I am trying to dynamically load a HTML page into a textfield and I want to use <img src='something.jpeg'>, but it does not work.
Everything else seems to be loaded on the page but the image. No Errors nothing but no image neither. how to add image from an HTML file dynamically?
I am trying to place a flash file on an image at a specific location. how can i do this?
i tried something like this

bit it did not work. how can i overlap a flash file on top on an image at a specific location?
I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows

It works well in IE but not in Firefox.

i have a text box in flash which has text loaded dynamically from a .txt file. and its html enabled.. the text file has a variable name. notes but it doesnt have an instant name.... the problem i have is. that when i snap a flash mx scroll bar component. it gives it an instant name but the scroll bar doesnt work.

I want now to press a button that takes a screengrab of the flash player and saves it to the server.I'm aware this will require scripting to talk to the server but for the flash part of taking a I've even considered using fscommand to somehow access the printscreen function but don't think this will work after checking the documentation.

At the moment it will output a 72 dpi image at the same resolution as the swf movie, but I've been asked about the possibility of generating a 300 dpi image instead.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to create html links from a external xml file to be dynamically added to a text field (im using flash builder)the process i am having trouble is: -Loading an external swf which contains the textfield loading external xml which contains the cdata with links adding the cdata to the htmltext property of the textfield the link is showing correctly, the mouse turns into a hand... but when i click on the link it doesnt work. i have seen a few forum posts similar to this problem but all are using textfield control in flash builder but im trying to add the cdata into an externally loaded swf which holds the textfield.

View 3 RepliesI am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
i am trying to add extra images to the photo gallery attached. I would have thought it is easy and it seems so. I add an extra image to the gallery. I publish it. The html file shows the extra image in the gallery but the swf doesnt. driving me crazy, cant work it out?

LOVE stack overflow!I am working on the same site and the other day I was on a computer and the uploader script was not working (uploadify), I was frustrated and looked through the code and everything was fine, worked on all other computers, then I decided to check if flash was installed and it wasnt.
Is there any way to check if the user has flash, and if they dont somehow say that on the page? I know for Javascript there is a tag, but is there something I can use for Flash?
I'm creating a moodboard application where the user can dynamically load an image onto the stage by pressing a thumb of the image in a menu item. I have most of that working but what I would like to know is that, if there is a way the user can interactively scale/transform the image when it is on the stage in the swf file?

But if I load an image from the app workspace, everything works fine (I see the image and Jquery works). Is this a policy problem? The error says that is a "null object reference" problem, but this can't be true...
I have imported a bunch of images from photoshop and I want the images to act as links -- similar to an image-map. Is there a way to have a mouseover apply only to an image within a movieclip instead of the entire movieclip? For example -- lets say I have a 45 degree line contained in a movieclip... I only want the line to receive mouseover events and not the whitespace of the bounding movieclip.

View 12 RepliesHaving got into flash about a year ago, I have a fairly good understanding of as3, but I have never had any reason to learn as2. For an upcoming project, we were looking to use Scaleform GFx, with the UDK. (Unreal Development Kit) Trouble is, Scaleform only supports as2. From what I've been told, as3 is supposed to be better in just about every way, so I really don't want to learn a language that?s most likely on the way out, if I have any other options.
Is there any converters out there, that can convert script from as3 to as2? Or another workaround possibility, since flash communicates with the UDK by means of just calling a function, could I create an as2 file that could dynamically load an as3 file?

I need to figure out how to utilize one SWF player/file to load different streaming F4V files dynamically.[code]...
Currently I am publishing a separate SWF player/file for each F4V, but this is unacceptable. I need to use one SWF file to load different F4V files. I'm not that knowledgeable in the ways of Flash, but I believe that the "src" attribute of the embed tag and the "name='movie'" attribute of the object's param tag needs to point to the SWF player/file. So does anybody know how I can manipulate the object and embed tags to make them load a different F4V file into the SWF player?
