View 2 RepliesIn a nut shell, it's been years since I've used flash, and recently I've been working on a rather modern and complex flash website template that I've purchased. What I want to be able to do is change a dynamic gallery, so that instead of displaying an images, it displays flv's. [code]...
View 3 RepliesThis will create an flv video file on flash media server:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.publish("yourCamera", "record");
ns.attachVideo(Camera.get());
How can I generate an image for the current video frame every 2 seconds?
I want my swf animation to be set as the background in my html page so I can put tables on top of it. I tried to do it but the swf file is not coming up.

View 1 Repliesi've designed an xml driven photogallery using actionscript 3.0. I wanted the thumbnails to be replaced with the numbers which form dynamically from the xml file. i.e I simply want the numbers, on clicking them loads respective images Please give a solution to this, or please suggest a good tutorial. here's the code i've worked on and im stuck replacing

As part of a much, much larger project, a client has asked me to take an existing flash banner, change the graphic, text, and link to make 4 more that are almost identical. Though I haven't worked extensively with Flash, I am familiar with it and thought this should be fairly easy, right? (Unfortunately, easy isn't exactly the word I'd use.)
I'm trying to take an existing fla, and change just the graphic, text, and button link to make a nearly identical banner. However, when I import a new image to replace the old image, the button disappears. I've tried overwriting the current image as well, and while I have a new image to show on the banner, and the text still works just fine, AND I have the outline of the box that should house the button (it even shows in the library),
Additionally, I will need to change the link, and since I'm having this much problem with a button, maybe you could understand how that works as well, because I can't even change it on the original.
I am unable to get the exact look when i replace the image with new image.I took one sample program. In this one image will be rotating. I tried replacing this image with new one, but it's not working as old animation.(Actual Old animation is some thing like Moving a needle, after replacing the image with new one needle is rotating some thing like along the boundary of circle. I am unable to find the root cause and solution.I didn't changed any thing in the code.)How to get the smooth rotation?
View 2 RepliesI have the following code in place to move a variable from my Flash app to an XML file for storage [code] how do I go about getting my VoucherNo variable from.Flash to replace the value in the GoodVoucher field in my XML file?
View 3 RepliesI am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.
Code:
[Embed(source='globe.png')]
public function Globe()
{
var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader();
[code]....
The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.
I'm doing my final year uni project (1 week left) and having trouble with some actionscripting and xml.Basically I have all the usual AS coding sorted out for my XML data and it's working fine but what I want to do is replace the xml file with another xml file depending on what button (I have 25 different files/buttons to do) is pressed.
So button 1 will put in: xmlFile.load("button1.xml")Button 2 will replace the above scripting with: xmlFile.load("button2.xml")
Is this possible? I don't want to create 25 instances/frames of the full xml text as the xml datat is displayed on an animation and it would significantly increase the file size.
I have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.
1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?
I am a beginner looking to build my first Flash product. I am attempting to replace an existing PowerPoint, which is all text and picture based, and make it less boring by using Flash. I need to replace the pictures with about 25 short video files all under 30 seconds. Is it worth it to do this in Flash?Is there an existing template for this type of project?
View 3 RepliesI am making a simple Flash animation that I would like to put online and let people visiting my site upload a picture of their face so they can be the character, like on Elf Yourself. How do I do that? I'm assuming I make the animation with a square image of a face that I mask out, and the image gets replaced when a new one is uploaded, but I don't know how to set that up dynamically, or if there's a better way.
View 3 RepliesI am creating an image dynamically on flex. This images changes (as in changes image source) when the user clicks on it. Images are PNG format and I replace it with this code:
img.source = PATH_TO_IMAGE;
The problem with this is when I replace the image is it is not smooth even if you set the image property to smoothBitmapContent.
Is there a way to smoothen images when you are trying to replace the source?
I'm loading an external image and I'm trying to replace a color in this image with another color.
ActionScript Code:
var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader();
var image:URLRequest = new URLRequest("my_image.png");
imageLoader.load(image);
addChildAt(imageLoader, 0);
I'm trying to replace all green pixels with red pixels but not sure how to do this.
I've never tried to do anything like this. Basically what I need to do is scan an image and blur the part that resembles a certain shape. For example: blurring license plates on cars or pictures with other people in them in which they should be blurred. I've done some googling and not found anything close to what I'm looking for.
View 4 Repliesi have this code which allows me to replace the mouse cursor with an image but i would also like to change the image when the mouse is clicked down using a different image. the code i am using for just replacing the mouse cursor is:

