Regex :: Regular Expression To Check Comma Separated Number Values In Flex

find the suitable regular expression to validate a string that has comma separated numbers, for e.g. '1,2,3' or '111,234234,-09', etc. Anything else should be considered invalid. for e.g. '121as23' or '123-123' is invalid. I suppose this must be possible in Flex using regular expression but I can not find the correct regular expression.

Actionscript :: RegEx To Match Comma Separated Numbers With Optional Decimal Part

Oct 14, 2009

I've a regex that matches comma separated numbers with an optional two digit decimal part in a given multiline text.

/(?<=s|^)d{1,3}(,d{3})*(.d{2})?(?=s|$)/m

It matches strings like 1, 12, 12.34, 12,345.67 etc successfully. How can I modify it to match a number with only the decimal part like .23?

EDIT: Just to clarify - I would like to modify the regex so that it matches 12, 12.34 and .34

And I am looking for 'stand alone' valid numbers. i.e., number-strings whose boundaries are either white space or start/end of line/string.

Regex :: Replace Contiguous Line Feeds Or New Line Characters With A Single Newline In Flex

Dec 26, 2011

I need to replace multiple contiguous new line/line feed characters in flex with a single new line character.

Example:

The string

"My name is blah blah

My name is blah
"

Should be converted to

"My name is blah blah
My name is blah
"

Hope the example makes it easier to understand.

I am using a component to render it.

I guess using regex would be the easiest way to do this, but still it would be great if people can point me out to references/examples to get this done with ease.

I am using flex 4.5.

private var num:Number = 123456.78;
<mx:Label text={num} />

Obviously I could just create a function, but is there a more simple way?

Regex :: If Part Of Substring Is True Then Replace Part Of Substring With Running Var?

Mar 9, 2011

Ok perhaps ive bitten off too much here...I know you are not supposed to parse xml/html to regex but the thing is there just arent many other options.Im using AS3.im parsing the source of textflowlayout text to a different format.

string to parse :

< fontFamily=Verdana encoding=unicode fontWeight="bold"> some text < fontFamily=Verdana encoding=unicode > some text < fontFamily=Arial encoding=unicode fontStyle="italic"> some text < fontFamily=Arial encoding=unicode fontWeight="bold" fontStyle="italic"> some text

what i really need is:

< fontname=Verdanabold encoding=unicode> some text < fontname=Verdana encoding=unicode > some text < fontname=Arialitalic encoding=unicode > some text < fontname=Arialbolditalic encoding=unicode > some text

logically i think of it as taking apart the string into substrings

checking if there are fontWeight or fontStyle in the substring

if there is then appending the font name with the weight or style so so that the font name becomes font NameWeightStyle.then rebuilding the string.The font could be any font with variouse styles or weights..so far:

pattern = /<(.*?)>/gixsm;
var matches:Object = pattern.exec(str);
var finalstring:String = "";[code]...........

Flash :: Flex - Builder 4 Spaces Instead Of Tabs?

I've enabled Preferences > General > Editors > Text Editors > Insert spaces for tabs but it still inserts tabs. I've tried editing files with no tabs but it still inserts tabs.

What's strange is that Insert spaces for tabs works in Eclipse but not Flash Builder, which is built on Eclipse. Perhaps there's a bug in Adobe's portion of Flash Builder.

I'm running Flash Builder 4.0.0.272416 on Mac OS X 10.6.

Regex - Flex 3 Regular Expression?

Mar 11, 2010

I've written a url validator for a project I am working on. For my requirements it works great, except when the last part for the url goes longer than 22 characters it breaks. My expression:/((https?)://)([^s.]+.)+([^s.]+)(:d+/S+)/i

It expects input that looks like "http(s)://hostname:port/location". When I give it the input: https://demo10:443/111112222233333444445

it works, but if I pass the input https://demo10:443/1111122222333334444455

it breaks. You can test it out easily at[URL].. Oddly, I can't reproduce the problem with just the relevant (I would think) part /(:d+/S+)/i. I can have as many characters after the required / and it works great. Any ideas or known bugs?

Flex - Setting TextAlign To Centered On A TextArea Trailing Spaces Aren't Used To Determine Centerin?g

Oct 9, 2009

I'm doing something wrong but I have a textarea where I've specified textAlign = center and if I type in text with several trailing spaces, it doesn't count the spaces towards centering the text. If I add another character to the text (after all the spaces) it then all of a sudden centers the line, is this a bug, can anybody think of a good solution?

To replicate:
-Create a textArea
-Set textAlign=center

Run the application and type in something like 'FOOBAR' followed by 10 spaces, note that it centers FOOBAR but stops centering the text while you're typing the spaces Now type another string like 'WTF', now it'll all of a sudden center the whole line.

Regex :: Flex - Matching Strings That Begin And End With The Same Character

Oct 28, 2009

I need to match a string that begins and ends with the same character in flex...I know the long hand way (RE being - "a[^(a")]a" | "b[^(b")b" | etc...), but I'm positive this isn't what I'm required to do (midterm tomorrow!);

I need to do this in flex, but if you can think of a short regex for it, I may be able to convert it to flex notation.

What I was thinking of was something along the lines of -

%%
int firstChar;
%x string;
%%

[Code].....

But this bugs me in a few ways, first, having that variable makes this not a regular language; second, I don't know if you can even use a variable to in a pattern match; and third, I don't know how NOT to match it, if it's just a normal string. And third, I don't know how to return everything that's been matched while in 'string'
