I want to make it so when the visitor hovers over each navigation link the icon changes from a stop sign to a go sign
how to go about doing this. I have watched tutorials and read up on the internet
I am working on our new website and have purchased an animated flash template. I have very limited experience of Flash and use Dreamweaver as my every day web tool.
I have modified most of the template but have a frustration with some animated buttons pointing to the same page even though I think i have programmed CS5 to point it to different pages. In the middle of each page is 3 boxes which have 3 Read me buttons... each should point to a different page.

It has absolutely got me beaten. I have copied the buttons and their animations, renamed all elements of the button but something is clearly linking them together.
I have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way?
View 4 RepliesI installed a flash template. It has navigation buttons with a nice roll-over effect. The buttons are all located within a symbol called "menu" (it is a Movie Clip type symbol, not a Button type). Each individual button in the menu appear to be in its own separate layer, so the first button is in a layer called "item1, second button in "item2", and so on. I want to edit the link for the fourth button so it goes to another website but I can't seem to find the code to edit the link. I managed to find

and this does work - upon pressing the button it goes to the website link. However, there is no more roll-over effect for this button. So there has to be an alternative or better way to editing the link for this button (without removing the roll-over effect).
I'm wondering how to make a link in Flash Professional 8?

I've followed different tutorials, and right now I'm trying to use an animated movie clip with an "invisible" button over it. I want the animation to swap frames when the button is clicked, and I also want the music to toggle on/off when the button is clicked.For example:When the button is pressed, the animation switches to say "press to turn off music" and the music turns on.But so far, the button isn't working, and the animation won't stop switching frames even when I enter the "stop();" code.Does anyone have any idea how to make it so that the button works together with the animation and music?

I have a few questions on creating some animated buttons for a nav. There are 2 actions I want to trigger on moue over. If I want to use a static (PNG) image that I created in Photoshop for the actual button, can I use that? I want to smoothly slide button down on mouse-over and slide back up on mouse off. If I push part of the button off the "canvas" (sorry, this is coming from a Photoshop guy) will it disappear in the final animation? Another way to put that is, if I put an animated element off the white area, will it no longer show up in the movie (.swf) when it's published?
For the second part; you can see a bit of what I want to do if you look at this website's top Nav: [URL] I need the "light" above the button and it's going to be on another colored <div> so I can't set one solid BG color for my flash document. But I want to achieve the effect of the "bar" lighting up above the button and the actual button sliding down upon moue over.
I have been trying to add a link to an animated button. I have it as a symbol for button and within the button symbol I have another movie clip symbol for the mouse over it will animate. I am trying to add a link to the animated button but it won't allow me to add actionscript when I get into the button symbol for the UP, DOWN, OVER, HIT, but it will allow me to add actionscript when I am in the scene. I have tried a few different actionscripts in the scene but it seems there is always an error and the movie clip keeps repeating the movie when I have it only running once, but when I remove the hyperlink actionscript the movie over runs once like I want it to.

When the buttons are clicked, I have a movie clip with all the content which goes to a specific frame label depending on which button is clicked. Very simple, no problems there. But what I can't figure out how to do, is to add a variable so that when each button is clicked, it stays in the over state until another button is clicked (at which point I'd like it to go to the out state, while the new button would go to the over state.)I found several examples of codes that do this, but I can't figure out how to modify them so that when a button is clicked, it also goes to a specific frame label in the content movie clip, so that the content for each section can be displayed the same way is in the original version.[code]

View 1 RepliesI'm making an xml slideshow width 2 navigation arrows. I have loaded either the xml and the images. The problem is this: in the first frame i have a movieclip called "foto1" in which i load the first photo and underneath this i have another movieclip called "foto3". I load the two photos and i fade "foto1" to "foto3". after i'm going to the second frame in wich i have "foto3" and underneath this "foto1". I've loaded "foto3" but when the movie go to the second frame "foto3" contains nothing.

I think the issue is that I can't figure out how to code it due to the fact that there are a good amount of nested movie clips, I'm not sure how to direct it to the place and frame I want.

I used flash banner at html page in a iframe. But when I clicked at another navigation link (like index to contact page). flash reloads. & it takes time for low bandwidth user. Is there any solution that, i can go at any page without refresh whole page...(not reload flash). I don't want to reload flash when I click at another link.

Like so: ive made a pretty simple and nice layout i plan to use for all pages with some images an so on .Now ive made lots of buttons wich all opens in a timeline nice and slow (not to slow). On the index page i have a menu called "treatments" wich requir some room. I want to make a button called "treatments" wich can open and collaps to 3-4 minor buttons wich then again can link to diffrent pages describing different treatments. Flash newbie here. I wanted to create a basic flash countdown widget to use on a site I run so I started googling and found a template I liked. After messing around with it and whipping up a quick background in Photoshop, I got something that looked decent. The template uses Action Script 2.0, but it seems to work ok. I went through it and customized the date and countdown text color so I don't have to use any variables in the embed code.
The problem I am facing now is I want the whole flash file to be a link in case someone else takes it and decided to embed it on their site, it at least links back to mine. I put an invisible rectangle over the whole project and inserted this AS
