Is it possible to create a flash file programmatically using C# or VB.net? I have a bunch of handwritten characters in coordinate form and I want to create a flash file that displays the characters one after the other. It must also play sounds while this is happening. The ultimate goal is the convert a pencast as generated by a Livescribe smartpen to a flash file. This pencast file contains the characters as well as the audio.

I can import it to flash and export it as a .swf file but it does not loop.
Does anyone know of a way to get it to export a file that loops?
What I mean is that several jpg file will be sent to the server and replace the images that embedded in the file and a exe file will be created from the new file.
I know that I can keep the jpg outside the file and just call them dynamically but I just need to use them in that way.

I just started doing AS3 for Flash and I'm trying to create a flash app that has 2 things inside. An InputTextBox which is called txt_userinput and a Button called btn_submit.Bascially, the user just need to type in some word in the InputTextBox and press btn_submit. The data will then be sent to a testing.TXT in my DESKTOP. My .FLA file is in MY DOCUMENTS while the testing.TXT is in my DESKTOP.
Question 1: Question is, how do I make the data from txt_userinput to be sent to the .TXT in my DESKTOP?For example, the user typed "Hello, how are you?" in the InputTextBox. In the .TXT file, I want it to show "Hello, how are you?".
PS: testing.TXT file is already created in the desktop, just waiting for flash to write the data in and keeps on adding more data in the future in the following format.

A good example of what I'm referring to is on vancouver2010.com , most notably on pages other than the homepage. I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to do this automatically with a text generator perhaps, or if I need to manually create each SWF file by hand in Flash if I wanted to do this. View 6 RepliesI'm currently building a create-your-own t-shirt application using AS3. My client needs the resulting design as an Adobe Illustrator file for printing. Is there a way to dynamically create an AI file from your Flash app? The only solution I have been able to come up with is recreating the design in a special version of the app that only the client has access to (the app would automatically load and create what the customer designed). This version of the app uses PrintJob to create a printable version of the design that the client saves to a PDF and then opens in Illustrator. It works, but as you can see, it's a messy process and creates additional steps for the client.

I am developing a ASP.NET web site where users will need to be able to create their own business cards. So, I'm looking for a tool (most likely Flash) that I can easily integrate into a web site and lets users add text and custom images to their cards and then create an image and/or PDF from their work.
is there a plugin that does this?

View 1 RepliesI created a swf file for one my clients using a screen size of 1024px x 768px (4:3 ratio), now my client wants to re-use the video in a bigger screen (TV) that still uses a 4:3 ratio but the screen size is considerably bigger (I do not have the exact size yet). Do I need to recreate the flash file using images that fit the new screen size, or the fact that they both use a 4:3 aspect ratio means that the image quality will not suffer?

Now it would be fairly simple to do that but i want to be able to rotate the plane using the arrow keys. Once the plan is rotated I want the plane to fly in the direction of the rotation.
I could easily keep increasing the planes x value but that will make it fly only to the right I want to be able to make the plane fly freely.

I figure I can load the content of my flash page from a notepad file within the same directory.I would prefer to not make the editor use a FTP program, so I figure the best method is a webpage where the person can log in and type the updated text and have it create a new notepad file and overwrite the old one. I am not sure if this is technically flash or simply a html question, but does anyone know how to go about doing this

Problem: When saving the file, the "Save As Filetype" drop down is empty and end users can accidentally delete the swf file extension in the filename.How can we lock down the extension so it will always have SWF in the extension?
Technique 1? Set "Save As Filetype" to SWF by default.

I'm currently trying to find out how to create external files from a SWF/exe/app file created in Flash. Essentially I'm building a program to create templates for levels in a game. The SWF will be run locally (e.g. not online) and will allow the user to add/remove objects to a level of their design. They then need to be able to save the level template (ideally I need to be able to save as a JSON* file, but I'm sure I could get away with just a simple txt file) somewhere on their computer. These templates will them be imported by the game itself (not written in Flash, hence why I need to save the data as a json or txt file), which will then re-create the levels from the data contained in the save file.
I had assumed this would be something that was really simple to do, but I cannot seem to find any tutorials or information on how to create external files. I can find plenty on reading from existing external files, but nothing about actually writing a new file entirely. I have read a few people complaining that non-local Flash SWFs cannot access the user's hard drive for security reasons, but cannot find any information on local SWFs.
If anyone could tell me even roughly what I'm looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit stuck just now haha *I have downloaded the corelib files which allow me to work with JSON files
I was wondering if it's possible to include an swf within a javascript carousel that currently just contains stagic images. What I'm looking to do is include a flash animation within the carousel. I guess I've got two main questions: Is it possible to cycle through flash files in the same way as an image? How would I get the javascript and flash to interact so the flash file would know when it had been selected?
