Loaded Swf GotoAndPlay Works Everywhere But Off Intranet Server?
Jun 24, 2009
I am loading into my movie a super simple test swf ... a moving box over 100 frames that stops at frame 100 .... once its loaded I just move it out of site so I don't reload it ... when its turn comes up again I bring it into position and send a gotoAndPlay(1) code to it ... here's the weird part it works on my server, as well as in Flash dev environment but when the swf comes off of our corp intranet server it plays fine but that code does nothing
I have an animation inside a movieclip thats located on the main timeline. There is a stop on the first frame of the movieclip, and whenever I try to do the _root.MC.gotoAndPlay(2) it will play like one frame then stop.
I have a swf movie that loads to my main scene using a preload. I have a button found on the main scene. When that button is pressed I would like to use the GotoAndPlay command to play a specific frame in that movie. How do I do this. my swf is called inter_mc.swf. I created a function for the button but somehow Im thinking I need to designate the swf in the goto code. This isn't working but it is what I have so far.
I have my main movie that has a container movieclip called vulture_container_mc. That container MC loads "vulture_mc.swf" into it. There is a button on the main movie that loads that swf into the container MC. I did the if statement in the beginning so the person couldn't keep reloading the animation when you click on the button over and over. It works so they can't do that, but now they can only press the button once, after that one time the button doesn't work.
Here is the main movie I'm talking about:
>>Main Movie<<
The vulture animation when you click the email button is the external swf file. I would like to make it where they can't keep reloading the animation (which works with the if statement, but I also need it so you can press the email button again after the animation is done to cause the vulture animation and email link to work again.
Here's the code in the email button:
Code: on (release) { if (vultureClicked == 0) { loadMovie("vulture_mc.swf", "_root.vulture_container_mc");

We did a Flash presentation for a client and at the end of the presentation we trigger a getURL command that is supposed to take them to their intranet. The client is saying "it isn't working", what that means I'm not sure. So I sent her the same link in an email and said click this and tell me what happens. She said "it worked".So my question is what could be causing this.
Code: getURL("http://clientsite.com/page.asp","_blank");Could it have anything to do with A. The _blank targetB. Something to do with their servers that they aren't allowing people in from an "outside" link.
I'm stuck with this because it worked from the email.
I have an swf loaded into _level0. On button release I want gotoAndPlay a certain frame label in an swf loaded into an MC named Host on _level0 to. I have the following:
on (release) { _level0.host.gotoAndPlay("Main", "MainStart"); unloadMovieNum (2); }
The unload part looks fine, and I am back to my orginal page. But the page did not jump to 'MainStart'. What am I forgetting?
I am writing a peer-to-peer binary socket program. There are only two endpoints. One socket is listening on my laptop system. The other socket is broadcasting from my desktop system. I have a third program running on a hosted server, that is available to broker the connection between the two. My problem is that when the laptop and desktop are on the same network, they both have the same internet IP address but different intranet IPs, but when the laptop is on the road, then the IP addresses are different. In order to be truly peer-to-peer, I have to write it so that after the connection is established, that the two computers communicate directly between one another. How is this generally accomplished, when the two computers could potentially share the same IP address, if they are running on the same network?
i have a movie that loads a 2nd movie on a button action. The second movie has some other buttons ("co" & "me") that makes some text pop up with easing. This is the code below. The problem is, the second swf works by itself, but not when loaded into the main swf. I've tried changing _root to _parent as well as various others, but to no avail? Is _root my problem??
We currently have a corporate intranet built with ASP.NET and originally designed for IE. One of the purposes of the intranet is to manage file versioning and to launch programs with the current file version. This requires the intranet to start processes on the machine locally, and is done using ActiveX.
We are now reworking the intranet to be as browser-neutral as possible, but this local application launching thing has us stumped. Can anyone suggest a browser-neutral way to start processes locally? This is strictly for internal use on a corporate LAN with computers that are authenticated on a Windows domain.
Possibilities that we've floated, in rough order of preference:

