Javascript :: Html - Resizing SWFs?

Feb 9, 2012

My client wants a silly intro page where, onClick, doors to a warehouse open into the warehouse itself (redirect into the website). I created a 1920 x 1174 SWF that does just so. It can be seen here. As you will notice, the backdrop of the warehouse and sky are included in the SWF. Just a minor question: is there a better way to do that? One thought was to crop the sky out of the SWF and make the animation smaller so it could be centered with CSS on the intro page. Then make the background-image the sky.

My big problem is the resizing. My (possibly ignorant) assumption is that if I make the SWF really large, it can be scaled down for different resolutions and the aspect ratio kept. I have tried both of the suggestions at www aleosoft com/flashtutorial_autofit.html and they wildly distort my SWF (which can be seen here). Is this because of my publishing settings?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing Loaded Swfs - Increase The Size Of The Stage Contents Only

Feb 1, 2012

I loaded a swf from external. using loader class. But if i check with the width and height of the loader is differes from loader.contentLoaderInfo.width.

loader.width // 1250;
loader.height // 750;
loader.contentLoaderInfo.width // 750;
loader.contentLoaderInfo.height //420;

From this statement i came to know the loader gets the width of all hidden objects, which are already outside of the stage area. But now I need to increase the size of the stage contents only..

Javascript :: Resizing Flash In IE8 Is Buggy

Jan 21, 2011

Problem When resizing a Flash object in IE, it's resize handler incorrectly thinks that only the stage width has been updated. Steps for reproducing the bug You roll over and click a Flash button The button makes an ExternalInterface call to JS. JS resizes Flash among other things. In all non-IE browsers, Flash is notified of the dimension change and executes its resize handler flawlessly. In IE8, the resize handler is called but is only its stage width has been updated. It still believes its height is the same. To finally get IE8's Flash to acknowledge its true height, roll your mouse out of the SWF.

Javascript :: Insert Javascript Functions To An HTML Document From The Child Flash Swf File?

Jan 29, 2012

I need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3.
I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.

Javascript :: Resizing Street View Object?

Mar 4, 2010

I have a (flex) app that, on the click of a button, resize a div (in javascript) at the bottom of the page and shows your position in google street view in it.

The things is that if I open the browser at 80% of width, click on the button and then maximize the window, the div won't take 100% of width. I have a function that his being called 'onResize' on the body tag of the page, but it doesn't seems to work. Here is the code :

function handleResize()
{
document.getElementById('streetviewDiv').style.width='100%';
}
...
<body onResize="handleResize()">

How can I achieve the auto-resize of the street view? There must be a specific id for that object so that we could get it by javascript, but I haven't found it.

I'm working on a kind of coverflow layout and I'm using an XML file to house my links and information about those links. in my ActionScript, I'm using getURL to point to the link the user clicks and open the link in a new window using the following script:

Javascript :: Dynamically Resizing Flash Object To Fill Window?

Jun 21, 2010

I have a Flash/Flex object (Flashlight-VNC), which I would like to dynamically resize to fit the entire window after pressing a button in the Flex app. This would preferably happen without restarting the Flex app (and therefore the VNC session). I would just use the built-in Flash fullscreen mode, however Adobe's somewhat silly security restrictions prevent keyboard input while in fullscreen mode.

How exactly can I do this? I'm already using SWFObject to embed the SWF, if that helps. I am open to any solution utilizing ActionScript, JavaScript, or both, however I am not all too familiar with ActionScript or Flex, and the AS-based solutions I have found involve extending a "Sprite" object to add resize functionality, which Flashlight-VNC does not seem to use.

Javascript :: Resizing / Cropping / Rotating And Adding Text To Images In Rails

Apr 20, 2011

I need to include a feature on an app I'm building that allows the user to upload an image and manipulate it in various ways including adding text. This is basically a way to design custom printed merchandise as is already found on many websites and will be overlayed on a background image of whatever is being customised e.g. T-Shirt.The basic requirements are: resize, crop and rotate image against background. Overlay and change position/colour/style of text against image. Preview the final design against the background.

I know that flash is possibly the best solution but I was really hoping to avoid it and use Jquery instead. While there is plenty out there for resizing and cropping images with javascript there doesn't seem to be anything that fits my needs.

