Nov 19, 2008how to control flash with wireless presenter or a PDA Phone? I have problem with this, i see many presenter are using wireless presenter to control powerpoint slides instead of standing near the pc/laptop to press next button with finger, i'm wondering whether the wireless presenter works with flash too? and i own a pda phone, i can treat it as a powerpoint remote presenter, but it can't work with flash.

Apr 17, 2008I work at an agency that uses Powerpoint for all of our presentations. I know there are templates in Flash for that. I wanted to gauge and see if there are many companies out there that actually use Flash for this. Wanted to find out the pros and cons? The major obstacle I see is those working on these and wanting to make last minute changes wouldn't be able to w/o knowing Flash. So I can see it's very specialized. I'm not familiar enough with 3rd party tools for putting Flash into PP or what they would allow you to do.

Feb 9, 2010Im currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. Ive tried creating the actionscript part for this however im completely lost. The XML from the PDF i can manage no probs but the actionscript part is stumping me.

Jul 25, 2006I'm working on a slide presentation, and for the most part, I haven't had too many problems. But one quirk I'm trying to overcome is getting a slide to replay if the presenter re-enters it. Say you have a presentation with 3 slides, and each slide has an animation.After slide 1, you move to slide 2, watch the animation, and go to slide 3. After that animation plays, you want to go back to slide 2 for some reason. When you re-enter slide 2, the animation is stopped at the last frame. I'd like it so that the animation plays again from frame 1 upon re-entry. Is there any way to do this or is this just one of those "Flash Presentation" things I have to live with?

Host Adobe Presenter Presentations On FMS?
May 27, 2011We are running Adobe FMIS 4.0. We have five "applications" which host stream video material just fine. Recently I was asked to host an "Adobe Presenter" presentation (html file, viewer.swf and a file full of xml and swfs) I have spent three days trying to get it to run. I can link to the Presenter presentation if it is hosted on public network storage, but I can not seem to get it to run under an application in FMS?

It seems it can only control flvs?nyways, I am working on a flash animation with voice over and I need to have a video ontroller so it can rewind, fast forward, pause the swf and turn off the sound....etc....oes anyone know any video controller in AS3 that can control swfs out there that I can download or purchase?I know I could convert the swf to quicktime then flv, but the quality would be degraded because of the conversion from vector graphics to bitmap. I certainly wouldn't want to have that.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Ruby Controller Won't Redirect Page With Flash?
Oct 15, 2008i am trying to build a site using ruby on rails and flash. i am trying to build a login page and i have my flash component with two text fields for user name and password. when the submit button is pressed, it sends the login info typed in to the text fields to the ruby controller via xml through a URLLoader. the controller then looks at this info and determines if it is correct or not and if it is, then it attempts to redirect the page in the view to another part of the website.
this is where the problem comes in. when the page is being redirected, it gets stuck and just says "transfering data from host" at the bottom but never redirects the page. this is all still on a local machine so it is not some sort of communication problem with the server. also if i replace the flash component with plain html it will redirect just fine. in addition to this, if i make it redirect from withen the flash component using navigateToURL that will work as well. the information is also getting sent correctly because it is setting off a COMPLETE event.
Professional :: Flash Video Play Automatically With No Controller Bar

I can encode Flash video, and place a nice skin (controller bar) into the file, within Fash, but when I place the final .SWF file into my Dreamweaver page (Insert-->Media-->Flash), and test it in a browser, the vid will play automatically and there is no skin (controller bar). The skin file is residing in the same folder as the .FLV and the .SWF file, but for some reason the skin refuses to allow itself to be seen.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Symbols - Cannot Get Global Sound Volume From Controller
May 12, 2010I inherited a flash application at work that is basically a bunch of symbols with actionscript inside each of them. There is also an external actionscript file that serves as the application controller, with much of the application logic in various frames of Scene 1. Some of the symbols are supposed to play a sound file on mouse over, which they do just fine, but when I try to get the global sound volume from the controller:

It doesn't work because it doesn't recognize the controller object. This is strange because the controller is called all throughout the project, but it is not seen within symbols.
ActionScript 2.0 :: Use A Sound Controller In A Flash Movie To Play Music?
Apr 9, 2004I am trying to use a sound controller in a flash movie to play music and I am using loadMovieNum to load the sound controller movie at a particular point in the main timeline. I get the sound player to load up fine and the sound loads fine when a user presses play, but about a minute through the song the sound starts to play again, overlapping the song that is already playing.
This happens with no user interaction...it just takes about a minute. I also noticed that it is only when the sound player is within one of the movies. It doesnt happen when the sound player is all by itself. Is there something in my movie that is making it loop over?

Jul 21, 2010So im opening it up to the commuity as a programming challenge!!For something which i assumed would be very simple, writting a robust and solid multi turn spinner handle for flash in as3 has become the bane of my life.Feel free to download my attempts so far (attached), which cover the basics of a single rotation, and make it look like im further ahead than i actually am.The difficulty lies with the very specific things I personally need the spinner to do,and the fact its SO HARD to explain..Its actually used to control a piece of animation that is 72 frames long.I need the first "lap" of rotation to send the playhead to frames in the 1-36 range and the second rotation to send it to frames 37-72. So two full spins would take it to the final frame, one full spin would go half way to frame 36.
Problem is the rotator handle needs to be locked at the initial position, so a user can't drag it backwards to start with but can drag it backwards once theyve moved forwards. (think of turning on a hot water tap, many turns in one direction until it stops fully on, then the same turns back again to reach the original start position of fully off)I also need the rotator to be able to be used in anti clockwise and clockwise modes.The ideal is to be able to set the total number of animation frames to be controlled and the number of rotations required to reach the final frame, then have the spinner work everything else out for me.

Mar 15, 2010I'm using CS4 and encountered an issue that I can't resolve when using the controller. When an audio file (MP3) is on the timeline, I hit play on the controller to listen to audio but when I hit stop, the play head stops while the audio continues to play. I also noticed that when scrubbing the timeline you can't hear the audio.
Has anyone encountered this? This issue doesn't happen in CS3 and since a lot of my work deals with syncing graphics to narration I have to go back to CS3, which I don't want to do.

Jul 8, 2009The first is that when loading an external swf in my main SWF I get this in the output window:

But it still works. Its an mp3 player. The other problem is that the loaded SWF has a volume controller. When I test the external SWF by itself it works fine. When I load it on my main SWF when I start to drag the handle on my volume slider and MOUSE_UP outside the handle it still keep dragging the handle.
