We are running Adobe FMIS 4.0. We have five "applications" which host stream video material just fine. Recently I was asked to host an "Adobe Presenter" presentation (html file, viewer.swf and a file full of xml and swfs) I have spent three days trying to get it to run. I can link to the Presenter presentation if it is hosted on public network storage, but I can not seem to get it to run under an application in FMS?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a slide presentation, and for the most part, I haven't had too many problems. But one quirk I'm trying to overcome is getting a slide to replay if the presenter re-enters it. Say you have a presentation with 3 slides, and each slide has an animation.After slide 1, you move to slide 2, watch the animation, and go to slide 3. After that animation plays, you want to go back to slide 2 for some reason. When you re-enter slide 2, the animation is stopped at the last frame. I'd like it so that the animation plays again from frame 1 upon re-entry. Is there any way to do this or is this just one of those "Flash Presentation" things I have to live with?

View 2 RepliesAIR seems to keep its own DNS cache when an application is running, and ignores any changes to the OS DNS cache (i.e. ipconfig /flushdns.More specifically, I'm creating multiple URLStream & URLRequest objects over a long period of time in a AIR application. Once the first one connects the host's IP address is cached for the lifetime of the application.And the URLRequest.useCache property,understandably,has no effect on DNS caching.how to force a host name to re-resolve inside a AIR (or Flash) application?
Note: Unfortunately, resolving the IP through a web service and rewriting the URL is not an option as a workaround.The use-case is downloading files from Amazon S3 using signed URLs which are invalidated if modified.
Update: The test results above were gathered on WinXP prior to AIR 1.5.2. Subsequent tests using 1.5.2 show serialized requests with URLStream.load() are re-resolved more frequently but still ignore TTL values.I still haven't figured out what conditions are necessary to trigger the re-resolution, but have noted a couple of cases that prevent it.For instance, if another asynchronous URLStream is active to the same host then requests use the cached IP address and are not resolved. And simply closing and dereferencing all streams to a host is not sufficient to ensure the same host name will be re-resolved in the next request.
I do not want to intertop between c# and AS3 or here. I want a full screen content player in C# which can host a Adobe Flash swf file. Is there an example? In full screen, right clicks would have custom behavior attached.I saw one in Visual c++. As per Chris's I checked the link. I tried adding these lines of code:

I work at an agency that uses Powerpoint for all of our presentations. I know there are templates in Flash for that. I wanted to gauge and see if there are many companies out there that actually use Flash for this. Wanted to find out the pros and cons? The major obstacle I see is those working on these and wanting to make last minute changes wouldn't be able to w/o knowing Flash. So I can see it's very specialized. I'm not familiar enough with 3rd party tools for putting Flash into PP or what they would allow you to do.

View 1 RepliesIm currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. Ive tried creating the actionscript part for this however im completely lost. The XML from the PDF i can manage no probs but the actionscript part is stumping me.

As most of you well know, almost any site can be entirely copied by copying the cached files and the hierarchy (files and folders structure), and it would run without problems on an Apache server with PHP enabled, if used. What I would like to know is: How to bind SWF files to run on a specific host?
The SWFs will be encrypted, so outsiders won't have access to the methods used to stop the SWF from running on a different host, question is: what method to use? I think the solution could be hardcoding the host IP inside the SWF, so if the SWF is looking for 123.123.123.123, only a host with that IP would allow the SWF to run further. The issue is that AS3 alone can't discover the host IP or could it if it's trying to load a resource file? Can you secure your swf so it checks if it is running on a recognized environment?

I use a free web host for a site but they don't allow uploading of mp3 files (they filter and block them)
I want to offer visitors a choice of background music that would have to be streamed or loadMovied'ed as mp3 files, here lies the problem.
I thought a work-a-round would be to have a small empty movie off stage that contained the swf music file but I then thought that someone might have a more elegant solution.
When you use loadMovie to download a swf file into a parent movieclip, what's the best way of initially filling the parent movie BEFORE anything is downloaded, assume you use attatchMovie - is this correct ?
I am trying to use the localhost server on my macbook for website development (instead of doing testing by ftp). I downloaded the files from my webserver to the Site folder on my macbook. The Apache is running. My site is flash and make use of the SWFAddress class. The AC_RunActiveContent.js file is in the same folder as the index.html file. When I try to open the page [URL] in firefox, the title and favicon loaded properly, but the embedded flash could not be displayed. However, the same set of files works alright on the remote web server.
I thought it might be problem with the directory and I have tried ./swf/home.swf, swf/home.swf, /swf/home.swf in the index.html file but none work. I already tried changing all the swf/home or ../swf/home.swf or whatever to swf/home.swf but still the flash does not load. I am posting this index.html coz despite all the discrepancies, it works on the remote server.
Would this be problem relating to the SWFAddress class?

I have a preloader function that uses contentLoaderInfo to load swfs ont the stage. It works fine in simulated download in the Flash Player. When I run it on my host the swf file finishes downloading before the preloader appears to run. I use the word appears because I only sometimes spot a glimpse of a graphic that indicates the loading process.
Are there known discerpancies between host and Flash Player realities?
Are there any subtlties with using with contentLoaderInfo?
