ActionScript 2.0 :: Buttons Displayed After RollOver Movieclip?
May 31, 2011
I have a movieclip in my animation, call it mc_1. When i roll over it i would like to display 2 buttons near mc_1 - arrows up and down. With these buttons i can control y coordinate of mc_1 (including these buttons). So i've tried something like this.
Inside mc_1 i've created 2 keyframes. First includes only mc_1. Second includes mc_1 and two arrows (movieclips also).
I have a scene where there are 10 artist names. Each artist name is a button with a rollover image. The first artist name has an uploadMovie command in the timeline to show an image immediatly when the user opens the page.
How do I unload that movieclip when the user scrolls over the nine remaining buttons? I know it is an unload command but I am not sure what the code should be or where I should put it. I have tried to put an unload command on the other buttons but I had no luck~
b1_01 is the instance of the button inside designer_mc movieclip~ however I ealized that buttons won't work in movieclip and i just don't know what's other solution
how to get this fixed~ i m so stuck and I have wasted my past 2 days trying to figure this out and still no result...
I'm creating a quiz application using Flash CS3, but it's been such a long time since I've used ActionScript and I'm a little bit stuck.I've created an input text box in the first frame of my quiz program. A person will enter their name into this text box (which I've called "nameInput") and then click the next button to proceed through the quiz. However, when I get to the results page I cannot figure out how to get the input name to be displayed automatically in the dynamic text box (which is called "nameOutput") when the user enters the frame.
I am having trouble with a job I am doing at the moment which has an mc with buttons within it. I want it so that when I roll over the mc it tweens from a small version to a larger version, and on this mc there are some buttons. At the moment I can get the mc to move but the buttons remain inactive and also the rollover states on the buttons don't work. I have attached a simpler version of what I am trying to do to this post.
I'm currently working on a flashsite and are trying to figure out rollover menu buttons. The site has 6 menu buttons and are placed next to each other. I want to put a rollover action on the buttons, that when you rollover a button that the whole button image enlarges and moves in front of the other.
I'm creating a menu system, the text buttons should, on rollover, move all buttons to the left (of the button currently rolled over) 100 pixels, in the gap created a sub menu running vertically will appear which will break into a 2nd horizontal submenu etc. I'm still in the early stages, and have hit a stumbling block, I placed a trace (this); cmd in root of the roll over function then again in each segement of the IF/ELSE loop inside that fuction. The trace CMD in the root of the rollover gives me the feed back _level0.btn1 or 2 or what ever button I have rolled over but the ones inside the IF/ELSE loop all say _level0.btn0 regardless of the button I roll over!
I'm trying to build a Flash-based controller application to go on the web interface for the rack-mounted units which my current employer builds. The interface is defined in an XML file which is parsed and processed when the Flash application is started.
I've created some library symbols which act as various controls - sliders, toggle buttons, etc. I can add these fine to the stage. What I would like to do is group them together in a container of some sort so that I can show and hide them en masse without having to loop through all the controls. All library symbols I'm using are linked to ActionScript classes.
If I use a symbol I created earlier and added to the library as this container, everything works fine and the controls display correctly on the stage.
However, if I dynamically create a MovieClip and use that as the container, it never appears on the stage. The code is identical in both cases except for the class names being used. I am calling addChild() on the MovieClip instance to add the controls to the MovieClip, and then call addChild on the document class to add the MovieClip to the stage. As I mentioned above, this all works perfectly if I use a pre-created symbol from the library as the container.[code]...
I am trying to activate a rollOver-function when the mouse rolls over a movieclip inside of a movieclip. On the main window (root), first you rollOver a button where a window shows up with more options (movieclips). From stage, my first movieclip is called "catapultas_read_more" which leads to amother movieclip called "pic1_mc". The label that is going to play when mouse over on pic1_mc is "rollOn".I tried this.gotoAndPlay("rollOn); directly inserted to the movieclip, but the movieclip inside pic1_mc never starts
I am trying to figure out how to make a bottom bar similar to the one seen ontions inside the bar- here's what I've got so far:as you can see I have a date/time MC inside the bar_mc which is working fine but whenever I try to have a new rollover/rollout movieclip (or button) inside the bar_mc it won't work/won't show rollover animation.
I have about 6 buttons that have an over state and hit state. I have actionscript that has them going to a url when on the hit state and on roll over it is showing a text label. All of that is working. The issue that I am having is that for 3 of the buttons, they flicker when you roll over them. These are built and coded exactly the same as the others that are working. where I should look for the breakdown? It seems strange that there is a inconsistency unless it is the order of the buttons or something like that.
