I have created this site with a expanding / collapsin menu. When a user selects a menu e.g. "hammers" then the menu is loaded and show the submenues. When the users closes the menu by moving the mouse away from the area the menu collapses. If the user expands the menu again the menu should have remember the last visit menu and show the menu.

Is there a way to increase the ease in and ease out effect? It will only let you choose -100 to 100, and I've messed around with the length of the tween, and the FPS of the movie, but I want the acceleration to be greater.

I made a simply drop-down menu in MX with an invisible perimeter around the drop-down part that will collapse the menu when rolled over. Most of the time, this works. However, I've noticed that when running the mouse quickly over the button (side to side quickly, for example), the menu will occasionally open but not close, and I have to roll over it again (crossing the perimeter) to collapse it.

So if you click on Capital Strategies group on this page: [URL] you'll find a .swf file that has a collapsible menu (accordion menu). Everything works great except for two problems:
1. There is some sort of wierd masking occuring that's clipping the bottom of the menu as you'll see.
2. The items don't collapse entirely.
I assume this has something to do with actionscript but as I'm sifting through it I'm just not having much luck.

I'm trying to do the ease to effect where it slows down as it gets closer to the certain area. What i have is a white box with an instance name of nav. I have 5 buttons. When I click a button i want the white box to ease to these certain X, Y. So when someone clicks on 1 of the 5 buttons it goes to a certain X, y. Each of the 5 buttons takes it to a different location. I've tried a variety of actionscipting and each one is unsuccesful. How can I acheive this effect?

I have a simple motion tween from fr 1 - 52 (x and y property movement only). I create a custom ease - standard 100 ease in and then a 100 ease out. When this ease is applied to the motion, the ease "happens" after fr 52. So the object does not stop until fr 63 (eased out at 63. How can I get the ease to match / ease out to the last keyframe on 52, rather than 63??? See the attached image of the motion editor.

I've got a rollover menu bar of buttons that opens up a list of sub-items below each button when you roll over it. Pretty standard, right? Then once that movie plays (sub-items appearing), a thin box appears both around those items and the menu bar's actual button, meaning that once the mouse pointer moves off of either the button of the sub-items, the movie disappears (that's what my invisible button is set to do). And herein lies my problem.
While the button works almost always, if I drag the mouse pointer very quickly over the active area, the button fails to activate. So I can literally keep my pointer at one side of the screen and race it over to the other side, activating all the sub-menus and making them stick in their 'open' position. Someone on these forums suggested increasing my framerate and I've set this to maximum. It makes the problem less frequent, but doesn't fix it. This problem happens both in the preview window and my browser (Firefox, Vista).So I guess at this point I either need a way to 1) Fix the problem and make them close, either by tweaking what I already have or making a rollover menu by a different means or2) Add something to each item like a 'timeout', where if there's no pointer present for, say, 1 sec, the it closes automatically. But I don't know if such a thing exists, especially in an older version like MX.

I've ben through the Sliding menu tutorial on kirupa at:[URL]The effect is great although for my purposes I am trying toget rid of the elastic easing effect and get a even speed without easing. The overall effect I want to achieve is a more of a push and stop rather than the blocks being sprung into place. [URL]

What I would like to do is have five buttons at the bottom of my stage, and when I click them, an image fades AND eases in. I have this part finished so far, but the issue is that when I click another button, I want the previous image to fade/ease out before the next one fades/eases in.
Here is my code:
Code: Select all
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;

In my flash page I made, in the right side, a horizontal infinite menu with a magnifying glass that has the same effect. This clip is made separately and is loaded into the page by an empty movie clip. All works well when is not in the page, but when it is loaded the lens is not moving. I figured out this problem putting this AS into the empty movie clip:
onClipEvent (mouseDown) {
startDrag("lens");
} onClipEvent (mouseUp) {
stopDrag();
}
But another problem appeared. Wherever I use the mouse, the lens are acting as if I am manipulating it. The lens are moving according to the position of the mouse. What can I do?

i have a menu which has 10 items. there are sub menus for each of them. the submenus total to 40 items. and when i click on ech of these submenus, then i need an image to appear on a part of the stage. Now, I need the same effect for ech of the image. Say when i click on the 1st submenu of the 1st main menu, the image of an apple comes from the bottom the stage to the centre of the stage.
Now when I click on any other submenu - say 1st submenu of the 3rd main menu, this apple image should go off the stage from the top and an image of mango should appear from the bottom of the stage to the centre of the stage (same as how apple image appeared). So, basically, i need any image to come from the bottom of the stage to centre of the screen and whn a diff image is calld, the image on the screen shld go off frm centre to the top.

I was going to attempt to create a vertical accordion menu with a genie effect this week.So it'll be like your normal text based accordion menu but the entries will shrink and grow depending on where your mouse is.I've never ever seen this specific type of menu before and I'd quite like to get a look at one to visualize how it should behave.

My problem that I'm having is I am trying to build a menu consisting 3 buttons, side by side that open and reveal subnavigation buttons on rollover. Then on rollout of the main container button, they close back to where they were. I have built the buttons and everything works great, the only problem is that on rollover of the internal buttons, the main button senses this as a roll out and plays the rollout animation event (closes the button). How can I make the main button not sense the rollovers of the internal buttons and only play the rollout event on rollout of the main button?
