I'm making an xml slideshow width 2 navigation arrows. I have loaded either the xml and the images. The problem is this: in the first frame i have a movieclip called "foto1" in which i load the first photo and underneath this i have another movieclip called "foto3". I load the two photos and i fade "foto1" to "foto3". after i'm going to the second frame in wich i have "foto3" and underneath this "foto1". I've loaded "foto3" but when the movie go to the second frame "foto3" contains nothing.

When i click the left or right button multiple times how do i get the picture menu to keep moving and not just for the first time i click on the arrows.. Is there some action script that i can include??
View 3 RepliesI've made several flash buttons for use in my navigation bars. They work great but the "back" arrows on the browser are always grayed out. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of browser I use. The site was made in Dreamweaver and the Flash buttons are imbedded within the pages. I posted the same question on the Dreamweaver forum and got some vague answers.
Is there some code I can put into my Flash buttons?

I'm making a picture-slideshow with xml and Flash AS2. The thing is, i really want a play and pause button in it, and iv tried to do that with setInterval.[code]Now, the weird thing is, the trace does work, and gives me the good output: 10, 11, 12, 13 etc. etc. but the external images dont go further... (i do have the first image, but it doesnt go to the next images)When i remove the var Interval, so that it doesnt repeat, it does work I also attached the .fla file.
View 7 RepliesI'm a flash newbie and have created a slideshow so that all the photos fade in and fade out. I've done it so they kind of fade into each other. So the timelines on each layer overlap. I want this slideshow running as a continuous loop so I've put a gotoandPlay(1) function at the end of the movie. My problem is the final image (number7) fades out but I don't know how to get it fading into the first photo again. So after the 7th image (the 2 bridesmaids) the movie completely fades out and then starts again. Is there a way I could make the first and last photos fade into each other rather than the last one fading out and starting again. The movie can be viewed here- sorry it takes a little time to get to the last image! [URL].
View 1 RepliesI've migrated from AS1 to AS3, and boy, a lot has changed... Anyhow, to learn and understand AS3, I'm modifying a slideshow I found through thetechlabs. I want it to play SWF as well as JPG. These files are passed through an XML file. I added an element called <delaytime> to the XML file that replaces the standard time a photo is shown in the slideshow.
I modified the onSlideFadeIn() function as follows:

It stops at the first picture of my slideshow. When I push the 'next' button it displays the next pic, but I get the same error message again.When I comment out this line:
slideTimer = new Timer(xmlSlideshow..file[intCurrentSlide].@time);
the slideshow runs OK, but without the delaytime specified in the XML file.

this fullscreen slideshow with random pictures which will be the background of a client's web-site. I have everything working, the preloader, the imaging loading and transitions.There's one thing however that's happening and I don't know how to fix it. What's happening - naturally - is that the previous image is still there, in the background, and I would like that to be removed, I would like to have the previous loader, or just the holder movieclip to get off stage, but I really don't know how to add that to my code.What I was thinking was something in the lines of a for loop. Something like creating the picture's holder inside that for loop so each will be like, picHolder1, picHolder2, picHolder3...and so on. And with that, on completion of the preloader I would remove something like "picHolder -

I've made my slideshow and 'next' and 'previous' buttons to navigate through them. But as I have 89 images I want to be able to jump to a specific number. I.e. In a box I type '50' and that will jump to image number 50 and saves me having to click 50 times.I haven't seen this be done on any tutorials and not sure on how to go about it. The images are in a seperate folder and an XML files is used to call them in. So is it just a question of assigning a value to each entry and calling that when the relevant number has been clicked?

I am wondering if anybody can tell me how to create a picture PUSH. I have three images that I wish to work with. By pushing I mean having an image come in from the left (or right) and place itself on top of the other (or pushing the other out of view). Like a slide show of three images scrolling along but one stops for a brief period before the other image comes into view.

I need to build a flash application In which I load a jpg, make a selection of it (a mask or something like crop tool) and save it back. Loading the picture and making the mask are not a problem. saving the edited picture back.
View 6 RepliesMy application is almost set, load the image, made the crop, save It to a server with a php and all good until here. Now I want to drag the image, make a scale of it and for that I used an Matrix (also done).
My problem is if I scale it less then initial value, my crop is not good. Can you please take a look at my code here, because its drives me crazy and I cant figure it out.
I am doing a slideshow in Flash. With AS 2, I would create frame labels for each slide with a stop action on each one in the timeline and a button underneath the background with the following script:

My issue is the first time everything works perfectly, if you hit next or previous. It goes to the correct frame. On the last frame if you click next it should take you back to "frame 1" and basically loop through all the frames again if you keep pressing next. The problem is it goes back to frame 1, and then next doesn't work on this frame. I don't understand what's going on considering the first time around - these frames work perfectly.Here's the code on frame 1:

I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I recently used the loadMovie action to load a .swf file to a target in the movie which it was being called from. Then I tried calling a picture to another target in the movie, but it did not load the picture as intended. I read about it on my book, but it didn't seem to work. Is there anyways on calling a picture into a target in the movie without placing the picture inside an swf file?

When i click the the green button i want the green image to fade in.. i fugured out a way to do this on the timeline, but then i have to have a black box first fading in to remove the old picture and then start fading in the new picture..

Everything went good so far.Now i'm trying make every picture go to a URL when the picture is clicked but only the link on the first frame goes to the URL when clicked the other 5 buttons do nothing when click.(FYI: I made alpha 0% buttons in a layer above pictures)I tried two different codes but both have no effect.

I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.
i have a question about text in a slideshow. i know how to make a basic photo slideshow with external images. but now what i want to do is add 4-5 paragraphs of text next to each photo (with possible scrolling). the text will be different on each photo.
