I want to get all links in my flash object. I have a flash object (it's src is not in my site) on my page and its changing always. I need to get link on flash (link inside on flash).

Is there any way to mute other flash objects on the same page with ActionScript or Javascript? I can understand if this would be a security issue but my flash does have a user-initiated mode which takes over the screen and I was hoping this might be an exception where it's clear it has full priority for the user.

Following the official Shadowbox usage instructions, I appended just a few lines of CSS/JS:

And yet, when I click on my thumbnail, it does not generate a Shadowbox overlay. Instead, my browser follows an ordinary link to the animation. I've also tried Lightbox, Greybox, and Lightbox2, working at this problem for about twelve hours. My understanding of Javascript objects and classes is very limited. Web Development is not my career path.
I'd like to create a bunch of objects which the viewer can move around and, at any time, click on some text [within that object] to go to an external URL.
I can get objects to be moved around and can create URL request.I don't know how to combine the moveable object with an external link: for example, a black square with some white text - the whole thing can be moved and the white text is a link [to the web page].

I basically need to pass an array of objects to Flash from JavaScript in the Flash variables, so this is my code:

When I get the object in Flex, I simply get a String that looks like this: "[Object object], [Object object]" which leads me to believe that my array is being serialized into a String before entering Flash. Is there any known workaround?
And yes, I do need to pass Flash variables in this manner, since they'll key off some loading which is necessary to do before the application starts.
I'm looking for the javascript way to an associative map/array/hash that's using objects as keys. A replacement to what you can do in ActionScript 3 with the flash.utils.Dictionary. I'm sure java and C# have something like it too.It'd work same as a normal generic Object based assoc[key] but instead of string-based properties you use whole objects as keys (it will match not on toString() like Object does but on unique instance). View 1 Repliesi created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.

Here's the challenge: I have a Flash movie which will be embedded in a page using an unknown DOM ID that I want to be able to identify/store for callback in a JS function. My ideal user flow would be: User clicks button in Flash. Flash pauses any animations / video / sounds / etc. Flash calls an injected JS function to display a page-covering overlay experience. When user closes overlay experience, a callback method on the Flash object is called. Flash resumes playback.
The problem is, when AS3 uses the ExternalInterface.call("functionName", args...) method, there doesn't seem to be a DOM event triggered, and thus it is impossible to tell which object called a JS function, so having a "registerMe()" function doesn't seem to work. Basically, the injected JS function has no way to determine which DOM object to call, because the ID of the Flash object is unknown.

View 2 RepliesI'm writing some code in Flash MX 2004 and everything works fine except for the last button (4DSystemsProducts).According to the coding if none of the drop down buttons work it should go to products.php, but for some reason it goes to 4DSystemsProducts.php. All of the other menus are coded the same way and work fine, if I take out that button it works fine,or if I take out button 7 and switch 4DSystems to button 7 everything works.Here is the code to clear up this explanation. With all the recent hype about JavaScript and HTML5 replacing Flash, I wanted to know - How would it be possible to protect client-side js code? Of course, it is possible to obfuscate it, but that would only make it a little harder. Also, for games which submit high scores to the server, wouldn't it be incredibly easy to modify those scores before they are sent to the server? I know even Flash files can be decompiled, but they can be obfuscated and flash decompilation is not as easy as modifying data in JS - could be done easily using a plugin such as Firebug. I'd like to know everyone's views on this.
