I want to make a Blog in my website, but I don't know how to loop the parameters into the same dynamic text box! The XML will be basicly like this:

I'm not sure why the dynamic text only appears once and doesn't loop. It's in a movieclip that's in another tweened movieclip. [code]...
View 4 RepliesI'm creating a searchable database in Flash where all the content loads dynamically from external sources. the main interface is columns of buttons where clicking in the first column sends the user to a named frame with a second column of buttons, then onto the third column then the final content is loaded into a new movie clip. The interface uses just one button(a movie clip) and the columns of buttons are created with a duplicateMovieClip function. that part works fine. However I can't get the button labels to load from an external text file even though I'm using the explicit button names, and I can't get the buttons to react to clicks even though they're "hot", i.e., the cursor changes when I mouse over them. the button behaviors use the dynamic button names.

I have 10 text input. (txtin1, txtin2, txtin3,.....) I going to change the maxChars for every text input but I going to do that dynamic in a loop. I have tried
ActionScript Code:

But nothing happened. I know that the variable "nr" and "maxnr" have a number.
I am just learning how to use Flash AS3. I have made a very basic animation that is a circle with a slice in it that grows larger over a couple of seconds until it is about a quarter of the size of the circle. It is designed for my research subjects to watch and follow for range of motion and speed as they complete a leg exercise task. I used a basic for loop in the animation to repeat it 10 times, then a frame appears that says "Set Complete." I would like to add a repetition counter to the screen so that subjects know which rep they are on throughout the animation. I know that I have to use a dynamic text box to do this, but I don't know where to put the script so that the new counter number will appear on the screen after each loop. Here is what I have so far for script:

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create four cubes in Papervision using a for loop. The cube class requires, as its first parameter, a MaterialsList. I've created four different MaterialLists in my code with the names materialsList1,materialsList2, materialsList3, & materialsList4. In a for loop, I'm trying to pass those variables as the MaterialsList parameter. It's not working. If I use the variables themselves in the code, it works fine, so I know my problem has something to do with how I'm trying to data type the dynamic name (see Actionscript below)The Actionscript:

I have a Flash site I am developing that feeds in XML into various arrays and populates dynamic movie clips and text fields. I am having trouble making a for loop that works with my movieclips and text fields. I am probably only missing one step and if I can figure it out I will cut my lines of code about 10X. I have attached the fla and image files in a zip file.

I have created a Flash movie which, when previewed in Flash works perfectly. Flash CS4.I have put this code in at the start:

I have a for loop updating a dynamic text element but it seems to iterate so fast that only the last item in the loop is updating the text. I'd like the dynamic text element to be updated with EACH item in the loop, not just the last.

How can I create a for loop so I can use different values of the same node? So I want to count the "<Text>" nodes of the XML and use their different values on different dynamic textfields. A comment here Filtering XML based on multiple params - Flex says that the expression inside the parentheses should not be a string. Agreed.So, is there any other approach to filter out multiple parameters in XML than to use the descendants(), which currently is not working out because we are building the search query dynamically, based on the params searched?

I currently have a file set up that imports and external text file and displays the parameters in the text file in separate dynamic text fields. No problem there. the text file reads: param1 = 300śm2 = 450śm3 = 500 However, what I want to be able to do, is set parameters that rather than defining text strings, define numeric values. I want to be able to use those numeric values to set the x position of an instance of an animated MC on the stage (animated with actionscript). As far as I know theres in no way to cahnge the alpha of a dynamic text box. I put one in a movie clip and when i try to change the alpha of it everything else in it changes its alpha but the not the DT box. Could someone plz verify for me that u can't change alpha and help me find a component that allows alpha control with a dynamic text box. thx in advance.

I want to have the mini text box load new external text files in the main text box. For instance, I have a button for music, which loads a list of songs in the mini text box. I want to be able to click on the name of one of the songs and have it load the lyrics in the main text box. I'm sure it's simple, I'm just new.
