Has anyone here used VAST on their custom players? I'm trying to find a discussion on it but I'm not able to find anything.I did read some info on the http:[url]... website but they don't explain much about integrating with custom players.

View 2 RepliesI have an *.flv file on a FMS. When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.

View 10 RepliesI am testing RTMFP unicast for a video chat project using FM Developer Server 4.0.During the testing I overloaded the upload traffic to make packets dropped rather than suffering delay due to retransmission.
However, I see it makes a significant delay and it looks like doing retransmission just like RTMP.
Do you know if there is an option in FMS to disable the retransmission or other configuration I have to consider?One thing I found is "Netstream.videoReliable=false; Netstream.audioReliable=false;" but it doesn't make any difference.
I am running Media Server 3.5.2. The server is still non production. I copy video files to webroot/vod/video.flv. From the client workstation I attempt to access [URL] and get nothing. It was my understanding video's copied here could be viewed as such.

View 1 RepliesI had an flv recording from a webcam.It mostly recorded fine, but there's one point where I paused the broadcast for an intermission.A few minutes later the broadcast started again but the video doesn't play beyond that point, only audio plays.A few minutes later in the recording the broadcast switched to another camera and the video starts playing again just fine from there.I can't seek past the frozen point either to skip a couple of seconds ahead.The freeze is at about 9:00.If I seek to 9:01 it jumps ahead 8 minutes to where the camera switches.What's strange in this is that the video is *definitely* in the file.Using Moyea's FLV Editor Pro I converted the FLV to an MPEG and the whole video is there, so it's not that the camera stopped transmitting, it's just that the playback isn't working.

Our firewall is allowing RTMP traffic to each of these ports. Is there something more I can do from my end to make sure users can access our FMS?

View 5 RepliesRight now I do not have "server". Example: I do not have anything like windows sever 2000, 2003 etc. but I have and running IIS server on the same Windows XP Pro. On this very same machine I installed FMS server with the Apache that came with the FMS. I have read and followed the instructions time and time again in deferent ways to deploy my video on the server but no idea I used is working so my clients could view my videos. Looking forward to have site like "hulu" / "You Tube".

View 4 RepliesI have an flash application that captures a web cam video stream and stores it on the FMS server.I notice when I create a brand new video, and store it on my FMS server, it works fine.When I make another video and my application overrides the file with the new video, this is where I get problems.When I download the flv file from the FMS server, and I play it locally it plays fine, but the timeline is weird.The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.A 30 second video, will have a time line of like 45 seconds, the local flv player is smart enough to skip over the paused part of the video.You will see it skip over the timeline to the good video (from 0sec to 15 secs). View 3 RepliesI have a 10 second Intro video that I would like to play before each main video plays. The videos are streaming through FMS 3.5. At the moment I have to attach the intro to the start of the main videos and render out in Premiere Pro CS5 Ideally I would like to set it up so that the intro starts for the 10 seconds and then auto switches to the manin video. To show an example of what I need to do here is a link to an Archery site ( I also do archery as a hobby and noticed this)[URL] If you click on any of the 8 parts for either day 1 or Day two, you will notice a couple the 5 second intro screens and it then automatically goes back to 0 to start the main video.

That's not working. And I have several doubts about it:
1.- It's not working, and I don't know where is the error. I'm not sure what I should add as parameter in GroupSpecifier constructor? GroupSpecs from manifest file?? "com.adobe.pureIPMulticastGroup"??
2.- I've been watching the multicast.as application in FMS4. The only way of publishing multicast streams in FMS4 is using the configurarion from Multicast Config Tool? Is it possible publishing a stream without the GroupsSpec generated by the Config Tool?
3.- If It's mandatory using the config tools for managinf the pure ip multicast. I would like to integrate the Multicast Config Tool in my platform. Is there any place where I could get the code of Multicast Config Tool? Any documentation about how to build it? This component have any flashvars or callbacks that could allow me integrate it in my platform?

i am new to Flash media server,and i face some difficulties!I managed to connect to derver and stream with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the flash file to see the stream it does nothing!I open the .html file that i have created but the only thing i can see is the bar of the player and i can not see the video that i am streaming!

But I'm learning it for my job where eventually I will have to update some templates, and was hoping someone could advise how long this would take an experienced flash person to complete;The animation features a car flying in from left hand side, then three lines of text dropping down on the right hand side, one after another.How long would it take to amend this basic template - animation remains the same but car image is different and text is different.

I realize this is not an official swishmax template but I was wondering how others learned to edit the swish 3.0 templates sold on template monster?
When I opened the swi file that came with the template it looked like this in a preview after TM assured me it would look the same as on their site.
When I contacted them again they said I needed to install the fonts that come with the template.
I was able to install some but for others I got a message that said :
"PFB files for type 1 fonts can't be installed directly. Please install the associated PFM file"
Where do I get the PMF file?
My sample templates are missing, all that shows now are Cateregory: Advertising and different size banners. I searched my harddrive and found the rood folder where they are stored but only the folder for Advertising exist. I haven't deleted anything, so could it have been a glitch at installation, I had startup problems with Flash constantly crashing at the splash screen and finally had to uninstall and reinstall.
