I need restrict numbers of computers, where can be used one ID (as to reader can't give his ID to unauthorized readers. Jul 25, 2007I am making a budgeting program, partly because I need one, and I want to learn more about flash. My main question is this - because I will need to track data over many months, how do I make sure it is saved by flash? Do I have to host it as a website so it is 'always running'? I would hate to think what would happen if the host were to go down, I would lose everything.
Its seems like there would be a way to export the data (via a save button) to xml or some other format after I have finished my session.

Apr 8, 2011I want to distribute an SWF file to be run on computers, not the internet.However, I want to be able to access the internet through a link controlled by a button.This used to work, now I get a security warning telling me I need to change the settings on my computer.For obvious reasons I don't want to make every person who runs the swf file to have to do that!Under Windows I can create an EXE file that does not create the security warning, but on the Mac that won't help.

Aug 16, 2011When the 30 day trial begins the current date is stored in the local encrypted database. Then the date is checked against the current date if the difference is 30 days or more the application denies access and the users is prompted to purchase a license.
It seemed I had have everything working fine but I just ran into a problem.
I changed the date on my machine which made my Air app think this was the current date, allowing the 30 day trail to still be active.
I'm wondering what the workaround might be to fix this? Is it possible for Air to get the current date not based on the computers set date?

when i run it in flex environment ( eclipse ) it runs fine , when i run it from my programs ( as an air program ) it gets stuck , what i was thinking is that it has to do with security issues because it gets stuck when my main swf try to loads the moduls .

Feb 18, 2010We're interested in putting one of our flash applications on the server back-end so that it can run as a module on the server machine (not on the client!). I know flash wasnt designed for this at all, so my question is:
1) Can I run Flash from the command prompt and pass parameters to it?
2) Can I detect when the Flash has finished running, or a way to communicate with the command prompt from Flash (to inform it once the operations has finished).
3) Can I close the flash application from the command prompt?
Flex :: Security - Running Application/swf In Local Mode?
Oct 12, 2010We are using flex for same. (Although I know flex is meant for web application and air application is best suited for desktop clients, but due to some build issues we can't go for air applications). Now according to our use case we required to read file from local file system which is not allowed in flex application due to sandbox policy. To override it we had planned to use it in local mode (i.e. running from local file system instead of deploying in web container). So after running application in local mode it bypasses sandbox policy and allows to read local file. Eventually we requires remote services call (either using web services or blaze ds) also in our application. To avoid sandbox restriction for network access in local mode we are planning to explicitly grant network access permission to our flex application.

So I tried to debug it it with Flash Builder, but when I run it there, everything works just fine. So I uninstalled the AIR runtime completely but noticed that I can execute my AIR app within Flash Builder still just fine. So the AIR runtime used within Flash Builder seems to be a different one than the systemwide installed AIR runtime. How Do I chose within Flash Builder which runtime to use and how do I update this runtime?

Unfortunately, the KeyboardEvent is not caught when running the app under IE since it is conflicting with the IE native shortcut (closing the active tab). May 9, 2011i'm trying to connect my flash application to my nodejs server running socket.io. To connect via web-browser is no problem. Now the problem, when the socket-server isn't running i get an IOError in Flash what seams alright. Now when i start the server and try to connect again, i don't get an error, but the socket-server doesn't receive a connection either?!

Jan 13, 2009Is it possible to build an application in flash that can then be exported as say an exe and then be used in the background while another application is running? I know that sounds complicated so let me further explain. I currently dj with an application and would like to create another application with flash that allows users to play some custom sounds (drops) while running the primary dj application. I believe someone out there already has created an application via flash that does this (have to read up on it more). But from the research I did do there is no way to interface with the flash application unless you alt-tab to it. Is there someone way to build a flash application that can be assigned windows shortcuts (say f1 funuctionality) while another windows application is running?

Jan 14, 2010I'm an application developer, and my standard usage of Flash is as follows: I'm creating an executable application, which contains a ShockwaveFlash object instance, which in turn is displaying a Flash Movie Clip - also created by myself. The executable application and the contained Flash clip are communicating via the ActionScript ExternalInterface (using XML strings) and the FSCommand.
I'd like to be able to debug the ActionScript code of the Flash file while I'm running/debugging my executable application. For that, I need to be able to start a remote debugging session from the Flash object running inside my executable. Problem is, I did not find any way of doing this.
When I publish the Flash SWF file with "permit debugging" checked, I'm able to start a remote debugging session when I'm displaying the file in a player or a browser (the "debugging" option is shown at the right-click menu of the Flash object), but I'm not able to do the same with the object inside my executable (the "debugging" option doesn't exist on the menu).
Environment Details: The executable application is using the ShockwaveFlash COM file to create the ShockwaveFlash object. The executable application is created using VB.NET, Visual Studio 2008, .NET 3.5. The Flash SWF file is created using Adobe Flash Professional CS4. I'm developing under Windows XP (SP3).

Additionally - if somehow, the answer was yes, is it possible to react for change of active window / application react just as if it was Event, or bind to it custom event (e.g. Event.SystemActiveAppChange)?
EDIT: Due to probable missunderstanding, I mean local applications - on your win/mac/linux machine - I would like to (in process of learning of language) track what apps I use the most, make a little graph maybe?
So, the point is: in AIR app, developed in FLEX, I would like to get/list all running applications/processes, as well as which one is active (on user's PC/Mac/Linux)

I'm pretty good when it comes to PHP, MySQL or HTML but I'm totally lost in AS.I have a project in Flash Builder 4 that I'm trying to add something to that was built in Flash Professional. It's supposed to loas a couple of external AS files, then execute functions from them at a certain point in the application. I know where I want the functions to execute in the application, and I have linked the AS files to "test.as" which is the main AS file for "testapp.mxml". The problem is calling the "Detector" function from inside "FaceDetector.as" which is one of the external AS files. What is the best way to do the following.[code]I want to start the script and let it do what it's supposed to do inside the application at that given time.
