Jul 7, 2009I am running my swf file through a browser on the local machine (i.e. C Drive). I want to have a link to download the Adobe Reader however when I click on the link that is setup with navigateToURL(), I get a Flash Player Security Error stating that it is unsafe to acess the Internet and to update the player options allowing it to happen. I have went to the player options and put the URL's in there that I am trying to get to with no success.

Is it possible for someone to basically trigger one of my php documents that inserts variables to the Database through an swf ran outside my server? I know for example flash has a security feature built in to prevent flash from loading xml files from server to server. If anyone knows more about flash security issues and tips let me know

Aug 4, 2010Our video player is embeddable on Facebook if you share its URL, and all works fine except for one issue: as with most other social networks, script access is set to 'never' (on Facebook Wall posts, at least, which is where this appears), so you lose the ability to go fullscreen or make ExternalInterface calls.Currently, I'm using an ExternalInterface.call call to attempt to get the current URL, which is wrapped in try/catch statement incase it fails (as it does in this case on Facebook).Is there any other way I might be able to get the URL, absent script access? We're tracking our embeds, and it's a bummer to see all of these tracked instances on pages without script access show up as "UNKOWN", which is the value I give to the URL that is tracked when it can't determine the real value.

Jan 26, 2009i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

Oct 22, 2010I need my swf to be able to see the domain of the page that it's loaded on. Normally to to this I would just look at window.location over ExternalInterface, but in this particular case the swf is going to be embedded with allowscriptaccess="never", so that's not going to work. Is there an actual api that will give me that or do I have to resort to ugly hacks?

Sep 22, 2009When i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page.
