Professional :: Change "link =" Code To "href=" On My Flash Navigation?
Apr 9, 2011
I was given the following recommendation for my website:
Your flash menu links to home.html.However,since home.html is the default document, you're encouraging people to link to http:[url]... or bookmark it.If you ever change the name of the default document(home page),those links will break.I would change the link to be <a href="/">home</a> so it loads whatever default page you are currently using.I looked at my code and it says this:
onClipEvent (load) { num = 1; this.hitArea = this.area; link = "home.html";}on (rollOver) { if (_root.link<>num) { _root.icon1.gotoAndPlay("s1"); _root.item1.gotoAndPlay("s1"); }}on (releaseOutside, rollOut) { if (_root.link<>num) { _root.icon1.gotoAndPlay("s2"); _root.item1.gotoAndPlay("s2"); }}on (release) { if (_root.link<>num) { _parent["item"+_root.link].gotoAndPlay("s2"); _root.link = num; getURL(link); }}
When I changed the first section to this, I got an error and the home button kept rotating.
onClipEvent (load) { num = 1; this.hitArea = this.area; link = <a href="/">home</a>;
I installed a flash template. It has navigation buttons with a nice roll-over effect. The buttons are all located within a symbol called "menu" (it is a Movie Clip type symbol, not a Button type). Each individual button in the menu appear to be in its own separate layer, so the first button is in a layer called "item1, second button in "item2", and so on. I want to edit the link for the fourth button so it goes to another website but I can't seem to find the code to edit the link. I managed to find
[CODE]...
and this does work - upon pressing the button it goes to the website link. However, there is no more roll-over effect for this button. So there has to be an alternative or better way to editing the link for this button (without removing the roll-over effect).
I have two movieclips on the stage mc1 and mc2,the navigation for mc2 and mc1 is in mc1 as as3 and MovieClips suddenly now that I've added some tabs into mc2 (new layer, no instance names yet) the navigation code in mc1 has stopped working,if I change the initial stop command to a later frame in mc1 I can navigate back to the first frame and then to one other place in the menu but after moving away from the first frame I can't seem to get any of the buttons to work, its only if the stop command is on a later page that those buttons will workon the main timeline i'm using;
I think this is a relatively easy fix but I have looked around for the answer and have not been able to find it. I am using a dynamic scrollable html text box. I would like to add links. The only problem is that the double forward slashes (//) in http:[url]....makes the following text become a commment.I have a dynamic text box with an instance name of myText and in my AS layer I have:
Code: myText.htmlText ="the text for this scrollable text box, which is html formatted";
If I try to add a html link, obviously it doesn't work.The only workaround that I know of uses exteral .txt files.I would prefer to use those since I have not been able to get my scrolling bar with tweening to load properly with external .txt files.
I used flash banner at html page in a iframe. But when I clicked at another navigation link (like index to contact page). flash reloads. & it takes time for low bandwidth user. Is there any solution that, i can go at any page without refresh whole page...(not reload flash). I don't want to reload flash when I click at another link.
What i want to do is make the flash template bi-language.the Index file is linked to Main_F7.swf and to tfile_main.xml so i figured the easiest option for me (just a started with flash) is to make a second copy of Main_F7 (Main_F72) and link this one to tfile_main2 (second language).
index --> main_F7 --> tfile_main (first language) with a button to the index2 file index2 --> main_F72 --> tfile_main2 (for the second language) with a button to the index file
The site will open in english and whenever the button flag is clicked the second language will open.
I have a Flash project created in an earlier version that I'm opening in CS3. I'm trying to change one link, but it appears to be buried in code and I can't locate it and I need to change the link to an outside page.
I am creating a textbutton using actionscript. the code is given below.
public function createTextButton(parentId){ var mytext:TextField = new TextField(); mytext.x = 478;
[Code]....
Now i want the click event of this button to be handled in my event handler function only. It should not navigate away to the 'href' source given upon clicking. How can i achieve that.
I know how to link it to whatever BUThow do I link it to a html file that isn't on the internet.For example, I put in "file///H:/index.html". Ok it works on my computer but the problem is that when I transfer my USB to another computer the drive may be E:/
Since I was unable to do this in Photoshop, I was wondering if there was a way in Flash to simply change the color of an image to a speciifc color code. The image is more or less a simple line with rounded corners. It is only composed of 1 color.
I have created a small application which takes it's information from an xml file and displayes it in a news ticker which is a flash Flash AS2 application. tell me the correct way to format the link tag in the xml if there is a standard when wanting to state a target for the link? The xml file currently looks like:
So what I want to do is to be able to open the link in a taget=_blank window however adding that to the end of the url does not currently work.I have added a comma and also tried using a space, space and encompassing in quotes but none are working.
i have my nave bar as my main swf then i load each page as an external swf in a mc container. each button should be marked when you navigate to the respective page. how would i load a current pages icon over the generic one when i navigate to that page then unload it when i navigate to another page?