Looking into HTML5 video tag, and researching which browsers support which video file types, and my initial thought is things just got harder than just using flash. I am wondering if there is some skeleton code (combined with development approach for videos) that someone has figured out to do the following: If flash is available, use it If not, try html5 video ogg format If that doesn't work, try html5 video h.264 format If that doesn't work, try html5 video webM format Based on what I am seeing, am I correct in thinking that now, in order to accommodate all users on all browsers, a video needs to be published in 4 formats? If so, this HTML5 video thing is an epic fail!
View 2 RepliesI have a as file which basically draws a box around the bottom of your mouth and I am using a beginFill () function for the box. Basically I need to replace this fill with a bitmap image using beginBitmapFill () command. The trouble is I cannot find any resources that show me how to make the bitmap image wether it be a movieclip or graphic.
Also code (if it helps any) ActionScript Code: g.drawRect( r.x * scaleFactor, r.y * scaleFactor, r.width* scaleFactor, r.height * scaleFactor ); g.beginFill(0xFF0000); g.drawRect(r.x * scaleFactor + (r.width* scaleFactor)/3.6, r.y * scaleFactor + (r.height * scaleFactor)/1.65, 70, 40); g.endFill();

I'm having some real trouble getting .replace to actually replace something. Here's my code...
[Code]...
I can trace both newFiles[i] and keywords[i][whatever], but the replace doesn't replace anything. The regex is valid as well. I'm using regexr to test it, and it works perfectly there... but will not for me and I don't know why.
We're building a web-based application that requires heavy image processing. We'd like this processing load to be on the client as much as possible and we'd like to support as much platforms (even mobiles) as much as possible. Here's the info: Image processing is rasterization from some data. Think like creating a PNG image from a PDF file. We don't have a lot of server power. So client-side processing is a bit of a must.
So, we're considering: Flash - most widespread, but from what i read has lackluster development tools. (and no iPhone/iPad support for now). Silverlight - allows us to use .NET CLR, so a big ++ (a lot of code is in .NET). But is not supported for most mobiles ( rumored android support in the future) HTML5 + Javascript - probably the most "portable" option. The problem is having to rewrite all that image processing code in Javascript.
Clarification: I don't need further ideas on what libraries are available for Silverlight and Javascript. My dilemma is choosing Silverlight means no support for most mobiles choosing Flash means we have to redevelop most of our code AND no iPhone/iPad support HTML5 + Javascript we have to redevelop most of our code and not fully supported yet in all browsers choosing two (Silverlight + Flash) will be too costly Any out-of-the-box or bright ideas / alternatives
I am building a flash widget for uploading files, but I want to display the thumbnail with html/js, once I have the file loaded via Browse into flash and have access to the raw data, is there a way to convert that to a base64 encoded dataURL so I can send that back out to JS to create a thumbnail like ?

I am using a flipbook Flash/Actionscript 3.0 framework for a digital magazine[url]...
You can have videos embedded in the pages of the flipbook, but they can not be display fullscreen like Youtube videos, for example.
The flipbook can also import swf files to display as pages of the flipbook, so another way of embedding videos into a page of the flipbook would be to have the video player in the swf page you are embedding. This gives you more control over the style and the positioning of the video.
My question is: Is there a way with AS3.0 to togle the embedded video from normal predefined size to fullscreen and back?
