ActionScript 2.0 :: Button Disable While Animation Is On Progress?
Oct 26, 2004
Got this set of buttons where its animation is made by AS, so what i did is i put each button on separate MCs to make it move, but my prob is i have to disable the button while the animation is on progress..how do i stop it.. ?
Now I have 2 movieclip. Mc1 & mc2. I planned to to make mc2 do certain animation and user must input the key within the progress animation of the mc2 in order prevent something happen
I've created a progress bar animation to load an external SWF file as described in this document: [URL] The problem is, the SWF file i want to load is a magazine exported from Indesign, so I want it to display one page (frame) at a time (you can go to the next page using the navigation buttons provided). When I use the method mentioned above the clip loads, but then it plays... so how can i make it stop at the first frame?
Is there a way for a SWF to save progress in an animation? I'm planning on creating a very interactive website but I want it to be able to remember the settings people use for instance after they drag a button. I mean, after you quit the page. It still has to remember.
I got a question about disabling buttons, got this set of buttons where its animation is made by AS, so what I did is I put each button on separate MCs to make it move, but my prob is I have to disable the button while the animation is on progress..how do I stop it?
ok..i'm in the midst of extending/modifying this tutorial.... i understand the transition mc is the loading animation.... however i want to put a progress bar.

I have several buttons wich loads movies into a movieclip. When you hit once, it takes 1,5 seconds when the flashy makeup is final and the content is visible.When i hit a button 2-times the website turns into a epilepsic repeated load.
Check the code: /* a node in the tree has been selected */ treeListener.change = function (evt:Object) {[code].....
I want to freeze my animation totally during processing, so that:
1: click 2: processing, takes 1.5 second (button is disabled) 3, after 1.5 second: finished (button is enabled)
does anyone know how to disable that slide animation and just have the action bar instantly change to whatever action bar the next view contains, but still do a slide navigation for the rest of the view. My Action bar doesn't change on every page so seeing the same image reload repetitively in the action bar.
now we all used to disable the menu until new section of our site gets animation but how do you handle user repeatedly abusing for example back button on the browser when moving though your website?
I have an SWF movie (1375 frames) and created a progress bar (248px wide) with a slider that moves according to the movie progress. I'm doing that next way:Calculating the distance for the slider to be moved each frame (248 / 1375) On each ENTER_FRAME moving the slider for the calculated distance The problem is - the movie ends far before the slider reaches the end of the progress bar.
I'm thinking that the distance (Step 1) is is somehow ends floored by Flash and the actual distance it moves the slider is smaller than required. That's why the movie ends, but the timeline control just passed the 2/3 of its way. My question is - is there any solution for the problem? Or any other way to go, if it's a wrong one?
ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.
im trying to do is have a button that shows an animation (created by a duplicateMovieClip function) with onRollOver and stops the animation with onRollOut. It works when i roll over and it stops when i roll out, but then it continues in a loop up to the point where i rolled out (instead of cutting off completely as i would like). Id be extremely grateful if you could tell me where im going wrong.
I'm trying to figure out how to disable a button after it is click and then enable it once another button is clicked. I'm stuck on how to enable the button.
on (rollOver) { this.gotoAndPlay("s1"); _root.slideshow.gotoAndPlay("s4");
I dont even know if i got the title right. I am 5 days into actionscript and i have no prior training or experience in programming, flash using or whatever you might need to build a decent site, except for the graphic design part. I do however need to build an online portflio asap and things have been going great
I have a main movie that uses buttons to go to specific frames on the main timeline:
HZWA.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToAndStopAtFrame); function fl_ClickToGoToAndStopAtFrame(event:MouseEvent):voi d { gotoAndStop(5);
Im trying to create an e-mail button that displays a small progress bar that plays for a sec or two, the button itself and the progress bar have been done but i dont know how to make the button play the movieclip without going to other frames in the movie, seeing as ther is only one (its a side menu for my warcraft mapping website). ive tried the loadmovie option but it just doesnt seem to like loading onto the screen (it loads in random locations lol)
I'm building a flv_video AS3 player. I'm using steaming-video.The player is working fine, but there is something that I want to improve. Currently when I push play button and if I drag&drop the scrubber of progress-bar somewhere in the area that is still not buffered, the player doesn't start to play from that position. So I want to do it.
In my code, when a user clicks on a button, I set the alpha of the button to 50 and set enabled=0. This works to essentially disable and grey out the button. The problem is that even though the button has been disabled, it still sits in the over state until the user moves the cursor off the hit area... Funny, no?
Since you can't tell a button what frame to go to, how do I get it to go back to its up state (without recreating all my buttons as movieclips and doing the whole thing manually)?
if you click on the middle Character a popup window will open at that time i want all other buttons disable so that we cant see the small box on mouseover.[url]...
ActionScript Code: // // var box = new Sprite(); box.graphics.lineStyle(10, 0xFF0000);
[code]...
If you click the box, its alpha is set to 1 rather than .1 because of an errant MOUSE_OUT event.What is the right way to fully disable this button when it is clicked?I'd rather not remove the event listeners because I have a bunch of different MOUSE_OVER functions on many different buttons and keeping track of which function is with which button and whether or not the listeners are already assigned seems like way too much work just to properly disable a button.
I have a button that when you roll over it a big window pops up, but then when you click on it, it pops the window up again, now its not a problem but i would like to know if i can disable the click function somehow. so that only the roll over works.
I know you can probably use a movie clip and just tell it with actionscript to load when rolled over, but i don't know how
I have some buttons that play an external swf inside an empty movie clip on the main timeline. I was wondering what Actionscript I need to disable the button when it is pressed. I want the button to still have roll over functionality and everything, but I just want the swf to load once when the button is pressed. Below is the script I am using right now.
on (release) { //load Movie Behavior if(this.content == Number(this.content)){
