View 1 RepliesI have an ArcGIS map created with Flex. The labels created dynamically are the towns on the map. We have some PDF files that have some information about the towns on the map.
Is there a way to make those town labels clickable so that they can display the PDF information on a new page?
I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?
View 2 RepliesDoes anyone know if there is a way to make the new Package Explorer window in Flash Builder emulate Flex Builders 'Flex navigator' window?
Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I need to create a link to a particular frame that uses a frame label in AS2, so the AS code would be within the time line on another frame. I can either do this with a hyperlink if that is possible or I can create a button and convert to a MC. Whichever way is easier.
View 4 RepliesI know this sounds confusing but it's really a simple question. You can follow my site to better understand. [URL]
If you click on "Films" a submenu appears. I want all of these submenu buttons to link to (u-stu.com/films.html) but each go to a specific frame label in the .swf located within [URL]

When setting up a source control repository for a Flex Builder workspace, what do you consider to be worth checking in? Do you exclude the workspace .metadata folder but keep the .project and other project specific files? Keep both? Throw away both? Is there a guideline you use to decide which is worth holding onto or do you do it out of practical experience?

How do you define a relative link to the source of a linked library in Flash Builder (4).
I have a swc folder defined for a project. I want to link one of the contained swcs to it's associated source. This works fine except that the path stored in the .actionScriptProperties file is absolute. Here you can see the linked lib:

I can't seem to generate any output when including the "link-report" compiler commands in Flash Builder 4.5. I've tried several different syntaxes that I've seen online:
-linkreport filename.xml
-link-report=filename.xml
-link-report C:fullpathfilename.xml
-link_report filename.xml
But absolutely nothing gets created when I run, build, or debug the project. Other application settings perhaps? The project is relatively young and doesn't have many custom settings so I'm thinking it is maybe application or config related?
I want to link a button in my main timeline to a label- frame in a movie clip. The movie clip is called "Adetail" and the label is "on01"... I type in the following script

i have a friend who are dentist and ive agreed to do a web site for him. I do it in cs4. Like so: ive made a pretty simple and nice layout i plan to use for all pages with some images an so on .Now ive made lots of buttons wich all opens in a timeline nice and slow (not to slow). On the index page i have a menu called "treatments" wich requir some room. I want to make a button called "treatments" wich can open and collaps to 3-4 minor buttons wich then again can link to diffrent pages describing different treatments. Now i need the treatment button to open up the 3-4 minor buttons one by one smooth(tweened with the alpha slider) with same frame rate as the other ones on the page and collaps again.

Flash newbie here. I wanted to create a basic flash countdown widget to use on a site I run so I started googling and found a template I liked. After messing around with it and whipping up a quick background in Photoshop, I got something that looked decent. The template uses Action Script 2.0, but it seems to work ok. I went through it and customized the date and countdown text color so I don't have to use any variables in the embed code.
The problem I am facing now is I want the whole flash file to be a link in case someone else takes it and decided to embed it on their site, it at least links back to mine. I put an invisible rectangle over the whole project and inserted this AS

View 1 RepliesIm trying to make two buttons for my artefact to link to facebook and twitter, but it doesn't work. I've got no error messages or anything, I just click the button and it doesn't do anything
The code is the following:
BTN_FACEBOOK.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, FacebookClick);
function FacebookClick(event:MouseEvent):void{
var getFacebook:URLRequest = new URLRequest("[URL]");

Trying to make it so when you click anywhere on the flash file, it loads a specific website. It works when I go to File > Preview > Flash, but if I try and preview in html it doesn't navigate anywhere. My actionscript is:
Code:
myButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick);
function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void {

I am pulling my hair out trying to make my simple flash file link to a URL and nothing I have tried will work. I am making a transparent box on the top layer of my file, making it a movie clip and adding the code
on (press){
getURL("http://www.trimergence.com/staging/news.html");
}
The action says it has no errors, but when I export the move, my cursor turns to a hand but goes no where when I click.
I want to make it so when the visitor hovers over each navigation link the icon changes from a stop sign to a go sign
how to go about doing this. I have watched tutorials and read up on the internet
I am pretty rusty when it comes to action script. I am using CS3 and want to have an XML file that has the links likeimported into the flash so when a button is clicked it will go there...I have looked at numerous examples but all are too complicated for what i want to do.I will pay someone via paypal if they want to do this quick fix for me... I can send the file... should be strait forward for someone knowing waht they are doing

I am creating this animation. When you click on a button I want it to use facebox to use a pop up. I was talking to my coder friend and he gave me this code to maybe useSo I am trying to basically use this kind of coding into flash. The only thing is that I am not that great a coding so I have no idea what I am doing. The only coding that I have is a stop (); at the end of the animation so it doesn't loop.
View 1 RepliesI have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn
View 3 RepliesI have recently purchased a XML based template and need to make an existing XML link goto an internal menu page. I have been able to create buttons in the flash template itself using action script with no problems. In my site I have several buttons that say more, so in the XML document it has these internal links, asfunction:_root.more_click_func,1. So what I am trying to do is have thiese links goto the contact page, so I assumed it was simple as directing the asfunction to the internal menu which is 6 but it doe snot work.
asfunction: "6"
asfunction: contact
I am trying to figure out how to make buttons on my flash file link to URLs that appear in a window of fixed dimensions (with scroller bars) next to my Flash window. I am aware that Adobe has instructions for creating pop-up browser windows through Flash [URL]. However, what I'm trying to do is a bit more complicated, since I want to have multiple embedded invisible buttons in the Flash window that each take you to a specific URL when you click on them. Alternatively I'd be happy if any button click resulted in a link to a random selection from a pre-programmed list of URLs. This is for ActionScript 3.
