I have a bit of a problem with sound.. I have a main container animation with background sound that's loaded with soundChannel..I also have an externally loaded SWFs with Movie Clip buttons that have a sound ON ROLLOVER on the timeline..after rolling off - I place the:SoundMixer.stopAll();to stop the button from playing the sound once the mouse is rolled off.. However, the problem I'm running into is that it also stops the sound of the main container movie cli

View 3 RepliesI'm triying to stop a sound of a button, while you hear a background music. The music is assigned in the timeline for the animation. When the animation stop at a specific frame (activity), the button are showed. At this point is all ok.
I don't understand... I am very specific to wich sound must stop. Is there a bug?
In AS 3.0 is more easy when you use the SoundChannel, but in AS 2.0 ?

I have applied sound to my website in flash. I have different pages designed in different scenes. And sound control is present on each and every scene. I browsed through the net and found a tutorial which showed how to play background sound and keep it continuos throughout the navigation via different scenes. Inicially i had a problem where the sound restarted when i went to a new scene but now that problem is solved . My current problem is, when my site loads the music starts to play which is fine. Then when i press on the sound button to stop it . The action is to Start Sound and when i press it again It stops. But When i stop it and go to any other button and navigate to some other scene , the sound restarts.The sound sequence needs to be Stop on the first click and Play on the second.But i also want the sound to autostart when site loads. And i because i have different scenes i have applies a complicated action scrip from a tutorial.which goes as follows:-On the first frame of sound layer i have this action script --->

I need to learn how feasible it is to automatically assemble Flash animations which take a background image, an animation (or a set of vector drawings that can be turned into an animation) and a sound file from a set of files. In other words, assume that I have the following set of files:
3 background images (let's assume JPG)
3 animations (no sound, no static background)
100 sound files (let's assume MP3)
So if I want to code something like:
for i 1 to 3
for k 1 to 3
take animation i
take background image k
for j 1 to 100
take sound_file j
resulting_swf = assemble (animation[i], background[i], sound_file[j])
save(resulting_swf)
Which will produce 900 Flash animations with different combinations of sound and background, what is the starting point? Are there some libraries (in Python, Perl, PHP, etc.) with good documentation and examples to develop something like that, some program that I can run from the command line?
I have a website at [URL] The problem i'm facing is that after the preloader is done the homepage comes but the other menus still takes much time to load and the sound also take atleast 5 min ! :(
How can i make them all bind together so that after the preloader everything comes together at an instant completely !

How do I get a sound to play throughout the entire flash site in the background? Go to [URL] and you will see what I mean. Its a great site by the way! In this "crucial limit" site, he has tunes playing in the background, and they keep playing despite how deep you navigate through the site, no matter what button you press, the song continues to play without stopping. View 2 RepliesI have a flash file with a background music sound object, and I have a video player at a particular section on the timeline. When the playback head goes to the section with the video player, I would like the background music to fade, but of course, I need the volume to be up for the video. The code I have works find to fade the audio, but the problem is that the video's sound also turns off.
This is the code at the beginning of the timeline:

Further down the time line, in the video player section, there this code, which works to fade the sound, but seems to turn off the video, too:

I'm working on a background music class and found that you cannot use the Sound class in a class file. Specifically, initiating and attaching the sound. Starting, stopping, getting the duration and such seem acceptable (though I haven't tested this yet). I've done a few searches and haven't found any work arounds other than when the class is called, hand it the sound object with the sound already attached, like this:

I am wondering if there is an easy way to allow the user to change the background image on the stage by clicking a button. I have several different background images (they are just different colors, each on its own layer) and I want to have small buttons of each color that can be clicked to change the background to that color.

There are 4 buttons and a Text box on Frame 1, but the background that is loaded in the code overlaps.
I have buttons that load SWF files. when i test the SWF they have a solid background. However, if i use a button to open the swf they have transparent/no background, yet you can still see the contents of the swf.
How do i get the SWF to have a solid background when opened by buttons?
I'm somewhat stuck in a project that I have to deliver next Friday. Thing is... I've got to code a webpage like The Killers Band webpage with a panoramic picture moving according to your mouse movements.
I've tried several things already, but I had no success yet. (Everything must be coded in AS2.0, and I'm using Flash CS3 to cover the project).
All I have is the panoramic picture, which I might be able to upload if you ask me to.
Additional info:
I've already converted the background picture into a movie clip symbol. Also, if I ever have to send the picture to anyone, I'll send it as a Private Message, since I can't post links yet.
I have a nav menu i am building with flash MX 2004 and im using action script to make the background change when nav buttons are rolled over. I currently have a movie clip where the background changes with a motion tween and i used some action script so that depending on the button the specific frame will play and then stop in the background change mc.However after you have done things once they get screwed up and instead of the animation it just changes pictures instantly and the picture is usually incorrect.here is a sample of the actionscript i am using:

Basically, I've built an application which is working fine. I have a 'settings' button that overlays a settings window, semi transparent, over the main application, that has some buttons on it.The problem I'm having is that the buttons on the main window are still selectable, which I don't want. How can I get it to stop tracking the buttons underneath my overlay window?
View 2 RepliesOK here what I'm envisioning and keep in mind ive only just started playing with flash so I really am a total novice at this point: I want to have two buttons which load different jpegs which are pretty large (about 5000 width x 600 height) to animate as the page background. so in my BG layer for the main timeline i added a container movie clip (5000x600 also) and in the container movie clip's timeline i have it classic tweening across the stage back and forth. then on the main timeline i have my two buttons which are supposed to load the backgrounds. the thing that seems to be messing it all up is the fact that i call "stop();" in my action script to stop on my 3rd frame of the main timeline after the preloader etc. in my testing i added yet another movie clip that animates and it keeps animating when i cal stop(); but the background image is not animating any more.

I have some code below which creates a background and buttons for a basic website. The site consists of 8 sections, with photos, text, etc.I am trying to "_Alpha" fade the entire page upon page Load. I want each page to have the "_Alpha" effect. So I need a function or a correct call to place on each page's code.For some reason, my code below works for the entire page and one button, but the rest of the buttons, still show up instantly. Notice a few lines below where I actually do my tween call, "//Alpha Ease-In". I am using "this" for my tween, but I have tried "_root", and even each button "_root.but1", etc. but it still seems to give me partial results. Anyone know how to correctly tween the entire page upon load?[code]
