Aug 16, 2007We did a Flash presentation for a client and at the end of the presentation we trigger a getURL command that is supposed to take them to their intranet. The client is saying "it isn't working", what that means I'm not sure. So I sent her the same link in an email and said click this and tell me what happens. She said "it worked".So my question is what could be causing this.

getURL("http://clientsite.com/page.asp","_blank");Could it have anything to do with A. The _blank targetB. Something to do with their servers that they aren't allowing people in from an "outside" link.
I'm stuck with this because it worked from the email.
Flex :: Completing A Socket Connection Across An Intranet Or Internet
Feb 12, 2010I am writing a peer-to-peer binary socket program. There are only two endpoints. One socket is listening on my laptop system. The other socket is broadcasting from my desktop system. I have a third program running on a hosted server, that is available to broker the connection between the two. My problem is that when the laptop and desktop are on the same network, they both have the same internet IP address but different intranet IPs, but when the laptop is on the road, then the IP addresses are different. In order to be truly peer-to-peer, I have to write it so that after the connection is established, that the two computers communicate directly between one another. How is this generally accomplished, when the two computers could potentially share the same IP address, if they are running on the same network?

Sep 15, 2010We currently have a corporate intranet built with ASP.NET and originally designed for IE. One of the purposes of the intranet is to manage file versioning and to launch programs with the current file version. This requires the intranet to start processes on the machine locally, and is done using ActiveX.
We are now reworking the intranet to be as browser-neutral as possible, but this local application launching thing has us stumped. Can anyone suggest a browser-neutral way to start processes locally? This is strictly for internal use on a corporate LAN with computers that are authenticated on a Windows domain.
Possibilities that we've floated, in rough order of preference:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Not Loading Videos From A Network Share (unc Path) Into Swf On Http Intranet
May 17, 2011This isse occurs in flash player 10.2 but not in 10.1. Im sorry if my rusty english is making this hard to understand. I have an issue that causes my hair to turn grey. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks share from http. I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL] That swf tries to access/stream/load a flv file on a network share unc path:[URL] I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. I catn even load an image from that share. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single back slashes. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that network as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, I can provide you with more info if you want to.
Flash :: Playing FLV Files On Local Share Drive From Intranet Site?
Jul 1, 2010We would like to build a flash video player into our corporate intranet site, currently we are evaluating JW Player and have come across and issue accessing the FLV files stored on a mirrored share drive that all users have access to on the local intranet.From what I can tell the Adobe flash plugin will not allow a SWF file hosted 'online' (intranet) to access a shared directory that the user has access to. Is there any way around this?

Now, I'm trying to get the server-side ASC code to call something from a connected client. It doesn't seem to work (thought everything else works beautifully). I've tried stuff like the following in the server side:
- In the application.onConnect function, I've tried this:

(Where reqHandler is just some handler that I know gets called).
- I've also tried the following code outside the onConnect function:

Both seem to fire appropriately (when triggered from another client). However, the "requestWaiting" method call to the clients doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried some AS 2 examples on the client side, like:

When I compile the flash movie, pressing Record button gives me a new ID every time the page called. Every thing is fine.
But the problem is, when I embed the SWF in a browser, or let say, when tested in localhost, the flash makes a call to the .NET page for the first time, but not later, and the ID being the same as first, the recorded streams are over writing. I want it to be unique every time user records a stream.
What may be the problem, when embedded in browser, flash calling the .NET page only once and not later.

Nov 13, 2009The company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing.

On my local serveur1, i add some code to do that but whitout succes...
i can RePublish when i simulate the second Server(2) on my LocalHost BUT withOut the FCPublish Method.. (i use the sample from Adobe Flash Media Server "Publishing server 2 server")
How can i change this sample to use the FCPublish method to republish the stream to Server2 ?
with my tests, i think that my problem is how to receive the "onFCPublish = netstream.publish.start" from the server2 to my server1

So can anyone helps me about comparing this two versions: Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive server, like if I use Flash Media Streaming Server, some function like NetStream.pause() may not work or something like that? I'm not sure if this is a foolish question but please let me know.

Jul 7, 2009I have installed the FMS 3.5 Server on a separate IP from our main Apache Server: The server is running Redhat Linux 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5
FMS 3.5 running on ***.***.**.138 using ports 1935, 8080 (Admin Server using port 1111)
Apache 2 running on ***.***.**.139 using port 80, 443. (several sites setup on this IP)
However, when accessing the fms_adminConsole.htm in the root directory of one of the domains on ***.***.**.139, all login attempts fail. I am connecting to localhost and using the assigned user and password set up in fms.ini. Using either IP fails as well. The FMS server is set up to listen to all hosts as no specific IPs were set.
/var/log/messages show that FMS and the Admin Server are up an running and listening:

All other settings for FMS are default. It is a managed server is hosted by rackspace.com if that makes any difference.
Media Server :: Stream.play On Server Side Makes Video Choppy?

When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.

Jun 29, 2010i have a small LAN of about 8 computers all of which are running windows 7. I have installed FMS and XAMPP webserver on one of the machines. I want to stream live from one PC to all the other PCs on the LAN. I have a webpage with jwplayer embedded in it on my XAMPP webserver that is able to see the live stream when i start it locally. I mean the live stream works fine on the machine with the servers on it. But when i want to view the live stream from another machine in the LAN by accessing the webpage that has the jwpalyer from another machine, The jwplayer returns "server not found:rtmp://192.168.10.1/live" error. I was thinking that maybe a firewall is blocking the 1935 port but i have turned off the firewall of every PC on the LAN. I have unistalled any antivirus program on all the PCs. But i still get the same error when i try to access the live stream from another PC on the LAN.When i run netstat -a -n|find ":1935" i get 192.168.10.2:49184 192.168.10.1:1935 SYN_SENT and i think the request for the stream is sent but the conection is rejected.

Media Server :: NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW When Streaming Server Side Playlist?
Sep 23, 2010I am streaming pre recorded audio files (mp4) to an AIR client. I have tried two different solutions,
streaming the file directly with the NetStream.play("mp4:xxxxx.m4a") and creating a server side playlist, adding the same sound clip and then streaming the playlist. The problem is, when streaming the playlist i get a few NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW, this does not happen when streaming the file direct. Both solutions uses bufferTime=1.0
I would like to use a server side playlist to implement a simple key solution so that the client dont know the full path to the file, but instead sends a key to a custom server side function that looks up the file path and creates a stream for the client.
Media Server :: RTMFP Unicast For A Video Chat Project Using FM Developer Server 4.0?
Oct 7, 2010I am testing RTMFP unicast for a video chat project using FM Developer Server 4.0.During the testing I overloaded the upload traffic to make packets dropped rather than suffering delay due to retransmission.
However, I see it makes a significant delay and it looks like doing retransmission just like RTMP.
Do you know if there is an option in FMS to disable the retransmission or other configuration I have to consider?One thing I found is "Netstream.videoReliable=false; Netstream.audioReliable=false;" but it doesn't make any difference.
