Apr 15, 2010I realize this is not an official swishmax template but I was wondering how others learned to edit the swish 3.0 templates sold on template monster?
When I opened the swi file that came with the template it looked like this in a preview after TM assured me it would look the same as on their site.
When I contacted them again they said I needed to install the fonts that come with the template.
I was able to install some but for others I got a message that said :
"PFB files for type 1 fonts can't be installed directly. Please install the associated PFM file"
Where do I get the PMF file?

Feb 6, 2009So I've been following URL... lovely "Flash Video Basics" tutorial and have encountered some issues which have eventually brought me to a brick wall.After seeing this error regularly:"1061: Call to a possibly undefined method attachVideo through a reference with static type flash. media: Video."I followed someone's advice to use attachNetStream() instead of attachVideo, which worked for a bit..Then I encountered an problem in which the audio would play, but no video. This led me to another forum which suggested that all the script I was trying to use (taken from the tutorial) was actually Actionscript 2.Changing my export to use Actionscript 2 instead of 3 fixed some problems but created others. I'm feeling like at this point I have to give up on the tutorial and just get friendly with a manual - but I'd love to be wrong about that. So I guess my question is: Does anyone know if these (very nicely done) tutorials were created with a version of Actionscript in mind?

I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:

Feb 3, 2012I have a video which my client wants me to cut in pieces. I see that I can set up starting and ending points in Media Encoder, i.e. cut out the part from beginning and end. Is there an option to cut out parts in the middle?
I am familiar with After Effects but my client doesn't want to invest in this program. Are there any smaller/cheaper programs which allow more video editing that AME if AME indeed can not do it?

Jan 16, 2011I found the article titled 'Capturing live video' quite useful. This article is linked off the FMS start web page - the one that opens immediately after installing.[URL] The tutorial is better than most that I've found because it has a simple, working example. I was able to enter the code into a frame script in Flash CS5 and I used my own FMS address to connect both to a localhost and a remote server.
The sad part was that I found that I got the video and audio to round trip to and from the FMS when compiled (ctrl+enter) in the Flash CS5 program but when I try to publish this to a web page, I get audio but I can't get any video to display - neither eachoing straight from the camera or subscribing from the FMS. I've tried accessing the web page from my local file system and from a webserver. In both cases, I get audio (great news) but not video (bad news). I'm wondering why this might be. I checked warnings and errors but I'm not getting any. This solution is so simple and would pretty much solve my problems.
Flash :: CS4 Sample Templates Are Missing
Dec 26, 2009My sample templates are missing, all that shows now are Cateregory: Advertising and different size banners. I searched my harddrive and found the rood folder where they are stored but only the folder for Advertising exist. I haven't deleted anything, so could it have been a glitch at installation, I had startup problems with Flash constantly crashing at the splash screen and finally had to uninstall and reinstall.
Running WinXP SP3.

Jul 31, 2010This seems like it should be MUCH simpler than it is turning out to be: I have made a custom template in Flash CS4. I want to share it with a colleague. The obvious solution, I would think, would be to COPY the template file from my hard drive, and provide it to my colleague.
However, I have looked high and low, and CANNOT FIND WHERE USER TEMPLATES ARE STORED on my hard drive. I have found the Adobe-provided templates that are included with the product (the "Advertising" templates) at Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Flash CS4>en>Configuration>Templates>Advertising; but MY CUSTOM TEMPLATES are not in the Templates directory.
I have also looked in My Documents, and run several searches on my hard drive, but still cannot find the location of my custom templates. Surely they are SOMEPLACE on my hard drive, as they are available from the Splash page every time I boot up Flash CS4.

Feb 15, 2011I'm at the verge of starting a (for me) very complicated project and I am confused about in what way I should setup my code.EXPERIENCE:- I've been programming AS2 for almost 7 years now- Finally switched to AS3 a year ago- Have beworking with the PureMVC framework in my last couple projects nowPROJECT DESCRIPTION:I have to make several templates for a dynamic quiz game.+ Information about the quizzes comes from a database+ quizzes can have different kind of question and there are also other types of screens (information, video, etc)+ All quizzes are dynamic and therefor different+ there have to be several different templates (design, animations and dimensions)MY PROBLEM:I don't really know how to tackle the different templates in the right way.I want all the templates to make use of the same basic code, but only look different (design, transitions and dimensions) terefor I think I should use a MVC pattern.But how do I implement it in such a way that I:- can have 3 different templates- add extra features to the source code without needing to update all the templates- easily add other templates when neededI'm a bit stuck in the MVC way if thinking (which is quite complex for me).
- Do I need to create different sf's = SWFs for every template (and thus the need to update them all for every new feature we implement)- Or should I use a core template, on which I can expand a new "skin" by dynamically loading a theme-swf?