Anyone have any thoughts on what is likely to work and be not a huge PITA to implement?
Im having issues with a loaded swf which works stand alone and after alot of googeling, it also works in flash cs5 the original problem was that it lost its stage after being loaded and there for it wouldnt work then i found this code:
if (stage){ stage.align = StageAlign.TOP; stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
And it now works in flash but when i test the main.swf in debugger and load this swf into it it dosent work and throws the sandbox security error. 2070.
This is the script in the loaded swf:
if (stage){ stage.align = StageAlign.TOP; stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE; }
I would like to add preloader with progress bar to my AS3 page. It's an image gallery. The preloader is on frame 1 and the content is on frame 2. It seems like that the loader works after all the content is loaded. And the progress bar doesn't appear on the screen. What am I doing wrong? For the quick view, the code is below. I also attach the code. To make it simple, I am testing the code with just one image.
I have a mp3 player that i purchased from a site. It works fine on my local drive but when uploaded to a server (and I've tried both Linux & Windows) doesn't work. It loads in setting & the mp3 file names from an XML file. I was able to verify that the XML data is in fact loading. The hitch seems to come when trying to create and load the XML data into an XML object.I added text field & changed the value of the text property at different points of the script to narrow down where the script gets stuck. The exact line of code that doesn't run from the server is:
Code:
var xml:XML = new XML(e.target.data);
I tried adding a crossdomain.xml file that allowed all domains but that didn't seem to help. Below is the code that loads the XML file & calls a function when loaded with the offending line of code.And my test site is here: SWF
Code:
public function MusicPlayer() { //Security to load music Security.allowDomain("*");[code]..............
I'm working on a website ([URL] - don't think the flash file can be seen in FF yet) and I want to load an swf-file with some illustrations and such. As this could get a little big, I have made another swf-file which shows a preloader and loads the first swf-file. The preloader works perfectly when tested in Flash CS3, but when uploaded to and tried on my webhost's server, the preloader doesn't load anything. Instead it of the load-percentage it just writes "NaN". You can find the as3-code down below. The preloader-swf and the swf to be loaded are located in the same folder. Both are as3.
This is the code from my as-class file: package classes{ // Imports necessary classes import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.text.TextField; import flash.events.Event; [Code] .....
I have a big problem with preloader for my flash site. It works on one server but when i try it on another server it does not work. On site where it does not work it displays Infinity in IE and all the time 100% in firefox but in flash when traced preloader works and on another server too. It is the same file.Is there any specific function or mode that server must have or enable for a preloader to work.

not working

It is really annoying since the one not working is where i am hosting my page.
This isse occurs in flash player 10.2 but not in 10.1. Im sorry if my rusty english is making this hard to understand. I have an issue that causes my hair to turn grey. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks share from http. I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL] That swf tries to access/stream/load a flv file on a network share unc path:[URL] I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. I catn even load an image from that share. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single back slashes. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that network as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, I can provide you with more info if you want to.
We would like to build a flash video player into our corporate intranet site, currently we are evaluating JW Player and have come across and issue accessing the FLV files stored on a mirrored share drive that all users have access to on the local intranet.From what I can tell the Adobe flash plugin will not allow a SWF file hosted 'online' (intranet) to access a shared directory that the user has access to. Is there any way around this?
For some reason i'm having problems swapping scenes in my flash movie. At first i put the action in a "actions" named layer and a link to a button. So basicly when scene1 loads the frame 1 action is "stop ();". The viewer clicks on button1 which has a code of;
So I have an html file with a swf in the center which loads pictures and text via XML. It works fine on my own computer but on the actual site it doesn't load the pictures or text it, in any browser.
I created a textfield on stage, set it as dynamic, put a UIScrollBar next to it , with component inspector I set scrollTargetName to the instance name of the textfield then I wrote these actions:
var externalReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("loremIpsum.txt");var externalLoad:URLLoader = new URLLoader();externalLoad.load(externalReq);externalLoad.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, textReady);function textReady(event:Event):void { theText.text = event.target.data;}
Ot works on pc just fine. When I upload the swf and the text file to my godaddy linux hosting account the scroller doesn't work.example on server: [URL]the text you see displayed is only about a quarter of the file, I should be able to scroll through it.
I need a solution for this: when the port 1935 is closed, the NetConnection switch rtmpt (port 80). The NetConnection class built in function: proxyType="HTTP" not works or I use not rightly.In the FLVPlayback class works this function, but I don't know how..
