I need (badly) to add a preloader to a flash presentation.But googling around I didn't found a solution to this.I can't believe that you can't do this in an easy way.I can't re-create the slide presentation from scratch using the flash timeline (it would take ages)
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a slide presentation, and for the most part, I haven't had too many problems. But one quirk I'm trying to overcome is getting a slide to replay if the presenter re-enters it. Say you have a presentation with 3 slides, and each slide has an animation.After slide 1, you move to slide 2, watch the animation, and go to slide 3. After that animation plays, you want to go back to slide 2 for some reason. When you re-enter slide 2, the animation is stopped at the last frame. I'd like it so that the animation plays again from frame 1 upon re-entry. Is there any way to do this or is this just one of those "Flash Presentation" things I have to live with?
View 7 RepliesI work at an agency that uses Powerpoint for all of our presentations. I know there are templates in Flash for that. I wanted to gauge and see if there are many companies out there that actually use Flash for this. Wanted to find out the pros and cons? The major obstacle I see is those working on these and wanting to make last minute changes wouldn't be able to w/o knowing Flash. So I can see it's very specialized. I'm not familiar enough with 3rd party tools for putting Flash into PP or what they would allow you to do.

View 1 RepliesIm currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. Ive tried creating the actionscript part for this however im completely lost. The XML from the PDF i can manage no probs but the actionscript part is stumping me.

Recently I was asked to host an "Adobe Presenter" presentation (html file, viewer.swf and a file full of xml and swfs) I have spent three days trying to get it to run. I can link to the Presenter presentation if it is hosted on public network storage, but I can not seem to get it to run under an application in FMS?

Basically, I just want a loading bar, "loading" text, and the percentage text (this should all be in AS3). I know that in Flash CS5, a preloader bar is included as one of the components. The only problem is that I don't know what to do with it (and it shows up as blue and white so not sure how to change the colour).

Copying the loader movieclip to the first frame in my timeline and so on. Gon through the instructions several times and is pretty sure I´m not missing anything.Anyway, when publishong I get the following error message:[code]Warning: 1058: Migration issue: The property _root is no longer supported.This property has been removed. I have searched for days (well hours) for an answer to my requirement on line and have gotten exactly nowhere. I mean if I just wanted a black box with a 100% loading rectangle I'd be sorted by now but that's NOT what I need so I'm pining my hopes on the expertise within this forum.
What I need is a preloader with a single static graphic and 100% counter which stops running and displays a black rectangle before the main fla file kicks in. I have tried every which way to achieve this and the closest I got was a single static graphic with a static loading sign which was viewable at every transition in my main fla file as the graphics were changing?

View 7 RepliesI am facing a very peculiar problem while creating a preloader in flash. I have created a flash image gallery entirely in flash as requested. And a preloader. Now when I test my movie in local machine using simulate download feature the preloader works just fine. However when I upload it on the server the first frame of the preloader can be seen and it freezes there nothing happens though after some time the movie loads and rest of the animation then plays fine. I have checked my code it doesn't give any error on compiling. The flash SWF is being inserted in a Joomla driven website. However, that will not be a cause of problem I guess as an old preloader seems to run fine. I am using Flash CS5 Demo. I also tried saving file in CS4 and then publishing it. Still no luck.

I am having trouble recreating the issue.There are 2 files, loader.swf, and external.swf.The first, gets the bytes of the second, displays a progress percentage, and loads the external upon completion.I used the Adobe Flash CS5 sample files to create the loader.Issue:On a Mac, running Safari 4.1.3 (this is all that I know), the progress bar would go all the way to 100%, but then freeze and not load the second swf.I have no issues in any of IE, Firefox, Chrome, or even Safari on any of my PC's/Macs/Adobe BrowserLab.The HTML page uses a combination of swfFit and swfobject to display the loader.
Has anyone ever heard of this issue?Could the swfObject/swfFit correctly load the first swf, but then fail with the Loader class within the loader.swf?Could the the fact that the swfObject minimum flash version check was version 8.0.0? I've got a SWF to which I added a Preloader scene. The preloader works fine when I hit Ctrl+Enter in Flash CS4, and select View > Simulate Download. The preloader displays, and when full, the movie continues as expected. However, the moment I embed the SWF into some HTML, and load from localhost in any browser, the movie doesn't continue until I right click and select Play. When I use the Charles Web Debugging Proxy tool and throttle the connection, then again preloading works fine, and the movie proceeds when done? Here's the source for the preloader:

View 11 RepliesI have found heaps of preloaders that work on the time line of game but offer no protection.Does anyone know where I can get a sample code for this or where I can buy a preloader from so that it loads before the game and if someone tries to save the page they get the preloader instead of the SWF? flash designer I know said its possible but hasn't got time to create one. My web page, which contains a SWF using AS3 opens great in Chrome, Firefox, & Safari. When I open the page in Internet Explorer it freezes on the preloader for some reason I can not figure out.
View 3 RepliesI have been trying to create from scratch and/or use SpinningPreloaderComponent to create a preloader for a SWF that loads an external flv in frame 2.What seems to be happening is that The preloader exists for about 5 seconds and then jumps to frame 2 and continues to load without the progress meter. Although I've tried to use bytes total or default settings, nothing seems to work correctly.So I'm wondering if this problem is created because the preloader can't measure the flv size? Also wondering if it is possible to start playing the flv at say load of 20% as a buffer rather than 100%. I have also set the flv as progressive when trying to insert it directly via Dreamweaver CS5 but all I get is a blank screen.

View 6 RepliesSo I have a looping SWF file that I uploaded on my website. It played perfectly until I decided to add a preloader.
I set up the Flash file with 2 Scenes, "Preloader" and "Scene 1" .The Preloader scene will play just fine. After the preloader plays, Scene 1 then begins to play as it should. However, once the animation ends, instead of looping like it did before, it just stops on the first frame.
How can I get my SWF to play the Preloader, and then continue looping the main animation (Scene 1)?
