ActionScript 1/2 :: Sound Objects No Longer Play External Swf?

I have several flash games and quizzes that I now want to put together as a collection on a CD ROM as a bumper pack to buy. I wasn't sure of the best way to do that but I figured that I can create a flash file with individuals buttons on that when pressed loads that SWF's into the main page and plays which I'll export as a standalone player.
Sound good that's just what I wanted, only problem now is that the sound objects that are in the various games no longer play What do I need to do so that they will play as they do when I play each SWF on their own? (Hopefully without too much re-programming of the original games as there are quite a few)

I have a griddle_mc, bacon_mc, and BaconCooking.wav. I want to play the wav when the bacon is moved onto the griddle. If I move the bacon until it just touches the griddle the wav plays fine, but if I continue to drag the bacon_mc across the griddle the wav becomes loud and distorted, almost like it's playing multiple instances of the wav at the same time.

I have been trying to deal with sound attachment. Attached is the source file that i am dealing with(I deleted the sound files because the size is too big): Simply, i have to click on the objects first before clicking on the play button. Each objects i clicked represents a different sound and will be stored in the array. So i will be clicking the objects in sequence and when i click on the play button, the music will play. Now comes the problem with my coding, I was unable to let my music coming out one by one at the time in sequence.

I could create a program for him in flash which would be able to play sounds corresponding to keys on the keyboard, but split in to 3 groups, and only 1 sound from each group can be playing at a time. I don't know that much about as3, and I told him this but said I would try anyway. The first thing I came up with was this:[code]In there, there's nothing to stop the sounds overlapping or looping like in my other solution, also it's obviously a lot less compact, but I sent it to my friend like that to see if it would at least play instantly. The response I got was that, although the lag was noticeably less, it was still present.

How does flash player handle objects when they are no longer on the visible stage? Is the graphical data still in memory? Does hittestobject/point consider them? Are enterframe and interval events still running?
In AS2 I would hold metaobjects (minimal x,y,width,height data) that would delete/create movieclips as the screen scrolled. Is this still a correct approach in AS3? If not, is there anything I can do to offstage display objects that improves efficiency, assuming around 400 are created initially?

i tried looking here with the keyword 'preloader', to find answers to my problem but I didn't.I'm a freshman AS3 developer....with a portfolio site to launch asap.
I have a movieClip in my library that is exported to AS (external jpg) - it is loaded separately from anything else in my scene (which is disrupting my normal preloader animation). When I simulate the download my preloader doesn't appear in my preview window, and I have no error message either. At first, not sure what the problem was I tried various preloader tutorials online hoping to find a solution.

I have a movieClip in my library that is exported to AS (external jpg) - it is loaded separately from anything else in my scene (which is disrupting my normal preloader animation). When I simulate the download my preloader doesn't appear in my preview window, and I have no error message either. I only realized later on that my preloader didn't work because of my external jpg. How can I make my preloader (code below) load everything altogether? (elements in my scene + external jpg)

The site I'm building has seperate swf's for each page...and I have the external swfs loading into the site. But my problem is that when I am on one of the external swf pages that has been loaded, and it has buttons on it, none of these buttons work. They work when I test the swf by itself, but once my main movie loads the swf into the site, the buttons within the swf no longer work.

Is it possible to take two Sound objects and combine them into one Sound object so that one Sound plays, and then the second plays right after it? I can just play the first Sound and then the next right after it, but it would be much cleaner to combine them before playing the audio.

It's possible to play a sound file through AS, either by loading it from a folder or import it to flash. It's also possible to play a dynamic tone with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat.
But... is it possible to play a sound file with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat in some way? I want to play a sound file without having to deal with any files except the .swf!

I'm testing Live streaming with FMSS. The stream is pushed to FMSS buy Adobe FMLE software. Streaming works fine until I reach 1300-1400 simultaneous connections.No matter what the encoding ratebit is (150kbps or 2000kbps) the stream is no longer play from time to time (5-8 seconds).
The CPU (2xIntel Quad) is loaded less than 20% and memory used is about 2 GB (there is plenty of memory installed 32G). The OS is RedHat 5.3 64bit platform. Network uplink maximum rate is 4Gbps.I disabled the Queue but the problem still persist.

