Recently I have developed a flex web application and now I wanted to put on internet. I know that there are quite a lot free web hosting company but I am bit confused as in how I have to start. Application which i built used PHP and MySQL database. Currently I am runnning it on WAMP server.
View 3 RepliesI have a flex application that when i update on the server i can see the changes in both firefox and and chrome but I.E continues to show the application before the change... Its as if I.E had the application Cashed somewhere. I dont understand where it could be holding it. I have tried clearing my cookies and i still get the same view before my changes. Has anyone else had this problem before with Internet Explorer?

However, I created a mobile application and the only option to run it is 'Run as mobile application'. Is it really possible to run the same Flex application in browser and on mobile?

It's a monitoring application, so requests are made regularly to the server. The browser has stored a large amount of temporary internet files on the client pc even getting it saturated. I'm looking at a tutorial to display placemarks using a KML file on a flex application. I'm using IGN API (openscales) in flex project. The example works perfectly (http:/[url].......

Placemarks don't show up on the map. I tried to host the kml file on different hosts but that doesn't change.
When it in PHP, we already know using $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] we can a host IP, what if it in AS3?
View 1 RepliesFor some reason I cannot catch the Ctrl + Z keyDown event in my Flex application when it runs in IE. It works fine in FF/Chrome/Safari.
I have a simple Group control where I listen for keyDown and try implement my own Undo logic. I need to catch Ctrl + Z because any other key combination would feel unnatural to most users.
I have a textfield in flex with a focusOut event on it. I can type in the box and in Firefox and Chrome when I click elsewhere on the page (outside the flash element) the focusOut event will be triggered. However in IE8, the texfield never loses focus when you click elsewhere on the page, outside the flash object. I've tried with focusManager.browserMode set to true and false with no difference (I believe that effects incoming focus anyway).

How do I get the host name?
I am making a budgeting program, partly because I need one, and I want to learn more about flash. My main question is this - because I will need to track data over many months, how do I make sure it is saved by flash? Do I have to host it as a website so it is 'always running'? I would hate to think what would happen if the host were to go down, I would lose everything.
Its seems like there would be a way to export the data (via a save button) to xml or some other format after I have finished my session.

I am trying to access html files protected by basic authentication. Below is the code to do that but I still get the authentication dialog. I checked the fiddler and found that for the first request authorization header is present but for the subsequent requests which is requested to load the .js, css & images the authorization header is not added. This is the reason I am getting the auth dialog.
Is there a way to add authorization header to the subsequent requests as well?

I am creating an AIR application using Flex. In it I use a file in application directory to store some data in it.Its working very well to read and write data to this file with various OS except windows 7. In windows 7 it is not working. May be its a permission problem.

I am working on an Adobe AIR (2.0) application that contains a feature to allow users to print documents (such as salary slips). Those documents are originally in PDF format. Due to circumstances we cannot directly display those PDFs in the AIR application (for example using flash.html.HTMLLoader). Unfortunatly I still have to make the decision on which RIA technology to use and its dependent on, among other things, from the following case: How can we wrap a java applet around a Flex application? More specifically, I would like to wrap/integrate NASA's World Wind applet in a Flex panel, similar to what Adrew Trice did with the Google Earth API.
An alternative would be id Flex would support direct access to the 3D hardware through OpenGL or DirectX. But I do not think that that is the case yet, not even through AIR.

View 1 RepliesI have a Flex 4.6 web game which displays 2 Lists with virtual layouts with 2 custom item renderers. The renderers consist mainly of BitmapImages displaying user avatars + few Labels.
The Lists are being updated often over TCP socket with gzipped JSON data. I merge that data into 2 ArrayCollections serving as dataProviders for the Lists. This seems to work well, the Lists do not flicker and are updated correctly (I've monitored debug traces a lot to get it right).

I have a quite different problem with resizing. I have a Flexbook component which uses the middle part of screen (center) with a html header menu and footer. The problem: The scaling works perfectly when we run in the local machine ( Flexbuilder). But when we deploy it to the server its like scaling never existed.. The requirement: when user maximizes the window or minimizes it, the Flexbook should be resized to fit the screen.
