Forgetting about my last post: This code currently makes it so each picture will fade from white. What I'm trying to do is make the slideshow so that each picture transitions into each other, instead of from white.

I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I tried something like that, but it didn't work:

How to do a simple slide shows that plays automatically and has transitions in between pictures, can some one direct me in the right direction. So far I have 1 picture that does a transition and it has this action code inside the same frame where the picture is placed at. The pictures were converted into movie clip symbols.

I only have 1 layer. It works fine, but when I try to put two pictures and test the movie, it does not play automatically, why is this?

Previously I've done all the monkeywork by hand on the timeline, but now I need to make an automated slideshow for an image portfolio that collects pictures from an external folder (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, etc...) so I can just upload variants of the image without having to change the flash file each time.
I'm also hoping to include fading transitions and an easy way to change the amount of time each image is on screen.

I found a tutorial online to do a Image Slideshow. [URL]. But, I can not get anything to work. I am new to this and unfortunately do not have time to do any formal training right now. Probably when this project is done. When I "test movie" I just get a white screen w/ nothing on it. I should be getting a box 500x500 w/ a box that is 400x400 for my frame. I just finished step 3, and I do not get my frame box like a should.
Here is what my .xml document says:

I have a slideshow that is set up to run on an LCD screen. The problem is the slideshow turns to a white screen when left running overnight. I would like the slideshow to continuously play without having to do a browser refresh each day. I am thinking there is some build up of memory that is causing the problem. I have a loop to continually check my xml file to see if anything has been updated.

I'm trying to create a simple yet effective image slideshow for my homepage. It'll be a bar, 600 pixels wide, by 300 pixels high. There will be 4 buttons that will line the bottom, numbered 1 through 4, that will control 4 separate slides that'll appear in that window. If you don't click anything, the images will fade in and out after x amount of seconds. Clicking on the numbered buttons will load the appropriate slide, and each slide when clicked will take you to a certain part of the website.
I wish to do this in actionscript... not using the timeline as I prefer to do all transitions in actionscript. Can anyone shed light on how to set this up? I've been trying to use the TransitionManager function... however I'm getting mixed results. Here's a screenshot:

I uploaded several intro slide shows onto a black background. They work fine, but take awhile to load (once viewed and go back-they load much quicker). While waiting to load, the stage area is white.
However when I created them, I did make sure the stage area was black.
what I might do to correct this? I just think it would look much better if everything was black until the show appears. The shows were created in Flash CS 4 (ActionScript 3.0), & the site was created in Dreamweaver CS 4.

I'm making a picture-slideshow with xml and Flash AS2. The thing is, i really want a play and pause button in it, and iv tried to do that with setInterval.[code]Now, the weird thing is, the trace does work, and gives me the good output: 10, 11, 12, 13 etc. etc. but the external images dont go further... (i do have the first image, but it doesnt go to the next images)When i remove the var Interval, so that it doesnt repeat, it does work I also attached the .fla file.

I made a simple picture slideshow with a timer, prev/next buttons, pause/play buttons and jump buttons. Everything went good so far.Now i'm trying make every picture go to a URL when the picture is clicked but only the link on the first frame goes to the URL when clicked the other 5 buttons do nothing when click.(FYI: I made alpha 0% buttons in a layer above pictures)I tried two different codes but both have no effect.

I'm a flash newbie and have created a slideshow so that all the photos fade in and fade out. I've done it so they kind of fade into each other. So the timelines on each layer overlap. I want this slideshow running as a continuous loop so I've put a gotoandPlay(1) function at the end of the movie. My problem is the final image (number7) fades out but I don't know how to get it fading into the first photo again. So after the 7th image (the 2 bridesmaids) the movie completely fades out and then starts again. Is there a way I could make the first and last photos fade into each other rather than the last one fading out and starting again. I've migrated from AS1 to AS3, and boy, a lot has changed... Anyhow, to learn and understand AS3, I'm modifying a slideshow I found through thetechlabs. I want it to play SWF as well as JPG. These files are passed through an XML file. I added an element called <delaytime> to the XML file that replaces the standard time a photo is shown in the slideshow.
I modified the onSlideFadeIn() function as follows:

this fullscreen slideshow with random pictures which will be the background of a client's web-site. I have everything working, the preloader, the imaging loading and transitions.There's one thing however that's happening and I don't know how to fix it. What's happening - naturally - is that the previous image is still there, in the background, and I would like that to be removed, I would like to have the previous loader, or just the holder movieclip to get off stage, but I really don't know how to add that to my code.What I was thinking was something in the lines of a for loop. Something like creating the picture's holder inside that for loop so each will be like, picHolder1, picHolder2, picHolder3...and so on. I've made my slideshow and 'next' and 'previous' buttons to navigate through them. But as I have 89 images I want to be able to jump to a specific number. I.e. In a box I type '50' and that will jump to image number 50 and saves me having to click 50 times.I haven't seen this be done on any tutorials and not sure on how to go about it. The images are in a seperate folder and an XML files is used to call them in. So is it just a question of assigning a value to each entry and calling that when the relevant number has been clicked?

I am wondering if anybody can tell me how to create a picture PUSH. I have three images that I wish to work with. By pushing I mean having an image come in from the left (or right) and place itself on top of the other (or pushing the other out of view). Like a slide show of three images scrolling along but one stops for a brief period before the other image comes into view.

In "flash website templates" we see some amazing transition effects between the pages, I wonder how they do it? Are they made of flash? or those effects are created in some other application like "after-Effect"? or are there any special tween engine to make effects?I have been searching for a while...but still confused and looking for guidance.

I am trying to make transitions between loaded swfs. Below is my code. I know I need to add to one of the functions to make it play the "out" transition before the new swf is loaded. Each swf has a timeline with a stop frame and a frame labeled "out". The below script allows me to press buttons and load the coresponding swf to the stage.

does anybody know a easy way to make image transitions in Flash CS4? without using the timeline and without to much programming. Why invet the wheel again if somebody already has the answer? This is what i want to do:Put images/photos in a folder or import to the Flash libary and then let flash view the pictures with a pre-setted transition. The transitions could be: fade in/ fade out, blur in/blur out, pixel in/pixel out, zoom in/zoom out and so on (with a nice look) I want to select the pictures to be used and then select a transition for each image.
For an example if i wanna do a image header lets say 900x400px and then vĂew my images in the folder with the selected transitĂon. I tried to use the slide presentation feature but the transition looked like PowerPoint, boring and not so smooth. Somebody has a simple and free solution? I know this is not to hard for a experienced Flash user, but im a beginner =).
