ActionScript 2.0 :: Collision Area - Points To Go Down When Hitting Only One Of Those Items

I have a movieClip, with other movieClips inside of it, objects that I want when hit to lose points. But when I have the movieClips inside that one, it just has a giant "boundry box". I want the points to go down when you hitting only one of those items, intead it just goes does throughout the entire thing.
There is no way for me to scroll all those objects across the screen without either making a tween on the main timeline for each object (almost 20), or somehow making a giant movieClip scroll all of them all the way across, bypassing the first boundry box, and acknowledging the movieClips.
i have a character, (pawel) this one hits on a set of tree coins (mccorrecto) in this point i have the answer, the problem is... when pawel hits mccorrecto in other part of the movie, most apear tree numbers (280, 340, 460) = i have to do an excercise with number of secuences = so i have this script

I have a score system on one of my games, and it involves a dynamic textbox with a bonus system. I want to make it so that when my main character and special objects collide, bonus score is added.This is my code for my scorelayer, instance name of scorebox is (score_txt)

There was a bonus code for it but I removed it because I couldn't get it to work with collisions. All enemies/powerups spawn in the middle of the game so they don't have instance names (so I can't do a hittest between my main character (instance name: Thedude) and any enemies (No instance name) )I can do collision test by putting codes in the spawning thing's .as file, that way I can make a collision code without having both parties needing an instance name, but I have no bonus score code to work with. The one I used on my score layer does not work if put in a character's .as file.
I have an array of points that I will use to generate a closed polygonal fence on the outside of a game stage (2D). I wish to have collision detection between this fence and a bouncing ball-like object on the inside. Additionally, I would like to be able to arbitrarily add/remove/redraw the fence in realtime and have the collision detection still operate realistically. I have considered drawing a Sprite/Shape from the points and doing a HitTest at each frame to check whether to bounce or not. My question: is this the best/correct way to accomplish this goal? Consider something like JezzBall with diagonal lines of any angle a simulation of what I'm trying to do.
Im a bit stumped on this. I have a movie clip named mcMain that the player controls, and i want him to have it detect collisions at certain points of the screen (like at a certain X and Y co-ordinates). I have an array that contains those values, which is shown below:

I've got a bunch of modules called "c4" labled red1,red2,red3, etc. And a laser made from particles, with angle controlledby bckspace and enter keys:

The problem I run into is having the collision work with the beam, as opposed to the bounding box that begins with thelasereye_mc. Is there a way to get the c4 to react with the beam, instead of the bounding box around the beam? Or a way to get the photons to interact individually? Also, is there a way to load a particle system through an onEnterFrame without it overloading/oversaturting ?

I was also playing around with the area calculator at [URL]. These functions produce slightly different results. I'm trying to figure out which one is more accurate. It seems that hong007's function produces results that are on average slightly larger than freemaptools' function. However, I don't know which one is more accurate.

I have been tasked with trying to create a drawing tool that draws dotted lines as you drag the mouse across the stage. I can easily capture the points on MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE and store them in a vector and then draw the points as dots:
The problem is that I need to calculate evenly distributed points on an ever growing Vector of points so I can only draw the line between say every 5th point (say using modulus). I have been battling away with Bezier curve equations both Quadratic and Cubic but still can't quite figure out how to convert my Vector of points into an evenly distributed Vector of Points without sucking the life from the CPU.
i have a drop down menu am working on and each button tab (although they are not button instances !) when clicked opens up the "drop down" section which you can mouse over to choose another specific button etc - if you mouse out of that drop down area then it pulls back up to the original tab state .. what do i change to the code below to decrease the area that you mouse out of to make the drop down area pull back .....at the moment it at least two inches on the screen below and to the right of boundaries of the drop down box before it pulls up - i want to it pull up as the mouse leaves the boundary box .... hope this makes sense .... there is some part of the actionscipt below that controls this but can work out which bit and how to change it !!! (am guessing the x mouse and y mouse bits - but how to change it ???)

It can get bitmap from the target object, but it seem don't get all the area of the image.
By give the width and height of target object, but the target object in design was applied by Glow Effect, so my question can we get the all view of bitmapdata from a displayobject?
I have a movie clip named circle_mc(see the image on the link below) and a mask object(movie clip) which determines visible area of the circle. User can change the portion which is visible (extend the red area and make it red+blue, gray area is invisible). I need to find proportion of visible area to invisible area (red+blue/gray) so that I can calculate angle.
I would like to first add the xml to my flash. Fine I can do this.But I have a number of buttons, where when I click say CW1, i get the information from the XML file with a node of CW1. I have all the xml set up fine.As I have about eight different postcode types.

I just want to do not allow editing at some area of text area in flex. I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
im having some dificulties in the combobox of Flex 3, after defining the dataProvider and filling the combobox, how can i remove the items in the combobox later (without removing items in the dataprovider)? if i set the provider to "" or null, the items in the combobox are still there
well, i want to make an event occurred when object X hits any instance from a certain symbol Y lets say there's 10 instance of symbol Y rather than naming each of the instance obj1, obj2, etc and making a hitTest event for each of the instance, is there a way to make this event occurred when object X hits any instance of the symbol Y?
determine what is preventing my web service from being called. We have a working application in production and the developer who wrote it has left. am trying to build it on my machine and I can see a web service call in fiddler being made with the URL "/Services.asmx/MethodName" (as a GET request).I have set my break point in the asmx web service and it is not being hit. I'm using mx2004.I have 2 variables, craft and avilablepoints, now when you hit the crafting button, it subtracts 1 point from avilablepoints, and adds 1 to the craft variable. I got that coded without an issue. I'm having trouble setting up the button to stop adding when availablepoints hits zero. Here is the code I have so far...
What I would like to have happen is when I click on a button, a movie clip rolls out. When I click on that same button a second time, I want the movie clip to roll back in. Right now it works for me to click on the button once and my movie clip roll out, but when I click on it again, it just rolls out again. Here is what Im working with so far:
