I wanted to make a website that would let users record a small video message through their broswer and save it to my website. As I have never used flash, i wanted to know what softwares would be required and what programming languages would I need? I mean, what should I go about learning to implement such a site. I would prefer open-source solutions wherever possible.
i need a simple python lib that check the uploaded files to my webserver are flash media (FLV), by reading the flv header (metadata) and not the mimetype extension.
On Linux, YouTube places temporary flash files in /tmp. Nautilus can display the duration (Minutes:Seconds) of them, but I haven't found a way to extract the duration using python.'
I experience strange behavior of sockets in Python (3.2). Client connects to my application using Flash. Most of the time there is nothing unusual but sometimes python crashes in a way that should not have taken place - enter into infinite loops. Below I attach to the loop code and error message in the log. Python hang on bytesRecived = sock.recv(64) and receive b'' witch is visible in log.
Does Adobe Flash expose any Automation or hosting interfaces through COM or a DLL in %systemroot%system32? I'm working with Python and wxWidgets to host a flash application to monitor lunar phases.
I am trying to come up with a solution where I can use some application embedded into the website (assuming something in flash to cover as many platforms as possible) where the user can record videos with sound from a webcam that are streamed across to my server so they can be stored.I don't want to store the captured video & sound on the users computer if that is possible to prevent any issues with space etc.that is just the server side of things and need to find some form of flash app that can capture and send the data to there server from the browser.
Part of a web application I am developing requires the ability to capture still images from a Flash or HTML5 video playing with in a browser. Actually, users of this web app will also have to have the ability to:
Draw a crop box on top of the Flash/HTML5 video player Be able to resize that box if necessary Capture the image with in the crop box frame Have that image be saves and sent to the server
Also, this video image crop/capture tool will also have to be restricted to the perimeter of the video frame. I don't want users getting confused and potentially capturing an image outside of the video frame because all we are concerned about is the content of the video.
I'm putting together a portfolio for an interview mon, and I use a portable dvd player to show my 3d animations, but I also want to show a flash game I made and I was wondering whats the best method of showing it.I can't lug my comp in there, and just printing and mounting screenshots seems a waste when I have the dvd player sitting on the table already. I've been trying various desktop recording software, but so far everyone I've tried has horrendous framerate issues, well, not terrible, but not something I wanna show at a job interview.
Is it possible to record video through Flash's "Webcam" facility and receive encoded video on server side without any further processing (i.e. just saving the stream to a file)? Or is server side software always needed to encode the input? If server side software is necessary, are there free / Open Source solutions available?
Is it at all possible to save h.264 video from the Flash/Actionscript Camera (i.e. webcam) without needing a streaming server (like fms/wowza/red5)?Where I'm also going with this is, I'd like to take the sampleData from Microphone, and transcode it client-side so that a user can record h.264/aac (or mp3) and store it locally or remotely for easy viewing in a mp4 container....Any tips before I re-invent the wheel or run into a roadblock?
I need to create a simple video streaming without using Flash comunicator server or other streaming server. So I am thinking to use RTMFP but I haven' t found any good RTMFP tutorial for this issue.
Do you know tutorial for Video Streaming using RTMFP ?
I am using python and webapp framework in app engine for backend and flex 4 for front end.I would like to pass a string form backend to front end, so i write the following code in the main.py:
I have created a flex application in the Python Gae sdk and I got the error 2048, so I put a crossdomain.xml under the static folder. The crossdomain.xml is following:
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy> [code].....
However, I still got the error 2048. Therefore, I would like to know is anything I need to configure or miss in my case and how to fix the error.
Everyone knows that recording a video with the user's webcam is possible with flash in the browser - but all the solutions I found until now involve a rmtp server that accepts a stream from the flash app. Is there a way to use webcam recording without such an extra media server?
The usecase I want to implement is the following:
Show the user the output of his webcam on the screen. The user can hit a record button which will trigger the flash app to record 5 seconds of video material. The recorded video should be sent to the server as .flv file where it can be processed later.
Since the video will only be a few seconds long the amount of data is not a problem. But my actual question is: Is this somehow technically possible to do in Flash?
We want to build an application that allows the user to record a video using their webcam on our site using flash and save the URL in a database using PHP. So that we can allow the user to send the video's to other users etc. Also we want to offer the user the possibility to upload their movies (per mail and with PHP) and convert them to flash movies, can this also be done using Flash media server? (maybe in combination with AMFPHP)
Right now I am working on an AIR 3.2 application which lets you stream a video to a Flash Media Server and saves it on a hard drive. This sequence works fine with the standard Sorenson codec but I want to use H.264 for my videos. I found lots example c ode and implemented it in my code, but when I record a video of myself I am unable to re-watch it afterwards.I found how to implement a H.264 encoding in a realeyes blog post here. My code is here.It saves the video as a .f4v file, but my browser (I've tried the latest versions of both Chrome and Firefox, with the latest Flash) and also VLC are unable to load the video. I also used a program called Movie Player which is able to open the file but can only show the first frame and the audio. Neither am I able to upload the video to YouTube because they do not support the file extension. Here is an example video file it saved: H264Test1.f4v.My question is: How do I stream and save the movie with a file extension that I am able to re-watch while using the H.264 codec?
So I've been following URL... lovely "Flash Video Basics" tutorial and have encountered some issues which have eventually brought me to a brick wall. After seeing this error regularly:"1061: Call to a possibly undefined method attachVideo through a reference with static type flash. media: Video."I followed someone's advice to use attachNetStream() instead of attachVideo, which worked for a bit..Then I encountered an problem in which the audio would play, but no video. This led me to another forum which suggested that all the script I was trying to use (taken from the tutorial) was actually Actionscript 2.Changing my export to use Actionscript 2 instead of 3 fixed some problems but created others. I'm feeling like at this point I have to give up on the tutorial and just get friendly with a manual - but I'd love to be wrong about that. So I guess my question is: Does anyone know if these (very nicely done) tutorials were created with a version of Actionscript in mind?
is there any sample on using array bitmapdata to record video from webcam and generate flash movieclip file? i want to record sound as well without using red5/flash streaming server
I sent an email to pom regarding a tutorial that he wrote, but the email was bounced and he hasn't replied to my PM. I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:
i would like to know, is it possible to go to a other website (url) if i click on one of the picture in the tutorial "3D Photo Panals)? What is the command for this? It doesn´t work with TweenLite. I would like to have the same tutorial, but with buttons. Is this possible?
If swf file is embedded in html it is easy to call ActionScript methods via ExternalInterface using JavaScript. Now I want to use the swf file outside of a browser and still be able to access its methods, but now I want to use Python to call ActionScript. Is it possible? There is so little information about it in the Internet. Probably I can use AMF (pyAmf) for this, can I?
I'm trying to find out if there is a way I could embed a Python back-end into an AIR application? I'm looking to employ an approach similar to the one outlined here to implement the business logic for my application, but additionally, I would like to provide the user with a single binary which they can load. I don't want the user to have to fire up a seperate server process to make this work.
