i'm making an animated rollover, and i get an output error that says this: Target not found: Target="_root.icon01" Base="_level0" i have no idea what the base="_level0" means.

I would like it to accept that second rollover only when the first one is finished. I mean, I want the first to be finished before it accepts another rollover.I know it is simple to solve this with a tween using frames instead of as, but I was wondering if someone knows how to adapt the script.

I have an issue with an animated rollover/out state that I have created. I have seven movieclips that I am using as buttons and when rolled over/out play a different frame of the MC and move all the other mc's with an actionscript tween. The code works as it should but when I try to rollover/out of the mc to quickly the whole thing goes haywire and all the clips get out of place. I have tried to disable the buttons as soon as the user rollover on the mc but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I am only posting the code for one of the mc (publicist_btn) since all the code for the rest are the same.

I have an animation about 30 frames long, the dimensions are 500x700 pixels.I want to use swf instead of gif because of better quality. So should I use png's or jpeg's to animate the swf?Which format does flash like better?

View 4 RepliesI'm jew to Flash and I'm trying to make an animated button in Flash CS5 that has the ability to turn music on/off. I've followed different tutorials, and right now I'm trying to use an animated movie clip with an "invisible" button over it. I want the animation to swap frames when the button is clicked, and I also want the music to toggle on/off when the button is clicked.For example:When the button is pressed, the animation switches to say "press to turn off music" and the music turns on.But so far, the button isn't working, and the animation won't stop switching frames even when I enter the "stop();" code.Does anyone have any idea how to make it so that the button works together with the animation and music?
View 2 RepliesI have a few questions on creating some animated buttons for a nav. There are 2 actions I want to trigger on moue over. If I want to use a static (PNG) image that I created in Photoshop for the actual button, can I use that? I want to smoothly slide button down on mouse-over and slide back up on mouse off. If I push part of the button off the "canvas" (sorry, this is coming from a Photoshop guy) will it disappear in the final animation? Another way to put that is, if I put an animated element off the white area, will it no longer show up in the movie (.swf) when it's published?
For the second part; you can see a bit of what I want to do if you look at this website's top Nav: [URL] I need the "light" above the button and it's going to be on another colored <div> so I can't set one solid BG color for my flash document. But I want to achieve the effect of the "bar" lighting up above the button and the actual button sliding down upon moue over.

I have a website with a very simple code that gives all the buttons in the menu an animated rollover and rollout state. When the buttons are clicked, I have a movie clip with all the content which goes to a specific frame label depending on which button is clicked. Very simple, no problems there. But what I can't figure out how to do, is to add a variable so that when each button is clicked, it stays in the over state until another button is clicked (at which point I'd like it to go to the out state, while the new button would go to the over state.)I found several examples of codes that do this, but I can't figure out how to modify them so that when a button is clicked, it also goes to a specific frame label in the content movie clip, so that the content for each section can be displayed the same way is in the original version.[code]

I'm creating a simple gallery for a website which literally loads the next image when the image is clicked. I've set it up so that the images fade in. In my current flash project I keep getting this error in my output panel: Code:TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.at main_flash_fla::Acoustic_1/moveImage()at main_flash_fla::Acoustic_1/on2() However, It does not seem to effect the movie when I test it. All it has really accomplished is to annoy me by always popping up in my output panel.
Heres my question: Why does it choose to show up in my output as an error rather than my compiler error panel? Also, what then is the difference between an error in output vs compiler?

im making a button and on the rollover animation I want to have it splatter paint, only thing is I dont know how to get an image into flash that doesnt look crappy. I know that I need a vector image, but im not familiar with vectors as I usually use photoshop. I tried using a photoshop brush image, a simple paint splatter in which I was just going to tween to a larger splatter but like I said the image looks blurred because itsa bitmap.
another newbie question, but when you make an animated button, is the background included in the animation? Like lets say I import a button, give it an animation to glow on rollover or something, if i went to use that .swf would the background that it was placed on show? or would it just be the animation that shows on the default web browser background.
I have a map of the UK with all the counties and i was wondering how I would go about making a rollover flash movie. I specifically need it to highlight the county when the mouse is over that county and a little box to appear with the county name in it. Like an ALT tag I dont want someone to tell me exactly how to do it just some tips on how i would go about this. Is there an image mapping tool in Flash. Or how would i go about marking out the coordinates for each of these areas.

View 2 RepliesI have an image contained within a slideshow with a rollover attached to it, when you click the image a larger image within the same movie clip appears. This layer is below my navigation layers for my website so when I click on the image it is below some of the navigation layers and logo. Is there a way to make this appear on top of all of the other layers without actually moving the layer up. I'm using Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3.0.

Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
View 7 RepliesI am currently making an interactive Map, as i rollover to a certain continent, the continent will light up in a yellow highlight, afterward as i click on the continent the box menu will pop up on top of the continent, everything went fine until i browse around inside the box menu( the box menu is bigger than the continent,..wider) cause at one point the cursor will go to a certain area inside the box menu that is not on top of a part of the continent, That's when the yellow highlight went down. I was just wondering how do i make sure the yellow highlight on the continent stays on while i freely browse around the box menu( which is wider than the continent)

the png file pixelate when the clip is scaled(to 110%).
I have created one static movieclip and in that movieclip i have created "i" dynamic movieclips.On the dynamically created movieclip i am loading swf(Swf consists of a Preloader and then image appears).All these swf values and link(url) values i get by parsing an xml string in the FLA itself...Now the problem starts here...There are links on these dynamically loaded swf's....And I have given static rollover effect on the swf by making image as a button..Now what happens is that i have written onRelease Function in code and in that i m getting link on images(SWF) using getURL in on EnterFrame function and i am not gettin the rollover effects that i have created in static.
View 2 RepliesI did a picture slide show in flash CS5 where I used actionsript 3. I added a button so that when you click it will go to the next picture. Then on the last one it will go from the last picture and reset back to the first picture. I even added some music with a stop and play button so if you are playing some music and say you get tired of it while looking through the pictures you can click the play/ stop button and it will stop.[code]...
This error occurs when I go to test movie about half way through my photo gallery this message will pop up. The thing about it is that despite the error all my images load and play correctly as they should and my sound plays and stops as I ask it too. I guess I could ignore the error seeing as how everything works 100% fine despite the error but I was just wondering if this error is something serious or if I should be concerned?
I want to know what this error means and how ca i fix it[code]...

I'm making a web page and I wanna include a contact form in it so I'm making it in FLASH CS4. Using Action Sript 3.0. I watched some video tutorials in YouTube in how to make the Code and PHP form. But when I finished the form on flash I published it in SWF and when I click the submit button this error shows on the OUTPUT tab:

I made a preloader for a specific page on my site and it loads it and all but the scroll gallery i have, which is a movie clip, doesn't work at all, but it works fine if i just play the original file thats being loaded with the preloader. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I get this output error[code]...
