ActionScript 2.0 :: Controlling First Movie Out Of Loaded SWF File

Jan 23, 2005

I load a movieclip via:
on(release){
loadMovieNum("detection.swf", 1);
}
So I load it in my current timeline on level 1. Now in the detection.swf is a button that has to control the first movie. (that loaded the swf)

I tried:
on(release){
_level0_root.nextScene();
}
Which did not work. Referencing via _root.nextScene() also, because the loaded swf has its own _root. So how can I control the first movie out of the loaded one?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Controlling An Externally Loaded .swf File?

Jan 8, 2010

Another question regarding externally loaded .swf's!

In my externally loaded swf.s are a pause and play button which work perfectly using only:

on(release){yanm.play();}

(yanm being the name of my movie file containing my movie!!) and obviosuly the stop is with a stop!

Now I want to add a 'Mute' button so that the user can turn off the audio. What script would I use for this?

I also want to use a 'Rewind' or 'Restart' button to return to the beginning of my movie and begin playback again. What script would be used instead of .play?

Dynamic Text Loaded From .txt Controlling Movie Clip?

Aug 26, 2009

Basically when loading dynamic text... the .txt will have a simple yes or no inside of it... nothing more nothing less.I've been trying all morning to get a movie clip to begin playing if the value is "yes", and to NOT play if the value is "no"

Basically i have a movie clip on the main time line named WHM. and im loading a dynamic text file into a dynamic text field named player1whm.

I want to be able to change the text file to yes or no on a whim, and if the value is equal to yes... i want the movie clip to begin playing as soon as it loads that value into the box. If it says no then i want that movie clip to continue doing nothing.I have already been successful at getting yes or no to load into the dynamic text box... i just cant seem to get it to control the movie clip.

Loaded Child Movie Controlling Container Parent

May 14, 2009

i'm a designer trying to step up my flash skills and have a scripting problem that's causing me trouble. essentially i have a child swf loaded into a container in a parent swf and want the child to be able to instruct the parent. to explain in full, the child contains an flv with bespoke video player components. it's container sits in one frame of the parent. when the flv finishes playing, i need the parent swf to move onto another frame.
as it's a controllable flv, it isnt possible to predict the exact length of time the child will need to be present, so it literally needs to tell the parent it's finished playing at that very point.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Controlling Dynamically Loaded Movie Clips?

Mar 3, 2004

Im creating a booklet with turning pages, like the one previously posted, so all the content is loaded dynamically.On the right hand page i have text, of which some lines are interactive.On the left page, i have a hidden text box. When the user clicks on a certain line on the right page, the text box on the left page becomes visible, and the relevant txt is loaded into the text box.Now, i can make the text box on the left page invisible by placing _visible = 0; directly into the actionscript pane of the text box.What i cant do is make it visible by clicking on the right page text. Where should i put the code to make the text box visible?Is it as simple as movieClip._visible = 1; ?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Text File Controlling Movie Timeline?

Mar 11, 2010

I have a movie where on the main timeline stage I have placed a movie clip (Clip1) and a dynamic text field. I have a .txt document that contains a variable that will always be a number (Var1).

Currently, the dynamic text field reads Var1 and displays that number. This is great, but I want Var1 to be used in 2 places:

How can I get Clip1 to also read Var1 and, based on the number that is Var1, play a certain frame of Clip1?

I'd like it to go like this: If Var1 is <1000 then play frame1, If Var1 is =1000 and <2000 then play frame2, If Var1 is =2000 and <3000 then play frame3, and so on...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Controlling Audio In Loaded SWF

Jan 23, 2009

I have several flash swf's that are about 10 - 20 min. each. I load these in a player that I have created as the user selects them from a menu in the main swf (a swf player basically). I can pause start and stop the swf's with no problem, but I can't seem to get a handle on controlling the audio. I have the audio in the loaded swf's timelines because I need to sync the audio with the animation taking place in those swfs. I could, take the audio out of the timeline (after syncing it), and then load it separately, but it would be much cleaner for me to just have it in the timeline.

I've resorted to the SoundMixer of the main swf to mute and change the volume, but I can't get hold of the Sound(), soundTransforms etc. of the loaded swf. To assign a play location for the soundChannel I need to access the loaded swf's Sound().Play() function, but I can't seem to do that. I have exported the timeline audio in it's actionscript, supplied a name (same as it's class name), and then tried to access it, but I can't seem to do it (yes I wrap the loaded.content variable in a MovieClip cast--that's how I can control the pause and play of the animation). Tutorials I have found only seem to work with sounds loaded into variables, and none refer accessing timeline sounds in a loaded swf.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Controlling Externally Loaded Swf?

Feb 23, 2012

the .FLA files are attached at the bottom. intro.swf is the actual movie and introLoader.swf is the preloader and it loads intro.swf into it.the problem with the actionscript previously was that itd start playing the external movie halfway through the preloader bar as if it was streaming..however i found a workaround that doesnt really work.. i used xyz.stop(); and xyz.play(); functions to control when the external movie plays.The problem with those functions is that i need a check for them i.e if(percentage <100) etc. which causes problems like if the flash movie is already watched once and cached and you reload the page it wont play.