I'm trying to add sound to some buttons. It's just a little metallic 'klink' sound that plays on rollover. I only want the sound to play on the 'Over' state. So I've set up a layer (just for sound) for the button and I add my sound in the 2nd frame (the Over state). Everything is cool. All is good. And the sound plays on rollover. But the sound also plays when I click the button (i.e. it also plays on the "Down" state). Why? The Down state keyframe is completely empty. What's going on here? I've only put the sound in the "Over" keyframe, why does it also play in the "Down" frame (or when I click)?

I want to use a sound loop in my flash movie. The movie has many scenes. And the problem is that when I go to next scene or different scene I hear the sound repeating twice. I mean sound does not stop from first scene and begins from the different scenes.Is there any way to play sound like "stop all sound" option in Flash.

How do you load external library objects from an external swf? I want to have an external swf that only contains library objects that are exported for Actionscript, and load these from the master .swf file dynamically during the master swf execution. (I may have multiple external swf resource files)I want to be able to load the external swf, and then access it's library objects via actionscript in my main swf file.

I'm doing a project that I have to use scenes in, I have a sound object that i want to be able to control in all scenes. I set up global variables for the sound object and a boolean to check if the sounds currently playing like this :

In each scene I have two buttons a stop and a play button, Heres my code for play:

Doesn't seem to work, if I press play in scene one and go to scene 2 and then return to scene one the sound can be played again on top of the already playing sound object.

I have some sounds in movie clips, this is because that is the only way to be able to select SYNC Stream mode (to keep the movie in sync with the narration). Thus I don't want to use Sound Objects because they can get out of sync...
Is there any way to control volume (so I can mute) with out using Sound Objects ?

I have 4 buttons. Each are a movie clip that has 2 frames (the down and over).the rollover has a click sound to it. Is it worth my while to do that with AS? or just put it up in the timeline (the sound)

I am working on controls for an external swf. The external swf loads an external sound file. The structure at the moment is extswf.swf contains mcSound which loads soundfile.mp3. extswf.swf automatically starts playing when invoked. movieController contains the icons for the play/pause buttons. This is assigned CntlClass. CntlClass loads extswf.swf and controls the play and pause buttons.
So far, the play and pause buttons stop and start and stop the movie but not the sound. I know I need to access the sound channel from the external swf and use the sound transform to change the volume. How to access that channel is unknown. The examples I find have imbedded sound files. Also, the examples seem to use the main class for the external swf. My external swf doesn't have a class file, so I have no idea what the main class would be.

In trying to activate the remainder of the pause button, I find that using MovieClip(loader.content).channel.position always returns 0. I've tried numerous other combinations to access the position of the sound for the play function to resume correctly. The visual part of extswf.swf stops and starts exactly as it should.

I have a main application that plays two different sounds, a background music and a SFX. I have added a button that, when pressed, loads another swf called options.swf onto a higher level. This swf contains two volume sliders for each of these sounds so that I can control their volumes. Each volume slider is an instance of a movie clip I have created which contains a sound object called 'activeSound.' On options.swf I have the following code:

My problem however is that when I slide either slider both music and SFX get affected. They are supposed to act independently but they don't. I've had this problem before with sound objects and I don't know a solution to it.

Part of a larger presentation I've made, there is some background music. What happens is an XML file is read to get a file to play. It plays. When it finishes, it reads the XML again to get the new file. It can also stop when a video plays elsewhere in the presentation then I pick it up where it left off and start the process again. Trouble is, the presentation randomly stops. The music stops and the slides in the presentation stop. The music and slides come from a single XML file. There's also a third part of the presentation (a text crawler) that never stops.
This comes from a totally separate XML file. I never get an error, the presentation just stops on a slide and no more music plays, but the crawler keeps crawling. I've removed all the code for the music and it runs perfectly so it's obviously related to how the music is managed. So, finally, my question is how do I manage sound objects? If I need to create new objects for each sound I load and play, I'll need to do manage the sound from a single function, right? Something like:

i have a problem manipulating multiple sound objects in MX. i have a main background loop object and a button rollover object (which plays on specific buttons). i then have a volume slider which will set the volume of only the main bg loop object. but when i tested it, it seems that the volume of the button rollover object is also the same with the main bg loop object's volume. meaning, if my main bg loop's volume is down to 50, the button rollover sound volume is also 50.
