Jan 21, 2011I read almost everywhere that the wmode parameter had to be set to opaque (some said it could be either opaque or transparent). When setting this through the flashvars parameter (this is in Chrome btw) this did nothing. After a while of getting frustrated, I added it as a parameter itself through addParam, and hey presto now it works.Is this a simply a Chrome thing? FF it works seamlessly as it was. Even IE 7 and 8 are behaving slightly better. I wondered if this was a bug because supposedly adding a parameter to flashvars should do the trick.

Dec 17, 2011I am trying to get javascript to call a function in ActionScript and store the returned array. I have looked everywhere for help and i cant seem to get this to work. My actionscript is below:

There is a getDeviceFonts() method that works, and the .call function works too, calling the function within the javascript. However, when i try and call the getFonts method in javascript it dosent work. Relavent Javascript is as below:

Javascript 3 :: Can A JavaScript Function Detect Which Flash DOM Object Called It
May 20, 2011Here's the challenge: I have a Flash movie which will be embedded in a page using an unknown DOM ID that I want to be able to identify/store for callback in a JS function. My ideal user flow would be: User clicks button in Flash. Flash pauses any animations / video / sounds / etc. Flash calls an injected JS function to display a page-covering overlay experience. When user closes overlay experience, a callback method on the Flash object is called. Flash resumes playback.
The problem is, when AS3 uses the ExternalInterface.call("functionName", args...) method, there doesn't seem to be a DOM event triggered, and thus it is impossible to tell which object called a JS function, so having a "registerMe()" function doesn't seem to work. Basically, the injected JS function has no way to determine which DOM object to call, because the ID of the Flash object is unknown.

So i have flash file which has a close button. on click of that i am calling this function which closes this item. So issue is? Oct 20, 2011anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I edited a twitter widget javascript which search tweets based on the hashtag I needed then passing it on an array per tweet and then displaying it using a <div> it updates once every 5 minutes. Now I want to display those tweets on a dynamic text on Flash. Let's say I will have 5 dynamic text placed on my flash file then; I want each of those dynamic text to have the tweets I have based on on my HTML arrays to be displayed in random.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Calling A Function With An Array Variable As Arguments Is Resetting Array?
Oct 12, 2006I'm going to post the full code of the two functions, disregard the "fluff" unrelated to the two functions as it is all working flawless, I've tested this HEAVILY and cannot understand why it keeps setting the entire array to undefined!

Basically it's supposed to check to see if the file exists and return as true if it does and add it to a replace array, then the replace array is processed into a single string and put into a dialog box through the flash wrapper prompting them to "replace the files or not".
It makes the replace array just fine, it actually even has the right "count" in it but it's setting all the "filenames" to undefined because of the exists = processSearch function.
I even tried to make a new array and run the search just from that one and set the values from the old one and it's still failing.
Is it because of the "break" or can anyone figure it out? Iknow it's hard because you can't use the code

Php :: Get URL Param's To Flash?
May 5, 2011I'm working on a Flash website for a while now, but just now I noticed that the link doesn't change (that's normal for a Flash application). But the thing is, the website needs to be 'shareable'. So my problem is; How can I get a param from the URL and read it in Flash? For example, when the url is [URL] The Flash application has to know that the article is 245 so it can go to the right article instead of just the homepage. How can this be done? (By the way, I'm using actionscript 2)

I've embed dynamically(with swfobject) this swf to my page. It's ok. Then I send ajax-request to script, which reloading div with flash. Div is empty.
Experimentally I found out that I've trouble with relative paths. Flash file embed with this address ./swf/audio/player.swf and mp3-address is ./media/audio/user/1/random.mp3.

In Flash file -

Actionscript 3 :: Access Param Tag Within Another File
Oct 18, 2010Having some issues accessing my param tags from within actionscript. Essentially I have the following tag:
<param name="config" value="config" />
But I am unable to access it. There are two issues that I have, and I've been searching the internet high and low for the answers.
1) How do I even access the parameter? I have some people saying use _root.config, LoaderInfo(this.root.loaderInfo).parameters["config"], and just config. None work, and searching for this stuff is so hard because it's so generic.
2) I assume that once I do find out how to access the param that is being passed, I'm going to have issues with accessing it from another file because I read somewhere during my searching that other files do not have access to global variables. If this is the case, how do I do that? I have seen _globals thrown around a couple of times and some people say it works, some don't.