I have AIR application and mx:Label with htmlText property [URL]. For some reason nothing happens when I click it. It works in not-AIR application, but does not in AIR one.
i'm having trouble finding a tutorial on this through google. in html, i have this code on a text link:Code:<a href="page1.html" onclick="return loadIframe('ifrm', this.href)">Page 1</a>basically just returns a page's height to the iframe called ifrm so that the height of the iframe will be dynamically changed.the page's nav is being changed to flash, so i need to somehow script that snippet into a flash button. normally i'd use something like:
Making buttons that open another url is easy enough, but for some reason I'm having a huge amount of trouble having a navigation button open new content on my website, such as moving from the Home content to the Menu content (the layout is static, only one small section filled with content changes.
I think the issue is that I can't figure out how to code it due to the fact that there are a good amount of nested movie clips, I'm not sure how to direct it to the place and frame I want.
I couldn't quite uplaod the file, so I've got it on filefront here: [URL]
Is it possible to add code (...html or php?) to an html link (i.e the link will be featured in an html website) that passes a variable into the flash site it links to (just something simple like '_root.pageChoice = "home3" '? So when the site opens the swf turns to a certain page?This will be necessary as there will be links to the site from different html sites and each will need to see a different version of a certain page.
I am All Programmer when it comes to anything including flash. I got into making games not to long ago and some people use frames to navigate from the main menu to the game screen and so on (which I have no idea how to do). and some people encapsulate the game inside of a class and call it from the document class and add and remove it when please
I have built a flash navigation menu that plays fine. I exported it and saved it into the root directory of my website.Then I opened the website and added it where I wanted it (on a Template) by selecting Insert>Media>Flash and following the steps.I added the files to my server and am finding something odd. When I open the Template file on the website, it loads the Flash file just fine.[URL] However, when I load any of the pages built from the Template the menu won't load correctly.[URL]
I am making a Flash website. I click on a link,... lets say 'Contact' The 'Contact' page opens. I click on 'Contact' again while it's open,... It opens again. I need to know how to prevent the link from reloading each time you click it
1. I have a flash movie embedded in an html page. When the user clicks on a button in the movie it should open the new in the SAME or CURRENT window NOT in a new tab (leaving that window open).
Here's the code..getURL("imageTest.html", _self);
2. I can't get my block navigation to show the CURRENT link.I want the current link or page on the navigation bar to be a different color than the other links.
I'm able to get the font to change color but I can't get the background or "block color" to change color.
That's my page, and it works fine in IE...my problem is that it doesn't work in any of the other browsers.Firefox, Netscape and Opera don't recognize the <href> tag that surrounds the flash file, and that <href> tag holds the CSS class that makes the image pop on the right.
Normally I wouldn't even use flash for this but I need the streaming audio capability...you'll notice there's music when you rollover the thumbnails.Anyway, I've tried a bunch of stuff that didn't work...a transparent flash file z-indexed overtop a normal html jpg, among other things.Now I'm hoping that embedding the css into the flash file may be the answer.But, I don't know how to properly embed the class.I just managed to design myself into a corner that I can't get out of with tutorials.
P.S. I know this post is light on the specifics, just tell me what you want to see and I'll post it right away.
I've a assets swc file that contains several TLFTextField objects, each one with it's style (font, color, size).
I use the following code to set a link:
var text_tf : TLFTextField; var url : String = "www.stackoverflow.com"; text_tf.htmlText = "<a href='http://" + url + "' target='_blank'>"+url+"</a>";
This works as expected, but it changes the color of the text to blue;
What's the easiest way to configure the color of the text, without having to recreate all the TLF mechanism (ContainerController, Configuration, TextLayoutFormat, TextFlow, ParagraphElement, LinkElement, SpanElement, ...);
follow the link [URL] any good tutorial to make this type of flash site (moving content with navigation links) inform me whether its available in mac.flash professional help or not?
What is the easiest way (for Fash novice) to navigate back and forth between the slides of presentation made with Flash Slide Presentation feature. Each slide contains animation and plays well the first time but when if I want to back to a slide, it would only show the last frame of that slidI tried many things including making buttons for back and forth and managed to make buttons that fade when you pan over them (big accomplishment:) but can't get them to actually do stuff for me, like go forward and backward. I tried to assign to the button's frame "UP" thee following script but it doesn't work:
onKeyDown = function() { if (Key.getCode() == Key.LEFT) gotoAndPlay (_currentframe-1)
