ActionScript 2.0 :: Scroll Bar Works Fine When All Of The Image Are Of Equal Width
Mar 12, 2010I have a scroll bar that scrolls horizontally through images that are loaded dynamically from an xml file. Then I have Next and Previous buttons that advance the scroller to the next and previous image. It works fine when all of the image are of equal width. BUT I want to be able to load images that have different widths. Right now, the basic idea is to find the next _x position that the scroller would jump to when you hit the next button by taking the total scrollable area, divide it by the total number of images, and multiplying it by current image number. Something like this:

ActionScript 2.0 :: 1 Instance Works 2 Doesn't
Jun 25, 2007I used the Fuse example he posted and started to convert it into a class. Here is what I came up with, which works great. However, as you can see in Main.as, it only works one instance at a time, and the last instance that gets called to tween in the onRelease is the one that works.I'm only attaching the two classes that make this run as it depends on some other classes that i have linked up as libraries in eclipse and I don't want to put together a whole package of it, but if its absolutely necessary then let me know and i'll repost a package of files.

Sep 3, 2009I created a custom google voice callback swf so someone could put in their phone number, and google voice will call them and connect them to me (essentially calling me). Everything works fine when i run it from my computer, but when I put it online it doesn't work.
The way it works is you put in your own phone number and name, then click call, and it rings the phone of the phone number you put in. This doesn't happen when accessing it from online though.

Professional :: The Play Works But The Test Doesn't?
Oct 16, 2010I've made a file in photoshop with layer. I brought it into flash. I created the movie and it plays but when I want to use the "test movie" feat. it does nothing. The graphics come up but no movement. I exported it as an .swf file but still no luck.

Apr 9, 2007my code is listed below. basically, i wrote this code to generate a rectangle that surrounds the movie clip called 'SELECTED' along with a small square that appears at the bottom left corner of the new rectangle.this new rectangle + tiny square are supposed to act as resizing tool for the movie clip 'SELECTED'. hence, if i press and drag the small square, the mc SELECTED should get resized accordingly. that is happening to some extent, except that when i release the mouse button, neither the onRelease nor onReleaseOutside function gets called.

ActionScript 2.0 :: CS3 Tween Doesn't Work First Time, Works After That?
Jul 22, 2009I have a box ("bg_box") that I resize and move up and down using the tween class based on what button you select. Once it is resized the text ("textBox") for that box fades on. It works fine on all the other buttons except for one! I added in a scrollpane with a strip of photos ("gross_scroll") on the button that doesn't seem to want to work. It is just a basic _alpha tween so I am not sure why that would cause a problem.
The weirdest thing is that it only has an issue the first time the button is clicked. It skips the tween and just jumps right to the size and position it should be. Once you click on another button and click on the troublemaker again, it works just fine.

Feb 10, 2010I'm working with flash CS4, with an adobe air file with as3, doing a desktop application to use in Windows , I google about information, but only find answers for web.I'm using a flvplayback, and when at source property add a local path as C:folderVideomyvideo.mp4 ,everything works fine, but when source is a server path from other computer as therpcfolderVideomyVideo.mp4 , doesn´t works. I'm not if a flvplayback bug.I have always the possibility to make a map folder, but this application is for a client, and if I can solve if add new map folder, it's better to me.

But fscommand works only when I debug my fla. Otherwise, nothing happens. There's an additional variable that shows if fullscreen is active - nothing happens.There's also a "coder" info. I wanted to use navigateToURL function for "mailto:..." adress, but nothing happens, even if if changed it to [URL] adress. ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash FLVPlayer Video Component Doesn't Works Correctly
Apr 1, 2011I am trying to add videos to my project, but none of them seems to work correctly. I have a movieclip, which has 3 layers and 2 frames on each layer, 1 frame at nr.1, and frame 2, at nr. 5 in the timeline. I tried to add a FLVPlayer, using a tutorial, but it doesn't works correctly. 1st frame has a stop(); a blank, and 4 buttons + FLVPlayer component. the last frame nr.5, has the AS3 code, the frame label "videocontent", and the same 4 buttons and FLVPlayer component as in the first frame. I've created a classic tween between 1st and 5th frame on the timeline for the buttons and component. even with or without animation, the video is throwed by the Flash on the stage without any coordinates, where he wants by default. The FLVPlayer's buttons are throwed in other place on the stage, and none of them seems to work.
the second issue is that after i click the main menu button, the sound of the video is still playing and to be heard, so that means it is still there. In AS 2, once upon a time, i used some function called removeclip, or unLoadMovie, and it worked.
ActionScript 3.0 :: UIScrollbar Doesn't Scroll Through All The Text?
Sep 22, 2008I have a small-ish text field with a decent amount oftext in it which must be scrolled through to view it all. I'veadded a UIScrollBar component (using AS3), and it shows up fine andscrolls the text fine, but it doesn't scroll all the way down tothe bottom of the text, just a little ways into it. If I use mymouse wheel and scroll the text that way, then scroll bar positionindicator suddenly shrinks and then I can use the scroll bar clearto the end of the text. But if I don't use the mouse wheel to dothis, I can't use the scroll bar to get to the end of the text.I've tried using the update() method of the scroll bar afterfilling the text field with it's content and attaching theUIScrollBar component to it. What am I missing here so that I canuse the scroll bar to scroll all the way down through the textinstead of just a little ways?

Dec 13, 2009I made text box, typed some text, converted it to a movie clip, named etc. Used a purchased and proven scroller component ... followed directions to the letter, including referencing/linking the files. However, when I tried to test the scroll bar .... the scroll bar appears, scrolls and works perfectly except the text does not appear. I have tried making a scroll bar with the UIscrollbar same thing happens. I made an other attempt and put pics along with the text in the movie clip ... this time the pics appeared and scrolled, but the text still would not appear.

Sep 1, 2011I have a TextArea that shows the conversation from selected chat room. For valueCommit event I use: verticalScrollPosition = maxVerticalScrollPosition; And it works fine scrolling text to the bottom. However in one case it doesn't work as expected. There's verylittle text, so TextArea has no scrollbar and then I put a lot of text and a scrollbar is necessary. The text is scrolled almost to the bottom (still a few lines need to be scrolled down). I am pretty sure it gets maxVerticalScrollPosition as if there was no scrollbar. So the question is how can I wait with updating verticalScrollPosition with respect to TextArea's new size (that is now with a scrollbar). I tried calling validateSize and other methods that start with 'validate' but unfortunately with no luck. I also tried the old trick of putting caret at the end of text. So the TextArea's scrollbar makes a difference when getting maxVerticalScrollPosition and I need to update verticalScrollPosition once all measurements are done. I forgot to mention. I use htmlText.

If you open "scroller" you'll see it works just fine (I wish it would only skip one line at a time but that's not that important). When you open "site" it loads "scroller" in it but the scroller doesn't work anymore?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Custom Scrollbar Doesn't Scroll As Far As It Should
Aug 11, 2003I am making a scroll bar but it doesn't scroll as far as it should. I triple checked all my math but I can't find anything wrong. Probably the code of interest is on the movie clip content0 within the instance whole. This is what actually controlls the scrolling. Most of the other script dictates how the sliders work so you can ignore that, they work fine. Scroll index is a number between 0 and 1 indicating how far down the bar the slider is, 0 it hasnt moved, 1 it is at the bottom. That works as well. So i am not sure why this doesnt work.