HTML Page - MovieClipLoader And Resizing Stage

Aug 5, 2009

I'm currently trying to have a swf file to show up on an HTML page when the page initially loads. When the user clicks the close button (on the swf file), the swf disappears and the rest of the content on the HTML page shifts up. Similar idea to how CNN occassionally have their "breaking news" banner on their homepage. In order to do this, I thought of the idea of creating a 1x1 pixel main swf file containing a MovieClipLoader function to load the "content" onto the swf file.

As the user clicks on the close button, it will unload the external swf, returning back to the 1x1 main swf. However, how do I get the 1x1 main swf file to resize to the size of the external swf? and to do the reverse when the user clicks the close button? So far I have the MovieClipLoader function working, but not the resizing.
var myMCL:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
myMCL.loadClip("test.swf", "container");

ActionScript 3.0 :: Stage Resizing On "Clicked" External SWFs?

Aug 13, 2010

This has been bugging me for almost a week now. I hope I may find some assistance here. I've Googled for this and everytime I encounter an article with the solution and people saying it worked great for them, I'm pretty sure I did exactly what was instructed but mine is just weird.I hope you can try to look at my files and see what's wrong, anyway this is just a simulation of my real project (which has the same problem) at a very small scale so it should be very easy to look at. I believe it's so easy to solve but I just couldn't nail it. Here's a brief description.

There's this main.swf that loads two external swfs in a UILoader upon click of the corresponding button. By the way, the code inside the external swfs listens for a stage resize... So, when user clicks on button 1 (named "LOAD 1"), it loads "content1.swf". User decides to resize the window, and layout resizes accordingly (in this case, they all center horizontally). User clicks on button 2 (named "LOAD 2"), it loads "content2.swf". Everything looks fine, apparently. But when user tries to resize the window again, an error pops up in the Output panel.

Javascript :: Dynamically Loading SWFs Into A Container?

Aug 19, 2011

I'm writing a preview site that will load SWFs/images from a URL into a preview pane. However, the primary problem I'm running into is actually loading these SWFs. It seems that the object/embed tags require width/height attributes. I will not know the exact size of these SWFs; in fact, I will know absolutely nothing about them.

What I'm asking is, what is the best way to load in these SWFs? Is there a library that exists to do this? Or do I need to do it myself?

Css :: Auto-resizing Centered Embedded Flash (HTML)?

Dec 22, 2011

I am a motion media designer trying to incorporate some of my work for a client into a website for her Christmas gift. I am trying to resize a .swf to match the browser size, as the fixed size is really messing with my otherwise-resizing layout. Every time I set the width/height of the .swf to "100%" or "auto", the movie gets cut off at the top and bottom under the div containers. When I change the size of the container to 100%, I get a long, thin movie. I've copied my code below, Feel free to criticize anything else about my code, too--I'm a CSS virgin.

Javascript :: Resizing Div With Js From Flash Makes Flash Appear To Freeze In Chrome?

For some reason after the div is shrunk back down to size, the flash player looks like it's frozen. It's actually not frozen because if you resize the window the flash player starts playing again and you can see it had made progress since it appeared frozen. This only happens in chrome. Does anyone have any idea why something like this might happen?The site so you can check it out yourself(yes I know it's a broken mess in IE, but I'm kind of ignoring that for now):[code]I've tried different window modes but that doesn't help. The problem is when it resizes the div back down because if I comment that line out the flash never appears to freeze. But I need to be able to resize the div...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Cannot Embed Multiple SWFs Into HTML File

Jan 10, 2009

The site referenced can be found [URL] I need to embed multiple .swf files into an html file. I
prefer using swfObject. Here's what the code looks like now:

<!-- l4dt_header.swf start -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars = {};
var params = {};
params.menu = "false";
[Code] .....

What happens is one of the embededd swfs ends up overriding the other. I also need the rotating movie clip to pulse, on and off, and bright lime green. I'm aware of the glow filter in actionscript 3,
filters = [new GlowFilter(0x5d7c00,1,6,6,2,3)];,
but how would I get it to pulse?

Then if you go to the site [URL] you'll see a green cloud as that is part of the swf. I want to create the same toxic warning symbol that is rotating in the center, but much smaller, and multiple instances of it, flashing in and out at random locations in the green cloud. Then I'll be creating a Flash App where a user can can layered "posters". Is this code sufficient for allowing the user to be able to move those individual layers in perspective to the whole
App?

MC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,
function(evt:MouseEvent):void{
MC.startDrag();
});
MC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,
function(evt:MouseEvent):void{
MC.stopDrag();});
