I'm creating a Flash site to sell dvd's and CD's with over 100 - 200 button links on each swf page. All the buttons are the same symbol, and have the same actions apart from one number change (CD24 to CD25 etc). I want to use PayPal to sell the items and am currently manually editing each button with script like below:

Is there any way I can view all the actions externally or otherwise to edit en mass?, as in a full script list? As opposed to clicking on one button edit the action, click on the next button, edit..
For a hangman-esque game I have a flash document (using CS5, but that probably doesn't matter) that has (or rather will have) a library of 26 movie clips which will contain a letter of the alphabet each. They will be inside their own dynamic textbox, so I am able to change the font, colour background etc. at will. But is it even possible to change more than one instance of a movie clip on the stage at the same time, without getting too complex?
In other words can I put multiple A's, B's, C's etc. on the stage and get all of them to change at the same time if someone guesses a letter? I know that you can change single instances of a movie clip, but for that you need to give each instance a name and I don't know how many of each letter I would be putting on the stage, let alone how I could access them all easily. Perhaps it could be through classes or something? I haven't really covered them before though. Feel free to ask for any more details... I admit some of I stuff I write can be a bit vague...
I'm referring to the span of selected frames when in "Edit Multiple Frames" mode. (I've attached an image of the thing I'm talking about.) When I'm editing multiple frames, the multiple frame span "cursor"(?) always follows me around whenever I select a new frame on the timeline. Is there a way to lock it in place or prevent it from constantly changing whenever a new frame is selected?
CS3 -> CS4 transition newb here who's getting increasingly frustrated with the new motion tweens; however, for this project, I'm working in a 3D space and require using them, so I'm dealing with this bit by painful bit. I found the tip about Split Motion, but first question: how do you apply Split Motion across several layers at the same time? I have six different tweens, and in CS3, I used to be able to shift-click or click-drag across frames and apply a command to all of them (for example, hit F5 to add frames), but Split Motion is requiring me to right-click on each and every layer. This is really laborious, and I worrySimilarly, I tend to add custom keyboard shortcuts to each of my Flash versions for commands I use frequently and don't want to right-click a menu for (such as "add motion tween") - however, I can't seem to find where to create a custom shortcut for either that, or Split Motion.
I have created a button symbol which consists of a rounded rectangle with text on top. After adding two filters (bevel and glow), I went to edit the symbol. However, in the editing screen, I can't seem to access the filters; they don't show up in the properties panel when the button is selected. I'd like to change the glow color for the Over and Down states.
I'm Trying to develop a small game where the user chooses from a range of boxes of the left of screen and can drag 3 of them separatley to 3 holding boxes on ther right. each box can be dragged to any location and the order is not important. Once the 3 holding boxes are all full I want a new button to appear. I completed a tutorial and I've got one box working perfectly but no matter what i try I can't get it working with multiple boxes and locations. Below is a list of the instance names of the movie clips plus my actionscript. I've attached a link to the flash file.

In one of our project we are using flex for front end, blazeds/java in the backend. Its an existing code where services are prewritten. I have to make calls to 3 services in the backend (basically 3 remote objects) and get their result and store the result in an object and show the data of this object in a view. Now in front end we are using Flex and Parsley Framework. I was thinking of the following approaches.
1) Making commands for each service call and storing the result in a shared object (model) and then displaying this model in the view. In this approach the problem is some services are needed in some other web pages, but they donot need the same model. How should i handle this scenario ? Should i make a asynchronous remote call and fetch the result and then again dispatch and event with the event object storing the result.
2) Making a service call , wait for the result then make another call and wait for the result and then make other call, not sure if this is the right way ?
I'm designing an interface for a class, and the buttons that I am using all have multiple functions.For example, when the story button is clicked, I need the mc to stop playing and change to text (in the same window/screen, just no mc playing). The mc is 31 frames long, but if there's a way to just make it loop continuously until told not to, Currently, my code looks like this:

When I click the button, the mc does not stop playing and the text does not show up.
i started with a Multiple mp3 players project and i more complicated with that - as you see in the picture i try to do that when click on the play button for every song this switch the song that selected -first preloading + percentage the mp3 file and after play it immediately and of course there is stop button, pause button when choose a song the previously that play will be muted
I am extremely untrained in CS4 and Actionscript. However I have managed to get along fairly well until I started to dynamically upload images as a gallery. This works great if I have one gallery, but for my site I have 9 galleries!!! I have a back and next button, but I want to be able to use those same buttons for all of the galleries so they look the same. I have split them up and renamed them, but I am clueless on how to script the buttons to work.This is what I have now because I do not know where to put the other button names without getting errors.

