I'm trying to create a password input area where a player can insert several passwords and be correct, each password triggering the typing of that password in a separate area (which is what the numbers one to ten in the script below refer to). However, there is some flaw I can't find in the script and if I try to enter anything in the box, it is changed to "orangemarmalade" (see below) and only enters there (acting as if I typed "orangemarmalade" every time).

I have a project that includes 22 buttons that appear and disappear from the stage depending what the user is doing. These 22 buttons are text converted to movie clips. They are all rotated slightly (between 5 and 30 degrees depending where they are on the stage). BUT...hen you ROLL OVER them the mouse thinks the button is in a different location to where you see it. I realized the cursor reacts as if the button is no rotated at all; so the cursor changes to the hand, and the buttons change colour when you are near but not over the button and then you move over it and the cursor returns to an arrow thinking its rolled out.

I was re-using some old actionscript in a new fla. For some reason my scrollbar script didn't work correctly. After some debugging I found out the the maxscroll value was being returned as 2. Strange when there is only two lines of text in a 400px high textfield.
I published the same fla for flash player 7 in stead of 9 and the problem was gone??? Tried in 8 and there it was again. So something went wrong between Flash player 7 and 8, but what? Is this a known bug and are there any work arounds?

I'm attempting to make a Username and Password input box, with a set username and password that will take you to the next frame, but whenever I test it it just stays in the same frame.
The code I'm using is
on(release, keyPress "<Enter>"){
if (password eq "###") {
if (username eq "###") {
gotoAndPlay(2) ;

but with the ### being what I actually have the username and password set to. As I said before, when I try this, nothing happens. I have the values for both the username and password boxes set to username and password respectively, but I still cannot get it to work. What am I doing wrong?

How do I hide the letters in a password input text box. I have an input text box for the viewer to type in a password and would like the password to not show when typed in, like is the case with html text boxes, where you just see a bullet for each letter in the password. How would I do this? Is there a font I could use?

I have a text box which I want to display a certain text on it when it loads, say, "demotext", for example. However, I want it to clear that text when the user clicks on it and then only displays stars when they type (as if it has turned into a password box when they clicked on it). I'm creating a form in Flash MX and I need to created a script that check if the two passwrod text intup field are the same or not, if they are the same it will go to one frame and is they don't match it will go to a diferent frame. I need to created another script that will check if the text input field for the email has the symbol @ and .com, if this is true or false it will go to one frame or another.

For some reason every time I insert a multiline input textbox, when I play my video and click on the texbox it puts the cursor on the second line of the texbox. I'm not sure why a second line was even available as the textbox should be empty. Anybody else experience this issue?

i am trying to create a simple quiz in school. I have one test question which requires the answer to be -1.I have created Input text and assigned the variable answer for this question.I have a button with the following AS2 script:

Firstly whatever you type the numerical keys are immobilised on the keyboard when the .SWF file is builtSecondly I cannot enter the correct answer!! If I type in Minus 1 etc it goes to frame 3.I have tried flags rather than frame numbers - same problem.i have tried remaking the quiz as a separate file.using CS4 and CS5 flash - windows 7 PC.

After trying many methods in Flash 6 I have not been able to create a working password field. If anybody has code that works with FLASH 6 please post it. I just want to have two frames a frame to enter the password, and a frame to say that the password was wrong and go back. Then if the password is correct I would like It to go to a different flash document.

I have text input boxes. There is validation for each of the boxes using numberValidator. Now, the thing is that am using alert box to show if any error occurs.
Flowchart ::
1> Insert value in textBox.
2> NumberValidator validates the input on "trigger=change".
3> If error, alert message is displayed. The user clicks OK to go back to form.
4> Focus set back to the TextBox.
5> But, alert box makes the text input value blank / null. i.e. Both the previous error value entered by user and the default correct value will not be displayed now.
Display the most recent correct value that was entered in the text box. Not the default of any other, but the most recent correct value entered by the user.

I kind of understand how to create a basic username and password 'menu' in flash.[code]But I would like to create a menu where a user can create a new username with then will be added to an exteral file ( data base I guess).From there on anything the user does is remembered on that name. And if that user exits the program and loads it again the user's stats are loaded.

If the client is not having the flash player of 10 or above, the flash will not come and it will look a bit odd. In that case, I want to show an alternate image. i created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.

I got this contact form where you can enter your email, subject and namebut my problem is the message part..you can type in the message, but it goes on 1 straight line. pressing Enter doesn't work. but It's also not going automaticaly, while the txt box is no bigger than ex. 150 x 200.

I have a Input text area set up for a contact form. I want the area to display "Email", and for the alpha to be 50%. When you click on the text field to put in your email address, I want the original value to be removed and for the alpha to reset to 100%. I've been able to accomplish this fine so far using the code below; the problem is that I only want the value to become blank again if the user hasn't entered in information yet (this way if the user wants to come back and change something, it won't all be deleted when the text area is clicked on). I tried using an "if" statement, but Flash seems to just ignore it and perform the function either way.
Here is the code that I came up with:

I will inlcude here to code i used and a zipped folder containing all the files of my mp3 player. What i would like to do, (i am not an actionscript expert and did this following a tutorial) is to include a download button for the track which is being listened, be able to insert the playlist 'track buttons' inside the scrollpane on the stage, and sort an annoying bug which makes the music form the player continue even when i leave the section of the site where its in, keeping the music in the background running and starting a new track ontop every time i renter the section where the player is placed.