I've tried to make rollover buttons, following a bunch of tutorials. I'm a noob, but I'm sure I've done everything correctly!Basically, the compiler shouts at me, while, another .fla that I downloaded and tried to follow with tutorial works perfectly.
I have a rollover button and I have assigned actionscript to play a sound when the button is rolled over.
However when the sound plays, it seems to overlap the sound and play it many times! I know it is not repeating the sound as I have tested it with a song and it plays the song many times overlapping, rather than repeating it.
I would like an animation to play (of the words being scribbled out) and when you mouseout, it goes back to normal. On page click, I wanted the link to change colour so that you would know which page you were on.I have created a frame by frame animation of the words being scribbled out, but I don't know what to do with the animation! How do I insert it into my html? Do I need to use actionscript in flash?
I am new to flash. I have had this flash header up on my companies website for live for over a year now[url]...
I want to be able to change the text for the different menu options. (ie. swap About Us with Products).
I am fairly computer literate, yet having a hell of time trying to figure it out in the flash editor. All of the button just say Home and they seem to be drawing from some root, but cannot figure out where that is or how to edit.
I have a map of the United States and have created a zoom effect for each state so that when the user rolls over the state, the state is magnified, and when the user rolls off the state, the state is returned to its original size. Everything works fine if the mouse movement is slow. However if the mouse movement is fast, it doesn't work.
I am building a website and I need to fade in/ fade out buttons. Here is an example : My main goal is that when I roll over the services button, I want the submenu (corporate and weddings) to fade in. Then when I roll over the portfolio button, I want the first submenu (corporate and weddings) to fade out and the second submenu ( clients, corporate, weddings, etc..) to fade in and to stay like this. Finally when I roll over testimonials, the second submenu fades out. And so on for the rest of the buttons. I know how to animate the buttons to fade in/out but I don't know how to make them fade out when I roll over the other buttons. I have attached my fla and swf. [URL]
This is probably a really dumb question, but I'm very new to AS3 so please bear with me. I created some rollover buttons (movieclips) for a flash website in AS2 using the following code:
Could anyone advise me on how to start converting this code into AS3? I know I have to use an EventListener but I don't really understand how it works.
I am trying to create some rollover buttons which will load a movie when pressed, but as soon as another button is pressed the movie playing should turn off, replacing with another movie. At the moment you press the buttons and all the movies play on top of each other
Ok lets say I have 3 buttons and an arrow directly on top-middle of the 1st button. How do I make it so that when I rollover anyone of those buttons, it goes to the middle of it? Only its x position is changing...
I'm trying to create a menu, where some buttons becomes visible when the user "rollOver" a box the buttons is beneath. Look at http:[url]... menu system, at the main page.I place my buttons within a MC, and gives the MC this AS:
But when I move the mouse over the buttons, they aren't enabled, probably because flash got the idea that the MC is above the buttons, and that the MC is a button.
I am really getting stuck with the 'Local Connection' action script vibe. All the tutorials show adding text from one swf and it appearing in another, but to this day i still cannot find a way of rolling over a button and it triggering the rollover on a button in anther swf.
My theory is that if it is possible to add text to another swf...surely connecting buttons is possible..
I admit to being in WAY over my head here, but it seems like there should be an easy fix (yeah, right!) Here is my URL: [URL] I used AS3 to create my buttons, but when I click on them they open up new tabs or windows and I want then to just stay in the same tab. I got this AS for the buttons from a Flash workshop I took over the summer and I've tried a couple things I found online to change the target for the buttons, but I just got a bunch of errors. So now I'm kind of "afraid" of my AS
So below is my code for a project I'm working on. I'm having some trouble though. I got the code for the scrolling menus online from another forum, but I can't figure out where that was. In any case, the current version of the code allows for the scrolling to happen when I open the page displays (enter Frame). But I can't figure out how to get the scrolling to happen only when I hover over the menu. I only want each one to scroll when I hover over the menu, not when I get on the page. I tried to replace the "enterFrame" part of the code, but it didn't work right. I need this done ASAP.
To make a simple rollover with a click to go to another page, I'm thinking there has to be a easier way sticking to coding still. I don't want to place the code on the button but keep it on the timeline like above.
I've just finished making advanced rollover buttons, but I just realized that apparently, I don't know how to link them. Can someone explain to me how to link rollover buttons and exactly where to place the code?
