ActionScript 1/2 :: Commas Inside Array/local Vs Server Encoding?

Jun 17, 2009

I have a large flashvars string that I'm splitting into a 2d Array when it's pulled in flash. The problem I'm having is that one of the items of the inner array needs to be able to contain commas. The commas are encoded using php urlencode. I took the entire string printed on the web page and put it in a local var so I could test locally (by that i just mean without having to upload it to the server). So locally everything works fine, but when I upload it and use the real flashvars data, anything containing a comma and anything after that item, comes back as undefined.Here's an example of what part of the string in flashvars looks like. It would represent one item in the outer array.

"15;nameofstore;nameofstore;C32;;nameofstore%2C+Inc.+is+the+nation%27s +largest+
department+store+company+and+strives+to+be+the+department+store+of+cho ice+in+
each+community+it+serves+by+providing+superior+service+and+merchandise +that+

[code].....

ActionScript 2.0 :: Item In An Array With Commas?

Aug 11, 2011

I'm generating an array from a string, then place the item to a text field.It works OK if there is no commas, if an item has commas, then the item is considered as multiple items. How can I have ?For example if the string is like the one below (with | as the delimiter):

C1_3_ans = "item 1|item 2|item 3, with some commas, here"
var errorSelected:Array = C1_3_ans.split("|");

errorSelected would be come [item 1,item 2,item 3, with some commas, here] instead of 3 items, it becomes 5 items.How can I keep the 3rd part of the text as one item?

I have declared an Array as a new Array(); I would like to push objects into that array but have a text field read back the array minus the commas that are pushed by user interaction (from numbered buttons).

For example, if the user pushes button 1 then button 4 then button 8 I would like the array to read in the text field 148 instead of 1,4,8 .

Flash :: Execute An External .exe From A Local .swf Using A Local XML Socket Server (C#)

Jan 7, 2012

I'm developing a game add-on/plugin which replaces a built in feature of an online game. The game loads an .swf therefore, my solution also has to be an swf for it to work 'in-game'.

I would like to be able to have the user press a button in the custom .swf I am making - and this would open an external application (amongst other things). I.e. if there was a button that said Notepad, it would open Notepad.exe on the machine.

My initial thinking was that i could have a XML Socket server 'daemon' runnning (c#) , which i could connect to with flash - however, as both the swf and the daemon are local, flash complained and gave this error: "Error #2010: Local-with-filesystem SWF files are not permitted to use sockets."

The only way i know to fix this - is to change the security settings of flash - not very user friendly!

So! Any thoughts on how I could otherwise go about this? I was thinking a custom http server could do the trick (connected with URLRequest) although i'm not too sure.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Scrolling Multiple Text Fields Via 1 Scroll Bar - Removing Commas From Being Displayed In Array List?

Oct 7, 2009

I have been scripting this flash profile card which pulls data from multiple XML files. The problem i am having is when it comes down to pulling this 1 set of information which is accessing the attributes of an array of specific XML nodes on display after the first item it inputs a comma before each item.

My code:
---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---
xmlData = new XML ();xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;xmlData.load ("../xml profiles/test.xml");
---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----
function loadXML (loaded){if (loaded){  xmlNode = this.firstChild;

[code].....

This is just a draft version of the layout i used to pull up fake data... to show the commas.Lastly i am wondering if it is possible to control the 3 text fields using 1 scroll bar or would i be better off learning how to create columns in 1 text field to display these lists.

Media Server :: How To Secure Live Encoding

Jan 26, 2010

We just found out someone is bouncing a pirated feed off our FMIS 3.5.2 server. after months of not having to look at this thing (and not remembering crap about parts of the setup), I'm trying to discover a few things.

First is, how do we tell FMIS which vhost allows live encoding?   Second, as I look at the logs and logger.xml, I'm trying to tell how to force it to show the ip's of inbound/outbound traffic.  Think I'm doing the right things to the file, but the log for the application/entry point the pirate is using doesn't show what I believe I configured to be the fields that should show up in the log.   Finally, trying to figure out how to force authentication of media encoders talking to the server. I'm scanning the online help docs, etc. trying to remember all this stuff.... but if anyone can say "look at this page in the pdf, and this page in the online" to affect what I need to do to lock this up quick,

Media Server :: H.264 Encoding Not Displayed Properly

Jun 23, 2011

We have a webcam/chat application that is having bad issues with the video display of a live stream. The application is a bit old (Flex 3.2 recompiled to FB 4.5) and uses FMS 4 which gets it`s encoded streams from FMLE 3.2. The problem is that when a stream is sent using H.264, the playback in Flash is quite bad. Visually, it basically looks like Flash does not always display the "in between keyframes information" properly. Big square pixels from the last keyframe appear instead.

Media Server :: Encoding Advice For Dynamic Streaming

Mar 8, 2011

I need to find out how to layout my bitrates and widths in a way that will:make the switching between to levels (video qualities) as smooth as possible.support a wide range of bw (bandwidth). User with large bw should be fed with a high quality vid and users with low bw should be fed with a low quality vid.support both player widths: 416x240px and 640x340px without doing two different bitrate/with layouts. I have tested the following bitrate/width layot:Q5-Q8 is ment for fullscreen view, Q1-Q2 is ment for our small player and Q3-Q4 is ment for our large player.It works but I'm far from sure that it is the optimal layout. For instance, is it a problem that to videos with different widths have the same bitrate settings or bitrates that lay close to one another?As far as i know, the player (JW Player) will not choose a video that is more than 20% wider than the players width.

Media Server :: H264 Live Encoding In Flash Player 11 Slowly?

Oct 21, 2011

I am using the new Flash Player 11 ability to encode H264 video within the Flash Player. I am streaming the webcam via RTMP to a FMS. I am using the following settings:H.264 BaselineLevel 5.1Keyframe freq. 5 seconds25 FPSInput size: 1280 x 720 (720p)Output size: 1280 x 720 (720p)Bit Rate: 1000KbpsWhen I am using these settings with FMLE 3.2, the final stream plays very fluent with a good amount of FPS. If I am using Flash Player 11 for the encoding job instead, the final video is not as fluent as before and achieves less FPS (maybe 5 FPS).So the question is: is Flash Player 11 not as good as FMLE 3.2 or am I missing some configuration?

Media Server :: Live Encoding H264 To FMS Via Ffmpeg Command-line Or Java Code?

Feb 3, 2010

We just shipped Xuggler 3.4 this weekend which now has the ability to record and publish RTMP streams.  That means you can now write Xuggler (a Java API for encoding and decoding video) programs that can publish to FMS or record from FMS.

We've worked closely with the FFmpeg team to get the core RTMP stack into that project, and have put together a tutorial on how to use FFmpeg to record or publish streams, including re-encoding media to H264/AAC while publishing.

Mp3 Player Works On Local But Not On Server?

Jul 7, 2009

I have a mp3 player that i purchased from a site. It works fine on my local drive but when uploaded to a server (and I've tried both Linux & Windows) doesn't work. It loads in setting & the mp3 file names from an XML file. I was able to verify that the XML data is in fact loading. The hitch seems to come when trying to create and load the XML data into an XML object.I added text field & changed the value of the text property at different points of the script to narrow down where the script gets stuck. The exact line of code that doesn't run from the server is:

Code:

var xml:XML = new XML(e.target.data);

I tried adding a crossdomain.xml file that allowed all domains but that didn't seem to help. Below is the code that loads the XML file & calls a function when loaded with the offending line of code.And my test site is here: SWF

Code:

public function MusicPlayer() {
//Security to load music
Security.allowDomain("*");[code]..............
