Javascript :: Looping A Video In Flash?
Jun 9, 2010
I am trying to loop a video and i am having some issues with this in flash. Here the specific code for the flash video:
<script language="javascript">
if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) {
alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.");
} else {
[code]....
Additionally, i have added in the parameter code that calls the loop function but for some reason it still doesnt seem to work.

So i have been working on a project, its a digital portfolio. Now I have the Host Movie and and then I have a submovie which is loaded into the Host movie. That all works fine!
I have embedded a video onto the stage and when I click the exit button to go back to my host the video still plays. Here is my code.
function exit(event:MouseEvent):void {
var parentObj:Object=this.parent.parent;
parentObj.closeMovie();
}
[Code].....
I also have 3 other objects in the submovie which loads 3 other sub movies.
Inception!
They work fine, but yet again the video still plays in the background.

I'm having great problems getting Javascript to resume a flash file.The flash file loads up and the video is set to autoplay false. For some reason, any Javascript is not recognising the AS3 function. It keeps saying the function is undefined. e.g.
function getFlashMovie(movieName) {
var isIE = navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1;
return (isIE) ? window[movieName] : document[movieName];

how to get Javascript in an HTML page containing an FLV video to listen for cue points in the video? I understand how to get the cue points in, but most people only seem to want to handle the cue point events within Flash. I want to use Javascript to display a different text in a page element at each point. Does the method vary depending on what player you're using? How about when it's the standard Flash playback component? Does there need to be any special Actionscript in the SWF containing the FLV?

I have an AJAX web service call that returns a chunk of HTML that I then apply to a DIV element on my page.This works fine for any html element except a flash video which comes up with 'Movie not loaded'.I've double-checked the html that is being returned and it's all fine, and it works if I don't use AJAX, but when I use AJAX and then add it using JS it doesn't seem to attempt to load the playlist.

I have a video playing on my page. I want to show and hide some div's when the video reaches a certain point. Lets say hide something on 10th second and show it again on 20th second.I can easily do it in HTML5 with video tag and currentTime attribute but for IE I have to create the same functionality and I think with flash based videos (from YouTube or something like that).Is there a way to detect the current time of a video playing on my website, embeded from YouTube, Metacafe or any other video sharing site?I know I could detect it in flash and make it run some JavaScript function but I don't have flash nor have the skills to do it in AS3.

I have a SWF loaded via a "swfobject.embedSWF()"I use Javascript's methods to pass calls via the flash APIs:call.player.sendEvent('LOAD', theFile)Using a XMLHttpRequest() call via GET to a PHP script I get a file url:Typing the URL into my browser starts the file, but passing the variable to the sendEvent() call does nothing. Why?
var response = http.responseText;
loadFile(response);
player.sendEvent('PLAY');

I have a flash video player in a div inside a webpage, I'm trying to create a button that will resize this div to fill the whole page and hide everything else behind it. Has anyone tried to do it?Problems:1. It causes the flash to reload and the video to restart2. In some cases a flash banner from the webpage overlays my video player no matter what z-index I give it.

I'm looking for a Flash video player that is able to stream m4v files on all browsers. Example file: [URL]
Unfortunately, I can't convert the format since it originates from 3rd party servers. I can't rely on HTML5 video since not all browsers support this format and the encoding it contains.
I've already tried several players such as JW Player, Kaltura, Video JS, Projekktor, and more. Testing them with Firefox and IE, some of them couldn't play the m4v file at all, while others downloaded the entire file before starting to play it.

I'm trying to create an overlay containing a flash player that is shown when a user clicks on a link. The div containing the player starts with display:none in CSS. Upon clicking, the div will be shown, and JS will use ExternalInterface to configure and start the player. The JS configures the player when it catches a "flash ready" event, which is fired by Flash on ADDED_TO_STAGE.All this works, except that the ExternalInterface callbacks are never created. The JS and AS3 work fine if the player is shown upon page load, or is hidden with visibility:hidden instead of display:none. I am aware that Flash will not be initialized with display:none, and this works as expected: when the Flash is unhidden, it fires its events and correctly initializes everything else (eg. GUI, other internal stuff). The only thing that doesn't happen as expected is that my ExternalInterface callbacks are not added.
ExternalInterface.available is true. It's not a timing problem, because even after several minutes the callbacks are still not present. The strangest bit is that the flash is able to call JS, fires JS events fine, and the code to fire the events comes after the code to add the callbacks. There are no errors thrown by any of the AS3 code. I'm seeing this problem in both Chrome and Firefox.

Is it possible to, using javascript, either create video data on the fly, or more likely download pieces of video data from various sources and feed them to a flash player instance.
Even better, is it possible to feed a html5 video stream from locally executed javascript?

i'm using the XML Video Playlist tutorial and have it working like a charm, but my issue is that once a video is done playing, i'd like it to stop. Instead, it starts the video over. i tried adapting the Code: Select allfunction restartIt() {ns.seek(0); by giving a false value, but it didn't change anything. I also added a Code: Select all<param name="loop" value="false" /> to my web page, but that didn't help.

I'm trying to create an AS3 app with looping, seamless video background. The background is loaded from an flv. The problem thus far is with the seamless bit, because all the video looping tactics I've come accross regarding AS3 always seem to have that short but noticeable pause at the end of the video before going back to the beginning and playing again.
The best way I've determined to deal with this is to play a video and buffer the video frames as BitmapData objects into a queue of a defined length (without adding the video to stage). This way Rendering the video would then really involve popping each of those BitmapDatas into a Bitmap object attached to my stage in a timed manner, which then gets drawn.
Sort of like:
/*VideoBufferer loops the input video and queues frames and then updates*/
var vidbuffer:VideoBufferer = new MyVideo("video.flv",outputImage)
var outputImage:Bitmap = new Bitmap();
stage.addChild(outputImage);
//forgive syntax, this is pseudoCode
timed process that happens X times per second{
outputImage.bitmapData = vidbuffer.popBitmapData();
//returns bitmap data from the queue }
I don't care about sound. However I seem to not know how to implement this desired VideoBufferer class as I don't know how to play a video without adding it to stage and grabbing frames from it. How to implement the frame grabbing side of VideoBufferer?
