ActionScript 2.0 :: Controlling Div Content With Flash?

I would like to implement a Flash menu, that when clicked on, changes the content within a specific <div> on the PHP page. However, I am having a hard time finding useful examples of this for a beginnerplaced in the html page, the javascript and the Flash document, using say, content within 's1', 's2' and 's3'? I only have access to AS2...So for instance, how would I change <div id="s1"></div> to <div id="s2"></div> using a Flash button?
I've just start working on a project whereby the site will be entirely in flash, have a nav panel down one side, and a content panel down the other. I want some subtle animations on the content as each page is selected (either scroll or fade out) but as each page will have a different background, I'm not sure what the best way to do this is.
My current thinking, would be to put all the 'pages' in one movie clip, animated with each having a fadein, then stop, then a fade out. When a link is pressed, it would play until it encounters a 'stop' (hence, the fadeout frames), then jump to the fade in animation for the link that was clicked.With being new to Flash though, I just thought a) I'd check to see if this is the given way to do this, or if there is a better, standard way, and b) if anyone can give me any tips on coding it. I would imagine it would be onPress(function), then the two instructions?.
I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.
how it is possible to edit dynamic content and modify the content and save it, all within flash.I have tried some experiments in the past and have got the text to change etc which is easy but i need a way to save the content so the next time anybody sees the flash it will have the latest content until i change it again.
I'm loading one SWF into another but the internal one is coming over the main content and that can't happen.here is the part of my code where the external content is being loaded anyone hason what I can do to fix this? here is my code:

I'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:

So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?
I have a SWF embedded in an HTML web page and want to move to a specific frame when a trigger is clicked. But nothing happens when I click the trigger, as though the js just doesnt communicate at all with the swf.SWF is written in flash cs4 (a3)The link to the website is [URL]..I have read the text books over and over and researched high and wide on the internet and as far as I see I have done everything correctly but I cannot get this to work. The swf is very basic, just a green box moving accross a small stage. The desired gotoframe would make it cross at a lower height (just a dry run for a more complicated swf)

For this project I am doing I must have the XML document define panels that will be selected within the .FLA. Like, as you scroll through the choices, it is defined in the XML document which in turn makes these panels (which are movie clips) expand along with the XML controlled data displayed in the panels (in dynamic text boxes).
I have some strange problem while using more than one sound that I want control.

When I try to reduce sound volume of 1 sound, volume of all sounds is beeing reduced?!The same situation is when I use tween comands like: this.myMusic.volumeTo(5, 1, "linear");
I have a 2GB Mpeg 4 Movie , i want to set the speed of frame progression by Action script. Example: play 1 frame every X seconds,where X can be a value that i will change
the movie is 1920x1080 ,30 frames per second square pixel.
I have a menu whee you can choose a picture to lead, works great with first selection, but when you choose a different picture it loads over the last picture,I want to substitute the content of that movie clip not to load all the pictures in the same space. I treid to use clear() and removeChild(), but this only works when I choose pic1 then remove that to load pic2, is there an easy way to substitute the content for the new content?
I am a designer working in a flash file on the navigation part. The web site (is not yet posted) works fine but I need to change the contents when the menu is clicked (contact us, etc. ..). I need to find where the information is so I can change the address, phone number, info. but I have looked everywhere and cannot find it. Where could it be hiding?
How to control the scalability of certain objects in a flash file. I'm trying to create a full page flash site where the scale of the certain objects stays the same, but a background image scales to how large a user's screen is. A great example of this is at "[URL]."

I have a flashplayer in html page and I want it to stop the auto play function when the page loads and play whenever I click play, and I tried to play with the code and added this: <param name="Autostart" value="0" /> but it's not working. On the other hand, I set the autoplay function for the quicktime player to "false"and it worked.
After using Flash for many years for animation I've finally discovered the Flash Presentation document setup, but I'm stumbling at the first hurdle in getting my head around the document structure and how the playhead moves between slides/screens.
I have a small 48 frame animated "text bullet" which fades in and then glows for a second. I have placed this on one layer in slide 2, and have tweened it so that it flies in from the left of the screen, stopping in the middle. This is great but have noticed that when advancing to the next slide, slide 3, and then hitting the left arrow to go back to slide 2, the animated instance of the text bullet is at the same position/state as when I navigated away from slide 2 to slide 3.
So how come the playhead doesn't automatically jump to the start (frame 1) of slide 2 when I navigate back? I have explored the Behaviours but haven't managed to sort out this very basic first step
I made a flash animation using timelines and broke my movie up into three clips. The clips run fine in their own time line. I was reading about clip.play() clip.stop() and it seemed like I could do this. I have a main timeline with three frames. Each frame has a movie clip symbol on it. Each movie clip symbol has a timeline a few seconds long in it.I did this because I want to put a click event that will go to a different url depending on which clip the viewer is currently seeing. This swf file will be embedded into an html document.When I run the resulting swf - the three frames on the main timeline zip along like crazy and the movie clips don't play at all. I've tried every combination of stop() and play() I can think of but this is just not working as advertised.My movie clips have instance names of Clip1, Clip2 and Clip3.

I'm working on a menu system in flash. If the mousewheel scrolls up each menu item shift up and visa versa for mouse wheel scrolling down.
The problem I have is there seems to be multiple "steps" going on.
In my mouse wheel handler I trace out the text "wheel" to test. If I mouse the mouse wheel just once "wheel" gets traced out twice. So for every one mouse wheel move my handler is being called twice and thus the scrolling of my menu always skips an item.
Is it possible to use Flash JavaScript API with YouTube videos? The only function that I got to work reasonably is "Zoom". TotalFrames() gives "1" and TCurrentFrame('/') is always "0". Other functions seem to do nothing. For testing this I'm just using the live Google Playground Demo with "ytplayer" as the movie object. Most of what I want to do can be done with the Google API, but I still feel uncomfortably unclear on the three way relationship of YouTube videos, swfobject, and Flash.
I am trying to controll my movieclip with my buttons in Actionscript 2. I have a loop in my movieclip, it goes frame 1-20 over and over again. I want the button to move it to frame 21 and play it onwards from there. How do I do this?
I have 4 key frames in my flash project and what i'm trying to do is to go from one key frame to another and make some of the content on the destination key frame invisible using actionscript. I know how to go from one frame to another but i'm having problems finding a way to control the visibility of content from another frame.
And clicking the link would load up my Flash movie, which is basically just a shell that imports an XML glossary of terms, but when the page loads, it would automatically show the word "Blah" since that is the link that I clicked on in HTML.
Is this possible? I'm at about an intermediate level of understanding when it comes to AS3.0, but I haven't dabbled with manipulating XML using Flash much.
