View 1 RepliesI just decided to start using a new online conversion to convert PDF to online catalogs. I've tried several similar services or converters and finally. One thing annoying happened. I uploaded a PDF to [URL] and it converted, I like the result as when I magnify the page it keeps clear enough texts. However, When I clicked the top-right button to enter full screen, I cannot use the page oval on the bottom also cannot use PgUp, PgDn, Home, End to flip pages.
I then checked the demo [URL] but same thing happens. I tried some of the other conversions, FlippingBook gives an message saying that the flash player doesn't support keyboard input in full screen when I was trying to use the search function. And Found that the keyboard input are disabled in the flash 9 version this complex ducument is using. When will this restriction be canceled using the Flash Player? In a Flash version 10 or never? I'm an XP end user.
I'm having Trouble seeing files once they go online. Everything was just fine yesterday. But now whenever I export a file and upload it, it can't be viewed. They run just fine on my machine but when uploaded I get the "need newer version of Flash" message. And when I try to just load the swf it comes up blank. My older SWFs still work great, just the ones I exported today that are having problems.
View 5 RepliesI've spent countless hours looking for a simple, easy to use solution to convert WMV files over to FLV, and I'm having a hell of a time. The "wmv to flv" market seems to be cornered by sleazy companies promising "easy" solutions with software that either costs money and isn't guaranteed to work, or is offered free with loads of spyware. That aside, I've heard about ffmpeg and attempted to look at the documentation, only to feel a bit overwhelmed simply because it seems like they've written it for people who already work with that sort of thing (from command line).
I'm just wondering if there's a solution that anyone is aware of that a) doesn't cost money, or if it does, at least provides a non-spyware/malware/virus loaded test version to verify that the program actually does what it's supposed to do, and b) doesn't require some sort of contextual knowledge of linux or command line scripting in order to run a simple conversion.
What I'm asking is, as a user starting with a single .wmv file, how would I, from start to finish, get it into an .flv format?
I was able to get it all to work well. I finished the Flash based simple quiz game I was making. I apologize if the title is vague, but I thought this best described the issue at hand for me. If not, I hope the detailed question below can be of better use. What I want to do with this flash, which I've published as a swf, html file, is to upload them online to a forum I've been working on. This forum is a free creating forum, Forumotion. Anyway I have the files all done, but need a way to host it on the forum now.
I've been searching and doing research for free hosting sites to upload my swf file to, but have not had much luck. I was just wondering if anyone knew any good, legitimate, and preferably free hosting sites, which I could create a domain space on. I am also unsure if it is possible to do such a thing with a flash/swf files that have been created in Action Script 3.
Fireworks or Flash This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered) My website was completely designed in fireworks. I'm told that can't be done but home 2000.com, there it is. I now want to switch to flash. I am having an understanding problem in converting the Fireworks png files to Flash.
1. Fireworks I saved as a swf file.
2. I tested the swf. (The file is basically a one-page display with rollovers that would each create a large picture in the middle of the screen when rollover. I believe when I call a rollover might also be called a hotspot. the problem I'm having with the saved swf file is all of the images continuously execute like a movie without stopping. This is in contrast to the purpose of the display area. It is supposed to only display the large image when someone rolls over the hotspot.
3. A third and separate issue is converting the Java navigation displayed on the left side to flash. I have asked many times for help on this and other forums and nobody can seem to come up with a way that I can duplicate, fairly closely, the navigation system that I'm using. it's nothing more than the all typical looking tree menu with two basic issues.
a. Swap out the Menu on top of screen that holds the six hotspots.
b. Swap out the large display area that holds the new eight hotspots.
c. Display an image or text in the TVBox, our term for small display area at bottom of navigation frame.
If you go to my site you will see one of the displays on the home page. Is this a large display area with the eight hotspots that I'm trying to export.
I have to stream, with rtmp, some .wmv and .asf files. Flash media server doesn't work with this kind of files, correct me if I'm wrong, but it only works with .mp4 and .flv files. How can i do to convert these files?
View 2 RepliesIs there a way for flash to detect what files are in a certain folder online with just a URL (ie "http://example.com/files") if the .swf file is stored on the same site?
View 1 RepliesI am loading 2 external text files into my SWF.. I believe that my action script is correct as it works pefect offline.. However as soon as I uploaded it to my webspace, both text boxes have the "undefined" text sitting there.. The problem doesn't exsist when I only have 1 external text file loaded..
//load 1st text file
myData1 = new LoadVars();
myData1.onLoad = function() {

I am curious about where I can find sound files that I can use in Flash CS4 or some software that may be usefull in creating/editing/converting sound files to .wav or .mp3 for use in Flash. I should probably also note that although I do have Flash CS4 I am very low on funds for software
View 2 RepliesI am diving in to learn AS3 and converting my site over to AS3. The majority of my code is for my navigation in my main movie that loads external swf files. Here is what I have and I don't know where to start to convert it. I know I need to do this in steps. So the audio is not important now or my other swf files.

