Dec 18, 2004I'd like to be able to detect, in flash, events like on Rollover for HREF tags which were embedded into a dynamic html textfield. Perhaps a listener of some sort?

Flash :: Javascript - Under Layer - Clicks - Catch A Hover Event On Top Of A Flash Object
May 20, 2011I need to catch a hover event on top of a flash object, so I set the wmode and created an invisible div on top of it to attach the event listeners to. Thing is, I can't click the flash object. The cover is swallowing the clicks, and the things I've tried to go around this have made a mess of the hover events. This is the 30th problem I ran into in 2 days time and it's driving me crazy xD.

Apr 23, 2009I'm working on [URL] and I'm having problems with the semi-transparent png backgrounds when I embed flash into the page, but only in Internet Explorer. See attached. notice how the semi-trans white seems to fade out away from the top left in the drop down, and in the 5-pixel border encircled. On pages without flash, it's fine. In Firefox, Safari, it's fine. I tried using the Unit PNG fix, and that made the image backgrounds look perfect, but then my drop-down hover menus became buggy, i.e. they would hide if you moused over link text in the menu and then moved back into the white empty space in the menu. Argh. I'm running IE 8.0.7077.0, Firefox 3.0.9, on Windows 7 build 7077 x64

Jul 8, 2009I am trying to have a link on a web page open up a flash video that appears to hover over the html. I have read web pages explaining parts of this but I cannot get it all to work together.
I am using swfobject to embed the flash object into the web page. I think I need to use javascript to handle the event of clicking on the button and then use z-index to have it appear to hover. Ideally the flash would center itself in the middle of the browser

There will be two of these areas on each side of an image that will be changing every couple of seconds (so both hover regions will be changing with it). Feb 17, 2012I have created a small application which takes it's information from an xml file and displayes it in a news ticker which is a flash Flash AS2 application. tell me the correct way to format the link tag in the xml if there is a standard when wanting to state a target for the link? The xml file currently looks like:

So what I want to do is to be able to open the link in a taget=_blank window however adding that to the end of the url does not currently work.I have added a comma and also tried using a space, space and encompassing in quotes but none are working.

Aug 24, 2010I have a slider with arrows on the end to operate/advance it. If you hover over an arrow the slider slides. When you roll off/hover off the arrow the slider stops. The problem is that if you hover off to quickly it still thinks the cursor is over the arrow and it continues to slide. Is there any way to address this?

I have a flash movie which contains a number of pages which contain dynamic text fields containing HTML read from my database. This works absolutely fine, however for reasons that I cannot understand when you hover over some of my links they move to the right so they are inline with the edge of the first linked image at the bottom. Jul 20, 2009I am new to Flash. I bought a template online a couple weeks ago, and for the most part have made all the changes to personalize the page. The page is for wedding videography, and came with a Videos section. However, I do not like the template video player, and would like to have the Videos link on the menu bar go straight to my youtube channel rather than to the flash player. Primarily all changes to the template have been made in a text.txt file, rather than the flash file itself. I didn't know how to bring a link in the datagrid. So used the Text control to display the "View" label. Now If I click this item, "View" in the datagrid, I want the Pop up function, i.e.,defectCommentsPopUp() to be called.
