ActionScript 1/2 :: Get Back Into Initial Frame After Sending User GotoAndPlay Action?

I have multiple frames with stop-points and labels on my timeline and an action where if the user holds down the button for >1 sec it will go to one frame, if <1 sec it will "gotoAndPlay" a warning animation. after that animation plays i want them to be sent back to the initial frame that they were previously in.

I have a slideshow that is looped ... it contains 5 slides.I am using a gotoandPlay action to control the slide show.

There is a fade transition between slides.When a button is released ... I want to gotoandPlay (frame 98) ... and then have it stop 10 frames later on (frame 108). Frame 98 includes the transition ... if I just gotoandStop on frame 108 ... I loose the transition.Is there any way to incorporate a stop action, after a gotoandPlay action on my button ... without naming instances etc.I.E.
on (release) {
this._parent.gotoAndPlay("98");
STOP ON FRAME 108 INTEGRATED HERE
}

I have a layer called "home_movie" and on that later on the end frame is a movie clip that plays, what i want to happen at the end of the animation is it to send the user back to the frame above they started at. which is layer: home_movie, frame id: main_movieopt but its not working.

I have a project in Flash Mx 2004. On the first frame there is a menu with 4 menu items. When the user clicks an item, they are taken to another frame with some text and an exit button that takes them back to the menu. The forward button will not become active until all of the menu items have been viewed. There is no particular order for the items to be viewed, just that they all be viewed before the forward arrow is active and the user can continue. I tried puttin an action on the exit button to disable the related menu item, however, the item just resets back to enabled each time a user re-enters the frame.

i've a little problem with my buttons wich are movieclips if you rol over and out to fast they stay "on" (they do not come back to initial position) i've used actions: rolover >goto and play frame 2there is a stop on frame 1 and 5rolout > goto and play frame 6 (so it plays to frame 9 and come back and stop on frame 1 :initial position)

We have a sort of game, generated with Flash in AS3, on our website where the reader is invited to eliminate the California Budget Deficit. It's connected to a database where we keep track of the responses and print them in chart form and post the results on the website so everyone can see the most popular budget items the readers want to cut.

We've had many, many requests to have an option where the reader can get a copy of his/her choices that he/she can print out. I've thought about having a movieclip pop up that shows those choices (and that would be simple enough), but in addition to that, what I'd really like to do is have a way to download those choices to the reader's computer as a text file or maybe have a "Print" button on the movieclip showing the choices that would print just that movieclip. The database we have wouldn't really be suitable because it's set up to simply show which were chosen and which not, and the names of the submissions and choices are variables that don't really mean anything except to us when we put it all in an excel file.

I've got a movie clip and at the final frame of the clip, I have an action to make it go back but to a frame label and I've tried a number of different versions of the GotoAndPlay action and none work. They're all being ignored and I don't get it. Here's what I've tried:

I have an main.swf that loads home.swf on the stage. In home there are mc's that when clicked take you to different frames inside home.swf I need to have a gotoAndPlay eventlistener off a button which would take the user back to frame one of home.the home .swf has 6 frames with different clips in each frame on one layer, text for the back to first frame on another layer, an invisible btn and an actions on two separate layers
first question :
the individual frames are 7-8-9 the gotoAndPlay action is on frame 7 ONLY the button only works when in frame 7 if 8-9 are not individual blanks why doesn't the button work when in frames 8 and 9?In other words can't I use an action that triggers a function assigned to a button that spans across more than one frame?if the button spans across 7 - 8 - 9 and the action frame is on 7 how can I get this to work?

i am relatively new to AS3. I want to know how to gotoAndPlay back to scene1/parent to play frame there. I did they type casting but keep getting error Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::Stage@2e793089 to flash.display.MovieClip. at test2_fla::backgroundC_13/fl_ClickToGoToAndPlayFromFrame() Try this, create an empty AS3, create 2 layers, action and page. Create a button in page layer at frame1 and add title "home". Then press F6 at frame 5. Next, while on frame 5, select the button and convert it to movieclip, name it "background". Instance name "background" too.
Double click the background at the library, change the "home" to "Page2" Then at action, at frame 5, insert blank keyframe, and f9. In the action menu, type : stage.addChildAt(background,0). Next, go to frame 10 in action, insert a blank keyframe and add action: stop(); In your library, double click the movie clip again and select the button and add an event listener to go back to frame 1 of parent. This is where im stuck.

well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.