I have Adobe Flash Media Server 3.01 installed on my server. I can record files via user's webcam and convert them to .flv with spesific compression sizes. But i want my users my users to upload an .avi, .mpeg / .mpg, .mov etc file via an http form and after upload finishes i want fms to convert file to flv.
It can be done with the ffmpeg tool free but i wonder if interactive server has a feature like this.
I imported my SWF unto dreamweaver and previewed it on browser and it works perfectly fine, I then uploaded on server but it is not showing online, I have flash player 10, and have checked to see if all the files are placed in correct root folder. I tried saving SWF under a new name, and a few oher things but it is not working!!!! Been racking my brains for 2weeks....
Here is the site page. [URL]
I worked on this flash site and imported it in Dreamweaver to publish online. When I test the movie in Flash and in Dreamweaver evrything looks to work just fine, but when I upload the .swif and the .html files the video on the home page does not work!

I have some files in my src directory, some are .class files (Java class files) and some are .properties files, when I create the Adobe air native installer these files are not included. Why is that? How can I work around that?
Also it excludes .mxml files, but that's good. I'm sure that's related, how to change what it includes or excludes?
I have created a flash file that allows you to click on a thumbnail image and larger image appears ontop of a tshirt. The same way as a gallery would work. The images and thumbnails are pulled in through xml. However I have a problem, I need the images that appear on the tshirts to be .png files or gif files as the tshirt colour can be changed. At the moment my flash file will only display jpegs! I dont knwo why. The jpegs leave me with a white background, so I need the transparency of a png/gif. My actionscript is:

My users upload a certain kind of text file that sometimeshas references to images stored locally on their hard drive. I needto check this file either on the server or within a flash app tosee if it has these references and then grab those images in aflash app to upload to my server.So I can use FileReference easily enough to have users uploadlocal images. But FileReference requires users to select their files with a dialog box. I can't have that. Myusers wouldn't know where to look and there are typically way toomany files, sometimes with the same name but in differentdirectories.
I can also just use URLLoader with a local URL, I guess I canprobably just use Loader too? That works great. The problem here isI can't communicate with both the server and the local filesystemin the same flash application due to Flash's security sandboxrestrictions. So I can get out of those security restrictions byplacing or editing a trust file in designated locations on variousOSes. I then need to install this trust file which is more invasiveand confusing to users then I want to be...Java's method of accessing local files from a web applet bysimply signing the applet with a certificate and having a dialogbox popup where the users grants access is ideal. Is there anything
iam streaming my web cam to FMS .... i have got a latency of 1 -2 second,,,,,, What should i do to reduce the latency,,,,,, is ter any change i can make in FMS files(xml files) in order to reduce the latency......
View 6 RepliesI was messing around with some old examples, and I ran into an unfinished example where several 30k-100k XML files are loaded and stored as a string into an Array. The code looks basically like:[code]Basically, when I trace the 'this', the order of the files that are loaded is off. Out of about 10 tries, about 3 times the order is perfect. The remaining 7 times, the order is a bit off. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to ensure the files are loaded prior to the next file being loaded? I tried placing a while loop that basically delays the clock for a few milliseconds, and that didn't work either. Besides, that is not really a good solution to arbitrarily waste clock cycles.
View 6 RepliesI installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.
View 4 RepliesI'm working on making a pretty chunky game engine for games I plan on making, but I was wondering if you make external AS files unopenable such as .lib files, so that if I give it to a friend that wants to use it, he/she cannot change my code. Is there anyway to make external AS files unopenable? Also, obfuscation isn't an option for this problem as it only stops the people who hack the finished product, not stopping people who have access to the actual files.
View 2 Repliesi have attached a flash file.the problems are

my question is to diplay random files , and i have given the code as
[Code]....
one more question is "where i need to store all these movie files. either in samefolder where the flash file is placed. or make it as a seperate folder and or in the flash file library". and one more thing is "how can i place these 20 files in a order like declaring the dimensions on the screen. do i need to put in a CSS.
I'm trying to convert some flv files to swf so I can place them on my online course. I'm working with Flash CS4. This is what I have done so far.
1) I embedded the flv files into a new project.
2) And then I just exported the file as a movie.
This worked well but only to an extent. There is about 10 seconds worth of dead time at the start of some of my videos, and they automatically loop themselves, when the loop feature is not on.
I have created a slideshow in flash 8 for my website, though the file needs to be a .flv. I've read lots of similar posts, tried some trial versions of converters and .swf decompilers, and it seems that you either need to buy a converter, or buy quicktime pro to achieve this. I'm just wondering if there are any alternatives, or if perhaps some kind fellow out there would be willing to convert it for me? The .swf file is attached, if any passing samaritan is feeling charitable.

Just wanted to know if anybody knows how to convert swf to vob?I have a flash movie that I want to put on a dvd and I do not know how.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a simple Flash application to be placed on a web site. It is intended to take data from an .xml file and display it in the Flash movie. There are a number of buttons that display different nodes of the .xml file when clicked. (Not all the buttons are functional yet in this code; I know that.)It runs just fine in Flash. It even runs fine when I publish it and then run it by clicking on the html file on my computer.When I upload the html and swf files to my server, the html file works fine (gives me a solid colored background) but the swf is just a white box, nothing in it and no functionality.Something needs to be declared, imported or linked, I think, but I do not know what or how to do it. (Most irritating is the fact that the code is substantially taken from an online tutorial, with nary a word about this issue.)
ar chineseSentence:Array=new Array();
[many other Array vars deleted for space]
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();

For some reason when my swf is published online the elements show up pixelated but when its local it looks fine. the object is set to high quality in the html.[url]...
