I need to generate a level of health , hunger , boredom but im not to sure how about in implementing this.
Im thinking of using the maths.random function to generate a random level of each but im not to sure if this is the best way of doing it (and how to use it)
Would it be better if I just set a value for each and then decrement X amount every so often?

The Windows version of Flash Builder can be used to create iOS apps.
Does this violate Apple's TOS? Is there any way for them to tell that I used Windows to create my app?
In order to meet the largest penetration of users with a flash player downloaded onto their machines, I have been tasked to Publish with Version 6 settings. However, I am creating my movies in Flash 8.
Are there any known draw backs to publishing with Version settings later than the Flash you are building in?
I.E. Component failure? Visual Quality? AS 1.0 v AS 2.0?

A virtual wardrobe is where there is a mannequin and a set of clothes to chose from. The user is able to click on a set of thumbnails and the clothing will be preview on the mannequin.

My on-staff architect can create photo-realistic renderings of our different models. The question is how would I go about substituting materials for different parts of the home. Would I start with a base model with no textures applied and then have each of the textures or colors applied? Would this be acheived using masks?

Basically, I am using Flex 3, for past 2-3 days whenever I launch any Project or debug it, I get the message box saying "Flex Builder requires a more recent version of Flash Player." It says my curent FP as 9.0.115.0 and debug version as 9.0.45.0. However, my actual FP version if FP 10.0.22.87. I don't understand why this confussion! 1) Is it possible to make oddly-shaped hotspots, which are interactable (clickable and what not)? I know you can make rectangular hotspots, but the borderlines of the towns and villages in the game aren't straight lines, and most require more than 4 lines to make the shape.
2) Is there any way I can learn the code that Flash uses? Just so I understand it a bit more, since I am using it for a two-year school project too, which goes towards my GCSEs next year. I would just like to get more familiar with Flash, and maybe the other programs, Illustrator and Fireworks. The only ones I know well are Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

I'm working with a rather large flash file and I've already been to the flash website to download all the updates that deal with large file issues. Things are much better now. However, I was having issues with flash coming back and telling me that my virtual memory was low. I adjusted it and now I'm not getting that error anymore. Now every hour or so flash will just quit. I'll be working and then it will be gone. I don't have a lot of ram on my pc.. 2GB. I'm thinking I'll upgrade it to 4 tomorrow. I'm working

View 3 RepliesI have a website setup in IIS 7.5 with a virtual directory pointing to a local folder outside of the www root of my website e.g:
the website is c:website
the virtual directory is in c:images
I use flowplayer to play my movies, when I put the movie path in my website root directory structure, say c:websitemoviesa.flv it works fine in the player, but if I put them inside the virtual directory and point the player to play it from there using a relative URL, it doesn't work
I suspect that this has to do with either permissions or flash configurations to allow it to access directories outside of the scope of the website, but I have no idea where to edit such settings

I have a flex component, a VBox, that has content inside it. Text components mainly.The VBox is holding a report that I want to be able to save to PDF. I am using AlivePdf to achieve this but the PDF produced is blank when viewed in Adobe reader (latest version).When I open the PDF in Notepad++ I can see that there is definitely content in there and the file appears to be structured correctly.This is the method I am using to generate the PDF:

Is it possible to make code in actionscript-3 to parse the virtual directories that are constructed in the flash library? I mean that if i add a folder on the library of CS4 called 'graphics' can i write code that parse the elements of that folder in order to fill an array with folder's elements(which are BitmapData classes) ?
