AS3 :: Flash - Count With Decimal Place "dynamic Text"
Feb 9, 2010
This example counts from 1-100. I want the decimal keep counting to ten over-and over. (a.)How do I loop the decimal? 1-10 over-and-over. (b.)How to I get the whole and decimal value on the same dynamic text field?
THING
"It's a counter with whole and decimal values" -text filed receive string of whole number and decimal place -decimal fast, whole number slow
I am trying to make a simple count up flash project. I am still very new to flash. But I've done count ups before. It took me awhile but I finally got rid of ALL the errors, but yet the dynamic text I have setup is not showing anything.
Code: var today:Date = new Date(); var currentYear = today.getFullYear(); var currentTime = today.getTime(); var targetDate:Date = new Date(2010,9,18); var targetTime = targetDate.getTime(); [Code] .....
I'm having some problems getting a dynamic text box to only return two decimal places. I have a time line scrubber tied to a dynamic text box that outputs what frame it is on - but I need it divided by 20, then subtract 0.05 Code: frameTxt.text = String((ballAnimationMC.currentFrame / 20) - 0.05); This works great most of the time...but other times returns something like 20.9999999. What can I do to ensure there are ever only two decimal places returned? See the attached FLA.
I made a scrollbar, but now I have a problem, need to read the number of lines of Dynamic text field and if it is greater than x show the scrollbar and hide if is less. Like this:
I looked everywhere on the internet and couldnt find how to generate a random number that had one decimal place.I am trying to generate numbers between 12.0 and 13.0 randomly.Below is my code... I know its wrong because of Math.round and Math.random, but i cant seem to find anything that deals with a decimal place.
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_EnterFrameHandler_1); function fl_EnterFrameHandler_1(event:Event):void{volt.text = Math.round(Math.random()*(1)+12).toString();}
I have four dynamic text field created at the authoring time in Frame-4. I just need them to be placed randomly every time when I come from Frame3. I have known that there is a Math Class which generates random numbers which would be an effective way. how do I proceed ahead i.e shall I create an array and seed it with the their current positions etc etc
How can I create a for loop so I can use different values of the same node? So I want to count the "<Text>" nodes of the XML and use their different values on different dynamic textfields. Note that I have mutliple Movieclips on the stage with the same amount of textfields and I would like to include them in the loop, so I named them mc1 mc2 etc.
I'm trying to make a volume button for my site and it looks something like this:
- ||||| +
i want the volume bar to start filled and when the user hits the minus button it lowers the volume and when it hit plus it takes the volume up well when I go down and up the volume bars start to get crazy...it just works when I go down the whole way and after it goes up the whole way, when I change direction on the midle of the path it jumps some bars...
Code: volDown.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, menosVol); volUp.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, maisVol); var cliques:uint = 0 if (cliques == 7){
The problem is that i need to count symbols in external .txt file djs/1/text.txt If this external text file contains more than 50 symbols then i need to echo some text in Dynamic flash text(Myflashtext.htmlText ="some text";) in my Flashmovie.
i have a problem with the line space flash creates when a dynamic text is loaded in a dynamic text field on the stage i put a dynamic textFild with istance name "profile_text". then im loadin in it a text. my text is written in the Notepad like this
[Code]...
i already set a Textformat to my dynamic text with i tryied to play with the "Leading".. but i think it something dealing with paragraph. how i can decrease spacing between paragraphs??
I'm querying an XML web service and am parsing 3 nodes per the code below. I want to send the resulting value to a label component. When I place the Label component on stage, and name it lowtemp_label, remove the default text value of Label and play the SWF, nothing shows up. How do I ensure that the lowtemp_label gets the returned low temp value?
I've got a small table populated with information from a database that I'm trying to deploy as a table above a flash movie.
Here's the DIV ID for this:
However, no matter what I do the table keeps displaying BEHIND the flash images. The table is in a layer set an visability at 1 while the flash is set at 0. And if you information for both mac and pc platforms even better.
I'm building a dynamic content page in flash that consists of using attachMovieClip and createEmptyMovieClip with coordinates to place photos and objects, which are loaded from an external source and scrolling their thumbnails I've run into a problem setting the variables correctly because the scrolling thumbnails required that the thumbnails be nested inside a scrolling controller clip and that has somehow messed up my preloading and sequential text caption loading for the tumbnails.
I have a variable called from a .txt file (don't ask - how the client wanted it) the variable reads... &ClientNumberOf=4 I have a for loop that uses that variable to set the limit on the number of times it loops...
I have created two text boxes one is source and another is output. I want to place the output box inside a movie clip so that i can move it. How can i place the output text box inside a movie clip ?
Im trying to make a dynamic textfield count from 0 - $number (lets say 50) in 3 seconds. So that when I hit 3 seconds then I hit 50.So what im basically doing is calling a function with setInterval and im calling the function every 60 milisecond (3x1000 / 50).
The textfield is following a movieclip (percentagebar) which im tweening from one position to another in the same amount of time - 3 seconds.What im seeing is that the movieclip reaches its end position before the count on the textfield is done.Is this because the mc tween relies on the FPS and will therefore end quicker?And what can I do to make my textfield count end the same time as the tween?
ActionScript Code: //Defining end number var pComplete:Number = 50; //Defining count var var pCompleteTimer:Number = 0;
I need to create a text field where the user can only write numbers from 3.0 up to 12.0 with any decimal. With any number he imputs i need another text field to store the number lowered to its nearest .5 number.[code]...
I have a doubt in flash, i have a input text field with the text "search..." if i click on the input text field the word " search...." should not be visible. It is quite same as search bar in Flash Kit website , it is having the word "Search Flash Kit" but when the user click on the text field the word get disappear.

My website has a ring of images arranged in a loop in 3d space and the ring's rotation is controlled by the _ymouse value. The problem is that anywhere you go on the page, the loop keeps spinning and is ridiculously distracting.I'd like the spinning to stop dead in its tracks when the _xmouse value is greater than 100, but I can't get it to do so. I can stop it, but it doesn't stop at the moment where the _xmouse value exceeds 100; it goes tricks itself into thinking _ymouse position is 0, going back to the same place every time _xmouse >100. If you want to see where I am so far, the site is [url]....
I'm still new to all this so if you have any suggestions please be thorough or alter the code for me so I can learn through a little bit of reverse engineering.Maybe I need a listener of some sort? I don't know. Here's the section of code dealing with the _xmouse & _ymouse controls:
panCamera = function(){
spin += this._ymouse/4000; if (_xmouse >= 100){[code]....
I'm making a scroller that scrolls movieclip (text inside). It works quite good but I want to put the final touch on it. I want that my scrollbar is dynamic in its size (just as browser scrolls or windows scrolls). Then my biggest programming problem comes up, maths
The values that I have is - How tall is the area there the text shows. - How tall is the movieclip that the text is shown in - How tall is the place there my scrollbar is shown.
I've found a simple count up script over on Actionscript.org
var count:Number = 0; var maxNum:Number = 1250; var num:Number = 1; this.createTextField("txt", this.getNextHighestDepth(), 0, 0, 100, 50);
[code]....
This works great for my use, but now I am trying to figure out how to make it count down. I've tried changing everything to opposites like count=1250 and maxNum=0 (I think this would be the minNum instead), count+=num to count-=num, and count>=maxNum to count<=maxNum.
