I have a variable called from a .txt file (don't ask - how the client wanted it) the variable reads... &ClientNumberOf=4 I have a for loop that uses that variable to set the limit on the number of times it loops...
How can I create a for loop so I can use different values of the same node? So I want to count the "<Text>" nodes of the XML and use their different values on different dynamic textfields. Note that I have mutliple Movieclips on the stage with the same amount of textfields and I would like to include them in the loop, so I named them mc1 mc2 etc.
I have 10 dynamic text fields inside a movieclip, which are populated via an XML file. However, the xml file sometimes has less than 10 items. It never has more than 10. This results in the following error, which is normal. I need the code to count the amount of items in the XML file and then create a for-each loop. I can visualize it, but I don't know how to write it. Basically what I need the code below transformed in to is this... (notice the #'s)
Would it be possible for something like this to happen? Code: addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, loop); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loop); function loop(e:Event, key:KeyboardEvent) { //do something } I get the error ArgumentError: Error #1063: Argument count mismatch on Turret/loop(). Expected 2, got 1.
I'm trying to make a volume button for my site and it looks something like this:
- ||||| +
i want the volume bar to start filled and when the user hits the minus button it lowers the volume and when it hit plus it takes the volume up well when I go down and up the volume bars start to get crazy...it just works when I go down the whole way and after it goes up the whole way, when I change direction on the midle of the path it jumps some bars...
Code: volDown.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, menosVol); volUp.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, maisVol); var cliques:uint = 0 if (cliques == 7){
Im trying to make a dynamic textfield count from 0 - $number (lets say 50) in 3 seconds. So that when I hit 3 seconds then I hit 50.So what im basically doing is calling a function with setInterval and im calling the function every 60 milisecond (3x1000 / 50).
The textfield is following a movieclip (percentagebar) which im tweening from one position to another in the same amount of time - 3 seconds.What im seeing is that the movieclip reaches its end position before the count on the textfield is done.Is this because the mc tween relies on the FPS and will therefore end quicker?And what can I do to make my textfield count end the same time as the tween?
ActionScript Code: //Defining end number var pComplete:Number = 50; //Defining count var var pCompleteTimer:Number = 0;
I am trying to make a simple count up flash project. I am still very new to flash. But I've done count ups before. It took me awhile but I finally got rid of ALL the errors, but yet the dynamic text I have setup is not showing anything.
Code: var today:Date = new Date(); var currentYear = today.getFullYear(); var currentTime = today.getTime(); var targetDate:Date = new Date(2010,9,18); var targetTime = targetDate.getTime(); [Code] .....
I've found a simple count up script over on Actionscript.org
var count:Number = 0; var maxNum:Number = 1250; var num:Number = 1; this.createTextField("txt", this.getNextHighestDepth(), 0, 0, 100, 50);
[code]....
This works great for my use, but now I am trying to figure out how to make it count down. I've tried changing everything to opposites like count=1250 and maxNum=0 (I think this would be the minNum instead), count+=num to count-=num, and count>=maxNum to count<=maxNum.
I made a scrollbar, but now I have a problem, need to read the number of lines of Dynamic text field and if it is greater than x show the scrollbar and hide if is less. Like this:
This example counts from 1-100. I want the decimal keep counting to ten over-and over. (a.)How do I loop the decimal? 1-10 over-and-over. (b.)How to I get the whole and decimal value on the same dynamic text field?
THING "It's a counter with whole and decimal values" -text filed receive string of whole number and decimal place -decimal fast, whole number slow
How am i to get the variables zombData.zomb0, & zombData.zomb1 from inside the "for loop"
I want this trace command dynamic
Quote: trace(zombData.zomb+i);
it works when i put zombData.zomb0 (a variable sent from a PHP script)but if i want to make it dynamic how it is; It fails & outputs NaN How do i make it dynamic for the loop?[code]...
I have a small problem with dynamic targeting inside a loop. Shortly, I have some buttons which I add listeners to in a loop. loop works fine. I got everything to work, but the second line in it gives this error : TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert []@d4abe81 to Function.[code]Can anyone help me with the correct syntax for the second line ?
I have created a movieclip. This movieclip will have 5 child Sprite's, which will contain an image pulled from xml. I want to create a for loop to create those 5 Sprite's, add the appropriate image into each one (i.e., img[0] into sprite[0]) and then add each sprite to the movieclip.
I have a loop in a function which condition depends on some variables a,b,c and d. I would like to change that condition depending on where the function is called from. Would it be possible to assign those conditions to a variable (string maybe)?
Like this
function varcon():void{ while (conditionVar){ a=...
I'm having a bit of trouble with a script to check a 'dynamic number'...
Basically, I've got a movie which plays in a loop and each time it goes around, it clicks up a number, which I have on the stage as 'dynamic text' called "ImageNumber" - this bit is working fine it uses the following code to add[code]...
Actionscript Code: for (var i:Number=1; i<=3;i++){ var char_name+i = event.target.data.char_name_ + i;//It should be like//var char_name1 = event.target.data.char_name_1;//var char_name2 =
I'm loading a variable from a .txt file into flash (per client request).The variable is as follows &ClientNumberOf=4 so the variable = 4, this works on trace, happy, joy When I try and add the variable to my for loop..[code]I've tried a slew of different options...(for example)var newVariable: Number = ClientNumberOf; Nothing works, again, trace works, but script fails to work when I try and dynamically set the loop?!
what I'm trying to do is access the data of several movies clips, that are inside of several other movie clips: MC1.insideMC._visible=false (which works, but isn't dynamic) but dynamically with a FOR loop. I've tried: For(bullet=1; bullet<5; bullet++){ "MC"+bullet.insideMC1._visible=false (this does not work) } Does anyone know the dot notation or another way to do this?
I have done this same thing in ActionScript 3, but am not familiar with ActionScript 2, which I am forced to use for this project. I am loading products into a SWF via XML and attempting to add a click event to each dynamically-created movieclip. Simply tracing the text from a node in XML will do for now. I'd like to assign a property called "desc" or "description" to each movieclip and have it trace that property's value when clicked. Here is the relevant portion of my code as it stands[code]...
I want to populate the stage with a list of dynamic text fields with individual names, something like pg4_txt1, pg4_txt2, pg4_txt3. I'm a novice at flash, I tried creating variables with a while loop, but I just haven't got the grasp of it.
Here's some kind of weird pseudo code to explain what I want to do:
var leading:Number = 15; var i:Number = 0; while (i<14) {
I'm loading 8 thumbnails via XML, placing in a sprite, and spacing them out with a helper grid class. This part works. What does not work is when I try to assign a mask to each of these (using a simpleRectangle class I made) I appear to only be assigning a mask to the last image. Am I doing something wrong with 'imageLoader.mask = _mask;' ?
My ultimate endeavor here is to click the thumbnail and animate the mask to reveal the entire thumb.I nested the showPictures function so it could have a reference to the masks, which is not optimal.
package public class MiniGallery extends Sprite { //create($columns:int, $rows:int, $xSpacing:int, $ySpacing:int, $xPadding:int, $yPadding:int)
