Apr 5, 2011I need to create or edit which ever is easier the preloader for a flash banner which someone else created. I have searched for days (well hours) for an answer to my requirement on line and have gotten exactly nowhere. I mean if I just wanted a black box with a 100% loading rectangle I'd be sorted by now but that's NOT what I need so I'm pining my hopes on the expertise within this forum.
What I need is a preloader with a single static graphic and 100% counter which stops running and displays a black rectangle before the main fla file kicks in. I have tried every which way to achieve this and the closest I got was a single static graphic with a static loading sign which was viewable at every transition in my main fla file as the graphics were changing?

If i use NetStream actions bytesLoaded and bytesTotal to create preloader this show how many bytes are loaded I want to create how many seconds of video file are loaded. The same preloader are on youtube player. If i use NetStream actions and if i move slider of position to end of preloader bar video is no playing from place where i put slider but slider are go back, and then video is playing. I want to video are playing from place where i put slider.

May 23, 2002i tried the tutorial that teaches you how to create a preloader....i followed the instructions and it still doesnt work! what's wrg?[code]on my first frame actions....i put the "gotoAndPlay (36)" cause i tried a previous preloader that took more than 1 frame and didnt want to change my button's "goTo" frames...but i figured it wont change anything..anyways, i put that line of code as my first frame action....by double clicking the timeline..then i create a symbol for that frame 1 and created an animation.

when i run my app. the progress function is called a few times while the app isn't visible. and when the loading bar displays it's always full.And then i wait for the app to load and it starts after that.It's like the progress event isn't giving me the progress of the rest of application, it's like it's giving me the progress of itself, so i can always see the bar only full.

Professional :: Create A Flash Program That Uses It's Own Code To Send And Create Images?
Sep 29, 2010I'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.

Basically, I just want a loading bar, "loading" text, and the percentage text (this should all be in AS3). I know that in Flash CS5, a preloader bar is included as one of the components. The only problem is that I don't know what to do with it (and it shows up as blue and white so not sure how to change the colour).

Nov 8, 2010I have made a flash site using CS3.I bought a preloader online but cant get it to work (not getting any responce from the site where I bought it). It should be straight forward. Copying the loader movieclip to the first frame in my timeline and so on. Gon through the instructions several times and is pretty sure I´m not missing anything.Anyway, when publishong I get the following error message:[code]Warning: 1058: Migration issue: The property _root is no longer supported.This property has been removed. The closest equivalent is the Stage, which serves as the root of the ActionScript 3.0 display list..I do believe the actionscript used in the preloader is v.2 and the project is made in AS3.

Sep 19, 2010I am facing a very peculiar problem while creating a preloader in flash. I have created a flash image gallery entirely in flash as requested. And a preloader. Now when I test my movie in local machine using simulate download feature the preloader works just fine. However when I upload it on the server the first frame of the preloader can be seen and it freezes there nothing happens though after some time the movie loads and rest of the animation then plays fine. I have checked my code it doesn't give any error on compiling. The flash SWF is being inserted in a Joomla driven website. However, that will not be a cause of problem I guess as an old preloader seems to run fine. I am using Flash CS5 Demo. I also tried saving file in CS4 and then publishing it. Still no luck.

Feb 17, 2011After several months of use, the sf's preloader in my site has an issue. I am having trouble recreating the issue.There are 2 files, loader.swf, and external.swf.The first, gets the bytes of the second, displays a progress percentage, and loads the external upon completion.I used the Adobe Flash CS5 sample files to create the loader.Issue:On a Mac, running Safari 4.1.3 (this is all that I know), the progress bar would go all the way to 100%, but then freeze and not load the second swf.I have no issues in any of IE, Firefox, Chrome, or even Safari on any of my PC's/Macs/Adobe BrowserLab.The HTML page uses a combination of swfFit and swfobject to display the loader.
Has anyone ever heard of this issue?Could the swfObject/swfFit correctly load the first swf, but then fail with the Loader class within the loader.swf?Could the the fact that the swfObject minimum flash version check was version 8.0.0? Would a flash player 8.0.0 load an AS3 Flash 10.0 loader.swf, but fail on a more complex AS3 Flash 10.0 external.swf?Here is the loader's code:

Actionscript 3 :: Preloader Not Working In Browser But Does In Flash Professional
May 10, 2010I've got a SWF to which I added a Preloader scene. The preloader works fine when I hit Ctrl+Enter in Flash CS4, and select View > Simulate Download. The preloader displays, and when full, the movie continues as expected. However, the moment I embed the SWF into some HTML, and load from localhost in any browser, the movie doesn't continue until I right click and select Play. When I use the Charles Web Debugging Proxy tool and throttle the connection, then again preloading works fine, and the movie proceeds when done? Here's the source for the preloader:

May 9, 2009I have created a video in After Effects that I exported to an FLV movie. I would like to use it as an intro for my website but I would like to have a preloader for it... I don't need anything complicated, a 'youtube style' little circle thing would be totally fine.
Now I tried an Action-Script-two-frame preloader. It works but when my video finally plays, the sound is not synchronized with the images; which is kind of annoying as I used visual effects that need to be synchronized with the music and sound effects. Would anyone would have some simple AS that I could use for that.

Aug 10, 2004I have created some swf files using non macromedia software. I have loaded them as targets into movieclips in my flash file. I have then animated these movieclips linked with the external swf files. The animation of the movieclips links to what is going on in the swf files. Therefore I need to load the external swf file completely before I can animate it.What is the best way to achieve this? do i create an external preloader? How would I do this? (i'm a beginner and don't need any loading bars or anything, just a very very simple preloader!)
