Replace Background Image With Swf File In Html?
May 5, 2009I want my swf animation to be set as the background in my html page so I can put tables on top of it. I tried to do it but the swf file is not coming up.

Nov 26, 2010I made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

Sep 22, 2004I want to preload external swfs into my main movie. The most common approach to this is to load the swf into a targetmc or a specific level. This makes the current info that you can see in the targetmc to be replaced by the new swf. While the new swf is loading it leaves the targetmc blank or is replaced by a preloader. The user expericence gets interrupted in my opinion.
Now, I want a preloader that first loads the new swf and then, only then, replaces the current info in the targetmc. This makes it possible to view the current info until the new swf is fully loaded. That way you have something to do while waiting. You should be able to see a preloader bar placed, say, at the lower end of the page.

Nov 28, 2010I need the exact simple application but the ability to choose a background image from a file on the server as the canvas and I want to save the created image on a server file instead of on the client machine. The ability to change the pencil drawing size would be an additional plus. I work with php and mysql so I would like to use them to store the file parameters, even as a blob in mysql, along with some additional user (server) defined variables (I can do the php/mysql side if I can get the file there, I understand there is an swf to png ByteArray class that might be able to save on server. The project is for an opensource group so the final product would need to remain as such, I would be able to pay for the modifications mentioned above. 1) on this dude's site, Beyond the Pixel, he/she's got the style sheet repeating a trend gif. I created one myself and have got it working on my htm file. Problem is, I want to be able to get the htm repeated image to seamlessly blend into my swf file. How did BTP do it? I assume I need to estimate the pixel distance (the repeated gif I'm using is 5x5 pixels) then absolute place the swf file using proper css placement code. Then I'd just start that same gif in flash on the movie's edge and repeat it across the movie (x and y). I think I'm right on the former, but feel that I'm being to simplistic in the latter.
2) I followed this tutorial on preloaders. Got it to work, even managed to get it to load vertically and change the size of the loadBar. Problem, and it may not be on true publishing, but when I test the movie, the preloader does its deal but right before it goes to frame 3 to display a ND picture, a little green box pops up in the upper left of the frame. It does this every time. I'm using Flash MX '04 on a G5.

Professional :: Import A New Image To Replace The Old Image The Button Disappears
May 5, 2010As part of a much, much larger project, a client has asked me to take an existing flash banner, change the graphic, text, and link to make 4 more that are almost identical. Though I haven't worked extensively with Flash, I am familiar with it and thought this should be fairly easy, right? (Unfortunately, easy isn't exactly the word I'd use.)
I'm trying to take an existing fla, and change just the graphic, text, and button link to make a nearly identical banner. However, when I import a new image to replace the old image, the button disappears. I've tried overwriting the current image as well, and while I have a new image to show on the banner, and the text still works just fine, AND I have the outline of the box that should house the button (it even shows in the library),
Additionally, I will need to change the link, and since I'm having this much problem with a button, maybe you could understand how that works as well, because I can't even change it on the original.

Mar 2, 2011I am embedding a website into my application, and Adobe Air does not recognize the breakline HTML tag in the source code (Firefox and Chrome auto-correct the error). I have attached the source code below. Is there a way to replace the breakline with the correct syntax (no forward slash). I do not control the website, I am merely loading it into my application, so I can't just change it at the source. I am using an mx: html object and htmlLoader to load the url.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Replace Html Character Entities?
Jan 25, 2010i've encountered this several times and wondering if there's a solution beyond actually changing the database field values...The problem is that i have string values being pushed to flash (via xml) with html character codes in them like:
"natronp&apos:s funland"
when ideally, i would get:
"natronp's funland"
Anyway to replace these in flash that i've missed? Otherwise it seems i would need a pretty heavy-duty find/replace actionscript script/class to make this happen!

The text that is coming in has html tags mainly break tags that are adding a considerable amt of space between each paragraph. can some one point me in the right direction as to how I could find and replace the break tags with nothing so the would go away? Jun 10, 2009I am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.

I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.

May 1, 2008I'm doing my final year uni project (1 week left) and having trouble with some actionscripting and xml.Basically I have all the usual AS coding sorted out for my XML data and it's working fine but what I want to do is replace the xml file with another xml file depending on what button (I have 25 different files/buttons to do) is pressed.
So button 1 will put in: xmlFile.load("button1.xml")Button 2 will replace the above scripting with: xmlFile.load("button2.xml")
Is this possible? I don't want to create 25 instances/frames of the full xml text as the xml datat is displayed on an animation and it would significantly increase the file size.

Aug 31, 2009I am making a simple Flash animation that I would like to put online and let people visiting my site upload a picture of their face so they can be the character, like on Elf Yourself. How do I do that? I'm assuming I make the animation with a square image of a face that I mask out, and the image gets replaced when a new one is uploaded, but I don't know how to set that up dynamically, or if there's a better way.

img.source = PATH_TO_IMAGE;
The problem with this is when I replace the image is it is not smooth even if you set the image property to smoothBitmapContent.
Is there a way to smoothen images when you are trying to replace the source?

For example: blurring license plates on cars or pictures with other people in them in which they should be blurred. I've done some googling and not found anything close to what I'm looking for.
