I've got several buttons in a tween (graphic) and a few movieclips in two of the buttons. They all have the same code

but this code works only on buttons, not on movieclips.
I've literally been staring at this for 7 hours. I'm missing something.I have two movie clips on the stage. The instance name of the first is puzzleAK. The instance name of the second is pieceAK.The first is linked to a custom class called GeoPuzzle. The second is linked to a custom class called GeoPiece.The code compiles but throws an error (as explained).The code in the main timeline:

What I am aiming for is to have a way to pass "kabinet", or "operativni" etc. to a function or smth... The code is used to control mc buttons on the stage. It works, but it's ugly and not practical, obviously. I tried with

Inside a function, var being the parameter of said function ("kabinet", "operativni" etc.), but to no avail. Also tried with the with(var), thingy, but with the same result.
im working on a zoom/pan gallery and i have a problem that i can't solve.URL...the pan buttons are not working but the zoom and reset buttons works. im working on movie the image using the mouse now, if you will hold the image and move it it will drag it on stage.the image is a loader the loads and image and placed on screen.there is a mask on top of it and a frame that indicates the size of the gallery.when the user pan the image loader content i want it to stop as soon as it gets to the gallery frame,but i cant seem to find the best way to do it.so basicly when the image is in 100% i dont want the user to be able to drag it but after you zoom the user will be able to drag it but only to the edge of the frame so there wont be any white spaces.i tried a lot of different ways to do it but all of them are complicated and not working the way that i want them to work.
View 2 RepliesI used the Fuse example he posted and started to convert it into a class. Here is what I came up with, which works great. However, as you can see in Main.as, it only works one instance at a time, and the last instance that gets called to tween in the onRelease is the one that works.I'm only attaching the two classes that make this run as it depends on some other classes that i have linked up as libraries in eclipse and I don't want to put together a whole package of it, but if its absolutely necessary then let me know and i'll repost a package of files.

View 1 RepliesI created a custom google voice callback swf so someone could put in their phone number, and google voice will call them and connect them to me (essentially calling me). Everything works fine when i run it from my computer, but when I put it online it doesn't work.
The way it works is you put in your own phone number and name, then click call, and it rings the phone of the phone number you put in. This doesn't happen when accessing it from online though.

I've made a file in photoshop with layer. I brought it into flash. I created the movie and it plays but when I want to use the "test movie" feat. it does nothing. The graphics come up but no movement. I exported it as an .swf file but still no luck.
View 8 Repliesmy code is listed below. basically, i wrote this code to generate a rectangle that surrounds the movie clip called 'SELECTED' along with a small square that appears at the bottom left corner of the new rectangle.this new rectangle + tiny square are supposed to act as resizing tool for the movie clip 'SELECTED'. hence, if i press and drag the small square, the mc SELECTED should get resized accordingly. that is happening to some extent, except that when i release the mouse button, neither the onRelease nor onReleaseOutside function gets called.

I also applied a trace statement of "Working?" within the MenuScreen class file and it shows up before the error does! (Even though I don't click on anything...)
I have a box ("bg_box") that I resize and move up and down using the tween class based on what button you select. Once it is resized the text ("textBox") for that box fades on. It works fine on all the other buttons except for one! I added in a scrollpane with a strip of photos ("gross_scroll") on the button that doesn't seem to want to work. It is just a basic _alpha tween so I am not sure why that would cause a problem.
The weirdest thing is that it only has an issue the first time the button is clicked. It skips the tween and just jumps right to the size and position it should be. Once you click on another button and click on the troublemaker again, it works just fine.

I'm working with flash CS4, with an adobe air file with as3, doing a desktop application to use in Windows , I google about information, but only find answers for web.I'm using a flvplayback, and when at source property add a local path as C:folderVideomyvideo.mp4 ,everything works fine, but when source is a server path from other computer as therpcfolderVideomyVideo.mp4 , doesn´t works. I'm not if a flvplayback bug.I have always the possibility to make a map folder, but this application is for a client, and if I can solve if add new map folder, it's better to me.

View 3 RepliesI have 2 frames in my movie, 2 buttons and a video. On the first frame there is code for button #1. On the second frame i have code for button #2 but I'd also like to appear on the first frame. The problem is that when I put the code for the second button on the first frame, the video won't play. so I can only have it on the second frame. I can't figure out why the code, which works when its on frame 2, then won't work on frame 1. When I put the code on frame 1 it breaks the functionality and the video won't play.

I prepared a footer for a website and have the following issue:There are two buttons on footer bar that interests us. One is fullscreen - clicked activates fscommand function. But fscommand works only when I debug my fla. Otherwise, nothing happens. There's an additional variable that shows if fullscreen is active - nothing happens.There's also a "coder" info. I wanted to use navigateToURL function for "mailto:..." adress, but nothing happens, even if if changed it to [URL] adress. Also debugger doesn't activate it.I tested it in browser, completely nothing happens. There's the code, works without any "addons":

i'm using "iloveitaly"s easing scrollbar class, and it works great. however, i added an effect that i want on my scrollbar, and it doesnt work quite how it should. what should happen is when u press the dragger, it should duplicate itself and then fade out, giving it kinda a "mouse trail" type effect i guess you can call it. anyway, here is the code for the part in the class that doesnt work:

I have a few buttons in the main movie. One of them loads a music player and an external file into the stage. Music player been loaded by javascripts.It works, but especially after using other buttons which do other jobs,it happens that the javascript code doesn't work.Should it be some optimization in addition to the code: ?

I am trying to add videos to my project, but none of them seems to work correctly. I have a movieclip, which has 3 layers and 2 frames on each layer, 1 frame at nr.1, and frame 2, at nr. 5 in the timeline. I tried to add a FLVPlayer, using a tutorial, but it doesn't works correctly. 1st frame has a stop(); a blank, and 4 buttons + FLVPlayer component. the last frame nr.5, has the AS3 code, the frame label "videocontent", and the same 4 buttons and FLVPlayer component as in the first frame. I've created a classic tween between 1st and 5th frame on the timeline for the buttons and component. even with or without animation, the video is throwed by the Flash on the stage without any coordinates, where he wants by default. The FLVPlayer's buttons are throwed in other place on the stage, and none of them seems to work.
the second issue is that after i click the main menu button, the sound of the video is still playing and to be heard, so that means it is still there. In AS 2, once upon a time, i used some function called removeclip, or unLoadMovie, and it worked.
I'm using Flash CS3, exporting for flash player 9 and having troubles with the code below only in Firefox 3 (flash player 9 or 10).In IE 6 & 7, all works OK.The code below should show small thumbnails of images. It does work on everything I tested except firefox 3. What is weird is that if I empty my cache and load the page online, it does not show any thumbnails or sometimes only one. However, if i reload the page without emptying my cache, it will then work perfectly.Here is my code :

[code]It works fine when I press the button but not when I press the enter key.Just to set the context I want users to be able to use enter to enter an answer into a grid before moving on to the next cell. My cells are all labelled A1, A2 etc so that I didn't get confused. As I am and will always be a newbie I couldn't figure out a function to do what I wanted so came up with what is probably a long winded way around: store the textfield instance name in an array and then call the item in the array in conjunction with setFocus - like I say it works when I click the button (which I intend to hide off screen).
