So I'm trying to get sound on my flex application. Then tried to load an swf movie with only audio in it.But when it loads on init(), it loops non-stop.Here's a sample code:

so I have 3 swf's that im loading with buttons into the main swf. The thing is that these 3 external swf's have embeded flv's. when switching between the swf's with the buttons, im using vid1loader.unload();the only thing is that while the video switched to the other video like it should, the audio keeps running on any number of videos(swf's) that are loaded. My question is how do you stop the audio when using simple Loader and URLRequest to load the swf's?

I will eventually have lots of these on a page.My problem is this:When I close the div the sound continues to playI can also make them play at the same time.I would like them to autostart when you open the div, but when I do that they both start at once before you've even activated the drop-down content. I would rather not do the whole site in flash.

View 1 RepliesI have a movie clip that loads an embed sound file using actionscript. That works fine when the swf is executed on it's own. However when I load it from another swf (to level1) the swf loads and runs fine but the sound does not play. It's my understanding that the reference to the instance of the sound file is not properly resolved but I am not sure how to reference it in order to resolve.Here is the code.
sound_clip.swf I have a sound file that is exported to actionscript with "BG" as the identifier.In some frame in the movie I use the following code:

the method for stopping/playing sound in 2.0 don't work for 3.0. i can stop the sound by going to a different page/frame on the site.but i want the buttons.

2.stop button?

I'm working on an app to stream audio from shoutcast. The streaming goes well on my computer and when debugging it with an Android-configuration. But when I deploy it to an APK-file and run it on a Samsung Galaxy S, the streaming doesn't work.
My code for streaming the audio:

I have two movieclips (alpha, beta) on the stage not inside anything and I want to use actionscript so when some event happens (ex: click alpha), alpha will be put inside the beta movie clip. So I load it in my current timeline on level 1. Now in the detection.swf is a button that has to control the first movie. (that loaded the swf)
I tried:

Which did not work. Referencing via _root.nextScene() also, because the loaded swf has its own _root. So how can I control the first movie out of the loaded one?
I have a movie where on the main timeline stage I have placed a movie clip (Clip1) and a dynamic text field. I have a .txt document that contains a variable that will always be a number (Var1).
Currently, the dynamic text field reads Var1 and displays that number. This is great, but I want Var1 to be used in 2 places:
How can I get Clip1 to also read Var1 and, based on the number that is Var1, play a certain frame of Clip1?
I'd like it to go like this: If Var1 is <1000 then play frame1, If Var1 is =1000 and <2000 then play frame2, If Var1 is =2000 and <3000 then play frame3, and so on...

Expected Result is the entered text should go in the Flex TextInput field but the actual Result is it goes into HTML text field.
I've got the following file reference listener on a file to upload art for display on a flash movie. However, I want this to display only at a certain size. I tried the "easy way", but this ends up sizing down my whole movie. Where should I insert the code to get the uploaded file to show on my flash movie only to a certain height and width? "chip_clip" is the empty movie clip this is being uploaded to:

I have a broadcasting project that I've got where the host of the show can have multiple sound effects they can use on their show.I'm wondering if the only way to go about this is for all the clients listening to the show need to download the mp3 of that sound effect or if the sound effect could come from the host ...like combining his mic (for his voice) but also straight audio (the sound effect) into the stream.

I have a flash movie [I'm using it as a presentation] and in it i have a video [embedded as FLVPlayback] when i run this in flash player in full screen mode [the flash player not the flash file]. when it gets to the frame with the video the video tries to run in fullscreen. I have several flash swf's that are about 10 - 20 min. each. I load these in a player that I have created as the user selects them from a menu in the main swf (a swf player basically). I can pause start and stop the swf's with no problem, but I can't seem to get a handle on controlling the audio. I have the audio in the loaded swf's timelines because I need to sync the audio with the animation taking place in those swfs. I could, take the audio out of the timeline (after syncing it), and then load it separately, but it would be much cleaner for me to just have it in the timeline.
I've resorted to the SoundMixer of the main swf to mute and change the volume, but I can't get hold of the Sound(), soundTransforms etc. of the loaded swf. To assign a play location for the soundChannel I need to access the loaded swf's Sound().Play() function, but I can't seem to do that. I have exported the timeline audio in it's actionscript, supplied a name (same as it's class name), and then tried to access it, but I can't seem to do it (yes I wrap the loaded.content variable in a MovieClip cast--that's how I can control the pause and play of the animation). Tutorials I have found only seem to work with sounds loaded into variables, and none refer accessing timeline sounds in a loaded swf.

View 3 RepliesI'm working on a flash project consisting of 25 separate .swf file. each file has a audio narrative in it which is controlled by "play", "stop" button.the way my project works now is every time you unload a current .swf and load a new one, you have to press "play" to turn on the audio narrative. since there are 25 narratives in total, you can see how annoying having to press "play" every time you load a new movie would get.
what I am trying to do is add a global audio control in first "index" movie which would allow a user to globally turn the audio narrative "on" or "off".so for example, if they like to hear the narrative, they can turn audio on and have the audio start automatically each time a new .swf loads. if they choose to turn the audio "off", then the audio should not come on automatically.as a added twist to this, I would like to give my user an additional control over the audio by allowing them to use the "play", "stop" buttons within each of the .swf files.
I am trying to control the audio of an embedded video from a mute button. I can get the audio to play and the mute button to control the volume using the following script:

View 2 RepliesI need dinamicaly create LinkButton with icon. The names of files (icons) have the format "images/icon_0.png","images/icon_1.png", ... "images/icon_1000.png". But I don't know specific image for this button. I know only index of icon.I tried this, with no success:
