View 4 RepliesI am pulling my hair out trying to make my simple flash file link to a URL and nothing I have tried will work. I am making a transparent box on the top layer of my file, making it a movie clip and adding the code

The action says it has no errors, but when I export the move, my cursor turns to a hand but goes no where when I click.
i have a friend who are dentist and ive agreed to do a web site for him. I do it in cs4. Like so: ive made a pretty simple and nice layout i plan to use for all pages with some images an so on .Now ive made lots of buttons wich all opens in a timeline nice and slow (not to slow). On the index page i have a menu called "treatments" wich requir some room. I want to make a button called "treatments" wich can open and collaps to 3-4 minor buttons wich then again can link to diffrent pages describing different treatments. Now i need the treatment button to open up the 3-4 minor buttons one by one smooth(tweened with the alpha slider) with same frame rate as the other ones on the page and collaps again.

Flash newbie here. I wanted to create a basic flash countdown widget to use on a site I run so I started googling and found a template I liked. After messing around with it and whipping up a quick background in Photoshop, I got something that looked decent. The template uses Action Script 2.0, but it seems to work ok. I went through it and customized the date and countdown text color so I don't have to use any variables in the embed code.
The problem I am facing now is I want the whole flash file to be a link in case someone else takes it and decided to embed it on their site, it at least links back to mine. I put an invisible rectangle over the whole project and inserted this AS

Trying to make it so when you click anywhere on the flash file, it loads a specific website. It works when I go to File > Preview > Flash, but if I try and preview in html it doesn't navigate anywhere. My actionscript is:

I am creating this animation. When you click on a button I want it to use facebox to use a pop up. I was talking to my coder friend and he gave me this code to maybe useSo I am trying to basically use this kind of coding into flash. The only thing is that I am not that great a coding so I have no idea what I am doing. The only coding that I have is a stop (); at the end of the animation so it doesn't loop.
View 1 RepliesI have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn
View 3 RepliesI have recently purchased a XML based template and need to make an existing XML link goto an internal menu page. I have been able to create buttons in the flash template itself using action script with no problems. In my site I have several buttons that say more, so in the XML document it has these internal links, asfunction:_root.more_click_func,1. So what I am trying to do is have thiese links goto the contact page, so I assumed it was simple as directing the asfunction to the internal menu which is 6 but it doe snot work.

I am trying to figure out how to make buttons on my flash file link to URLs that appear in a window of fixed dimensions (with scroller bars) next to my Flash window. I am aware that Adobe has instructions for creating pop-up browser windows through Flash [URL]. However, what I'm trying to do is a bit more complicated, since I want to have multiple embedded invisible buttons in the Flash window that each take you to a specific URL when you click on them. Alternatively I'd be happy if any button click resulted in a link to a random selection from a pre-programmed list of URLs. This is for ActionScript 3.

- my main movie is (a) and when i click a button there, it will go to external movie (b)
- under external movie (b) there's a movie clip that includes my animation and content button
- if i click on the content button on movie (b), external movie (c) will pop up [ it will not replace movie (b) but will just overlap it, it's like a small pop up ]
i did the actionscript and when i'm testing external movie (b), it's working... it's showing/popping up movie (c) but when i tried it on the main movie (a), the movie (c) is not popping on the (b) err, sorry if it's a bit confusing / how i explained it. but hopefully somebody will get the idea. and it won't also return on the main movie (a) when i click on a link from the external movie.
I have a html page that has a link, which links to another html page with a flash file on. What i need is when this flash page is accessed i need a new movie to load, which would usually load from the navigation when someone clicks on a button.Is there anyway to link to a page which then loads a new movie into the main movie. can this be done???

The menubar is animated and when I click on the buttons I move from one page to the next. I duplicated one of the pages, renamed it to a new name and now want to create a button or a link that when clicked goes to this new page. I have spent ages trying to figure out how to do this with no success.

View 2 RepliesI have a map of the UK with all the counties and i was wondering how I would go about making a rollover flash movie. I specifically need it to highlight the county when the mouse is over that county and a little box to appear with the county name in it. Like an ALT tag I dont want someone to tell me exactly how to do it just some tips on how i would go about this. Is there an image mapping tool in Flash. Or how would i go about marking out the coordinates for each of these areas.

View 2 Repliesim very basic with flash and i made a movie that contains about 110 frames with help of toturials and stuff from internet and from here too for my site. what happens is that the movie has about 3 mb and for some slow connections it just doesnt displays the correct info when i click the buttons right away...so now i would like to built a loading message so that ppl can only access the movie when it is completely loaded in order to dont receive incomplete info when clicking the buttons ....but i dun know how.
