Flash with AS3 or would I need to learn how to use Flash Builder and Flex? Could it possibly be done in InDesign?
It's a great thing that it's possible to compile an SWF into iOS native app. I think AIR is now the best option to write e.g. small games or interactive books. Of cause AIR app will be slowler than the same app written on e.g. objective C. The question is how slower AIR app will be. Can simple AIR apps be launched e.g.on iPhone 3G or iPAd 1?
And another question is, can arbitrary flash app be compiled into iOS native app?
I have tried the options given on Adobe Livedocs : adt -package -target native myApp.exe myApp.air, but I keep getting the message "-storetype required". I then try with adt -package -target native -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.air and get the same message. I have already created the .air file and the .p12 cert file in flexbuilder, and am just pointing to these in the command prompt in the specified places, but the same problem occurs. Any ideas?