I've created a dynamic text field (named text_txt) on stage - gave it a value of "123";There is 1 keyframe (frame 1) followed by 9 frames.I've added a tiny piece of actionScript:
text_txt.text = "99";
Running it - all works great - I see 99 in that text field.If I add another keyframe (lets say on frame 5) - the text inside text_txt changes back to 123...Instance name there is still text_txt...

I have a Flash website with 3 interfaces( 3 frames with movie clips inside). they have a button that goes to different loaded .html page(text). But once the back button is pushed on the web browser, it always goes back to the first frame instead of the actual last page, which might have been frame 2 or 3.

The gotoAndPlay option isn't kicking in here. The object "sam_MC" proceeds along the specified root. But when the if statement containing gotoAndPlay becomes true, sam_MC simply stops moving and no other action is taken. When sam_MC's x coordinate becomes less or greater than a specified amount, I want the flash movie to restart. My code is located on the first frame of a layer I have named "actions." Here it is.

I have a Flash animation that loads a quick animation and then on a button click loads and external swf while at the same time moves the playhead on the timeline to frame 2 so that it has a blank stage to play on. The external swf then loads and plays. At the end of the external swf's animation I would like it to unload and then return to frame one of the containing movie. I am assuming that on the last frame of the external swf I should be putting some actionscript that will unload the movie and then talk to the initial containing flash telling it to return to frame 1.
The main swf button that loads the external swf is using a code snippet from the AS3 CS5 library and looks like this...

It is also using gotoAndStop(2); for the same button.
So to unload the external swf and return would I use something like... this.unload(gotoAndStop(1));

I've got an MC calle "films" and inside of it I'm animation a bar of images across the screen from frame 1 - frame 180. At frame 180 and need it go back to frame 90 and play.I named fram 90 "repeat" and added the following code to frame 180:

this.gotoAndPlay("repeat");
But it doesn't goto 90 and play it goes back to 1 and plays.

I am making a thing on my flash animation with a 3d planet spinning. When you move your mouse over it the planet will stop and contact info comes up, and when you rollOut the planet continues spinning and the contact info fades away. I have everything working but i cant get the planet to stop spinning when i do this because the button controls the fade but the planet is just spinning in the backround, hard to explan. Anyways i need to be able to send a stop and play action to the planet movie clip behind the button to stop. i need to send an action from Scene 1>universal>destinationclip>world. from a keyframe on the destination clip.

I succeeded in sending typed objects from a PHP application to a flex front-end using Zend_AMF as per this question. The problem I am facing now is that I would like to send a typed object from flex to PHP and on the PHP side, be able to receive it as a typed object instead of stdClass.
Here is the class in flex:

After some testing, I removed the namespace from the PHP object and moved it into the global namespace. This seems to have resolved the issue. I have tried setting RemoteClass to modules estingCTest and also modules.testing.CTest. $_eplicitType was then set to the same value for both tests. The result is that when I use modules.testing.CTest, this is the classname that Zend_AMF sees. If I use namespace notation, Zend_AMF sees modulestestingCTest, as all the slashes get stripped out. But how can I get this working with php namespaces?

I've got a problem with the LocalConnection. I've got 2 swf's and I call one to get a value which then sends it back to the first. It's working, but it seems like the 2nd swf, which is called remote.swf, is sending the value back to the player.swf twice. I've pasted the codes form each swf below. The first is the player.swf which is asking for the value, and the second is from remote.swf which is generating the code:

Basically I have a little app where a pop up palette contains dragable movie clips that then are placed on the main stage. However when the palette pops up for a second time it remains behind the placed movie clips. The clips have to be on top of the palette initially, but something like on release swapDepths?

I've created a rectangular box with actionscript (code follows) and I need to make sure this stays in the background - so all other movieclips and symbols are visible when they are positioned over the top of it. I guess it's using the swapDepths function although not sure?

basically im making an image gallery this is what ive done so far imported all of my images that i wanted to use and converted them to movie clips ive put these movie clips in another movie clip which is masked with an instance name of master_mcthe images are placed on top of each other so it looks like a stack of photos what i want to do is when the user clicks the image on the top it should send it to the back of the stack of images and continue to do this for all photos