I have a symbol that is movieclip (symbol name switch) which has got a switch on/off image inside it, if u click it, the 'switch on' image comes (frame 5) and when u click again the 'switch off' image comes (frame 1) Nw i want the symbol such that when i press it not only does the 'switch on' image come, but also change the image of another movieclip (symbol name 0bit) which is in the root timeline and not inside "switch" symbol
I have a set of two buttons on frame 1.I am attempting to use the same set of buttons on frame 5.I copied the buttons with instance names from the first frame and placed them on the fifth frame, but they are not performing the designated actions.The buttons work fine on the first frame, so I know the buttons are functional.
I have a site for my portfolio, and I want to show several different images. I want to just have a left arrow and right arrow to toggle through the pictures, so how do I code the same button to go to different pictures. Also should each of these photos be on separate keyframes?
I have used the loader script to load an external swf into current project. I have added a button to unload the external file when wanted, and was wondering if you could have multiple functions for that button, so that when you click it to unload it works as a 'home' button as well, and takes the user back to the mainpage again?Might be wise to mention that im kinda new to adobe flash and as3, and not sure if the way i have used to load the external swf was the easiest. Seems like a few have had some issues with this subject before me as well.
How would I manage to enable a button to perform several operations? I want a button to do the following.
I want it to change colour etc, when it is hovered over, I also want it to activate anther flash file on the page via local connection on release. How do I allow the button to set up different actions? Do I need to make 2 separate invisible buttons? And have action script applied to both of them for the 2 commands? How for example would I be able to extend this so that I can have the button doing several things? Say:
1) On rollover it changes colour 2) On rollover it activates a flash mc on the page 3) On Click it changes colour 4) On release it takes the user to another page

My movie has multiple draggle Movie clips (via a button with an attachMovie function)
I would like to have one button that when clicked will rotate whichever MC on stage the user selected. Basically if a user clicks on MovieclipA and then hits the rotation button MovieclipA will rotate, but then if they click on MovieclipB and hit the rotation button movieclipB will rotate.
I'm working on a simple rotation of some parts, I'm making mouseover regions for each position that the parts are in and the shape of these regions are completely different in each frame. I was wondering if there was a way to make all these separate regions on separate frames act as one button instead of making 25 separate buttons to do the same thing?
Is there a way to edit an imported movie into Flash (CS2)? I try to remove frames, but then it seems to remove them from the end of my movie and not where I specified (in the middle).
I tried editing the movie in another program and then importing that into Flash, but Flash loads my entire clip again.

I'm using a program called SWFText, which basically helps you create a flash animation to a text without knowing a "thing" about flash.And it outputs a .swf file without a .fla file. I want to use this .swf in my website, but I also want to edit the text in it according to my guests name.For instance, I created a .swf from swftext with the string "Docent" and embed it to my html code. but i don't want to display docent when josh enters to the site. I want basically delete "Docent" out and write "josh" instead.
I want to copy some text to edit in the same style and size etc, however when I do change the wording, it changes the original too. How can I do this so only the copy changes when editing?
I have two questions (I'm a photographer and flash novice):
1) I just bought this flash template (URL...) and I need to edit it. Rewriting the text is easy, I just rewrite it in XML files, but I cant figure out how to change the font, font color and font size. Could somebody tell me how to do it?
2) I also bought this template (URL...) and I cant figure out how to edit name in the header and text in the top menu. I really cant find it anywhere (I dont see it in Adobe Flash and I dont see any jpeg or PSD file in the flash directory...)
My friend wants to be able to update the sites text himself. Is there a way he can easily edit the basic text online without having to use Adobe Flash (it would be even better if he could add photos as-well). I was thinking I could get flash to read an XML file but I don�t know how he could easily edit that as heis not techie at all.
I bought an Easy Flash Template from web-flash-template.com. The template consists of a flash file (fully flash based site), PSD files, image files and a .txt file for all the text. There's no problem editing all the files, except for the .fla file. I am trying to edit it to add a new page, embed a youtube video, etc and I see no layers for each screen. When I look in the ActionScript I see some details there which mentions screen 50 or 95, etc, but I can't edit any of those screens. Either I'm missing the boat thoroughly (which could be ) or this is a poorly designed template.So, my question is, would anyone here who is a little more experienced with flash be willing to let me email them the file to take a quick look at it to give me any pointers?
i'm trying to change the color of a graphic symbol instance, several times across the movie clip timeline. (the symbol is also rotating across the timeline.) for each keyframe, when i double-click on the graphic symbol, break apart and then change the color in the properties panel, then go back to the movieclip timeline, ALL the keyframes with that symbol has changed colors and not just the one instance on the keyframe that i'm on.
Is anyone else seeing this? After several minutes (less than 10!) of doing nothing but editing a .as file, I see an impending crash in the form of little pink squares around the scroll bars. Most of the time, if I save right then, then exit Flash, I escape without losing any work. If I ignore the warning signs, or sometimes just by Ugly Surprise with no warning, Flash crashes. It doesn't seem like using the app as an IDE for AIR apps, especially when doing little but composing and editing source files, ought to be that taxing.
